Do you get much 60 cycle hum in p90 position, I’ve never had a guitar with p90 and hate the hum on my mim strat so wondering if it’ll put me off
@@davidcaine773 hi. The P90 makes a lot of hum with high levels of distortion, but I love its sound. That's why I decided to have them changed for 2 P90 stack pickups. The same sound, but 100% noiseless. In more recent videos on my RUclips channel, you will be able to see them. Bear in mind that the P90 stack is slightly bigger than the original P90. In my case I got a luthier to make the pickup cavities slightly bigger to install them.
Anyway, if you don't intend to use lots of distortion, the original P90 is amazing, too.

I think your playing is very soulful and emotional. You don't play too many notes at once, which is good. You have to let the air around the nots breathe.

Awesome playing! A question if I may? I am looking at upgrading to one of these as I have been learning on a Yamaha 112v for a while now. In your opinion, what model you choose - the 611 VFM (tremolo) or the 611 HFM (hardtail) model - and why?

WOW....amazing work. Brilliant. Wish I could play half as well as you. Yamahas....aren't they fantastic? Never met one I didn't't like. Even their lowest end models have beautiful necks, I had several Yamahas while I lived in Japan, and I missed them so much I got one of these 611s today. The shop where I bought it was selling them at about half the original price, and he told he got 3 in originally and after seeing the quality, he purchased the rest of the ones available in Canada for his store....and I bought a black one today. Can't wait to sit back and have a go with it tonight. For the past few days, once I knew I was going to buy one, I have scouring the net for reviews and footage of great players putting this model through it's paces and after watching you, I know I purchased a top notch guitar, for so little money....in fact I expect the cops to come to my door and arrest me for theft. Glad I looked around the web and found this footage, thanks for posting it.

Beautiful playing and tone! Are you just playing direct through that Yamaha amp or are there any additional pedals plugged in? These 611’s are amazing so I have the limited edition version on back order with the satin body and neck finish as well as an aluminum pick guard. Can’t wait to get it! Only 200 made for the American 🇺🇸 market!

I would strongly recommend it for any styles. I modded my guitar by changing the pickups (p90 stack) -not in this video though- in this video, I used the original ones, which allso sound great!
the neck is similar to a top class usa fender stratocaster. really comfortable in my opinion.
I know warmoth used to make the necks for Yamaha I wonder if they still do

I didn't use any guitar processor. I just used a YAMAHA THR10 (Brit Channel) + my Pacifica 611. I love the combination of this guitar and this amp. By the way, if you want to see exactly the settings I normally use, check out my video called "THR and Cubase. Recording a song from Scratch".

Question. Forgive me if this is stupid and obvious, but can you connect the THR to a PA system and get more volume without changing the tone? And do these amps take pedals well?
Sasmitha Waidyatilleke hi. of course you can connect the thr to a pa system (and it sounds great) -you can use a mike ot through the headphone output.
And the thr takes pedals really well!!

Man! Where to start? You simply rock!!! I'm thinking very strongly about buying the Yamaha Pacifica 611 and you made that even easier on me. It sounds great and you're playing even greater! Oh..that is an awesome neat melodic solo! Is it true that this guitar is very resonant, has a bit natural sustain? That full pull of string @1:17 & 2:25 is just perfect- I can't do that, my string always snap, lol.

el thr acepta muy bien los pedales, aunque tampoco hacen falta porque suena de maravilla. Los efectos y distorsiones son geniales. En mis videos solo llevo el thr (ningun efecto ni distor extra)

AntonStratocaster hola. hay que cambiar de canal con la mano. puedes programar hasta 5 presets y cambiarlos rapidamente apretando un boton. Piensa que es un ampli diseñado para tocar o grabar en casa. Tampoco es imprescindible un pedal para cambiar de canal, aunque siempre le podrias poner un pedal tipo boss de distorsion.

si siempre preparas tus temas con este ampli, luego cuando los tocas en directo me imagino con tu ampli de válvulas y tus pedales te tiene que cambiar mucho no ? no se si me explico.
con el thr puedes con un solo preset la distor el delay el chorus y en directo tienes que pisar varios pedales y hacerlo en el momento exacto de la canción. ....
A mi me pasa que tengo ina Zoom G2nu que uso mucho en casa y el dia que voy ensayar con pedales Boss me las veo negras para activar 2 u 3 pedales a tempo con la canción.
Tanto que al final acabo llevándome la Zoom tambien para tocar con gente.
AntonStratocaster hola. puedes grabar una combinacion con distor, chorus, delay, etc y rescatarla cuando quieras (como preset) tan solo pulsando un boton (banco de memoria)

En la lección viene toda la melodía y solo (toda la parte solista) 100% tabulada y tocada despació y tienes los backing tracks a dos velocidades, donde se oye perfectamente los acordes, etc.
Estoy seguro que, si te atreves con la parte solista de este tema, los acordes te los sacas de oído en un momento, je je.
De todos modos, si tuvieses algún problema con algún acorde, me envías un mensaje y te lo digo.
