I remember doing the Nepal trip when i was in college... it was 20 yrs ago..😲 i quite liked Pokhra.. the lake, the surrounding places. I remember having a fantastic steak in a restaurant near the lake.. i think it was called Pyramid or something 🤔 you must visit the sunrise at Machipuchra (a mountain peak)... it is indeed sad to see children doing hard labour.. the poverty in Nepal has taken away their childhood. Hope things change for the better soon. Love from India✌
I sadly ran out of time for the sunrise trip. Had a great time regardless. Yes, it is sad and hopefully things will change in the future, fingers crossed. Thanks for the comment mate!
International Blogger's always seem to go to west Nepal, haven't seen a single blog of the East. I am from Ilam, Trust me, we've similar views and our tea estates are magical.
Once again, Alex steals the show: “Zey can understand me, merde!” 😂😂😂 I love everything about this video, from the shrug of the 15-year-old girl when you ask if she likes her job to Justine’s “Bahhhh, oui” (so French, lol) to the sign with “Stupa” (made me think of those t-shirts with an arrow and “I’m With Stupid” lol) to the scenery... just brilliantly edited, kiddo. Made me morning to watch this before I go teach. Thank you for bringing these views and stories to us! 🙏🏼💗🙏🏼
Hahaha yeah the frenchies are super funny, especially when you have a bit of banter with them, merde! Glad you are loving the scenes and stories Karin! Have a good day at school, cheers! Nick🙏🤓❤
I’m sure it makes a nice change to see some greenery after you’ve been in the mountains for such a long time. Thanks for the info about the elephant. Didn’t know that.
Definitely mate, nice to see a change, even though those mountains never get old... And yes, elephant riding is terrible. They break down the elephant emotionally as a baby by beating the soul from it. NEVER ride elephants, spread the word. Cheers mate!
Question for you man, when you edit these videos what’s your strategy? Do you edit to the music so add the music first and then add the clips too it? I’m intrigued to know and learn! Keep up the good work’
Cheers Will, I edit everyday as I go. I add the clips first then the music. I am doing a Q&A soon, so I will get into the Qs more then, if you want to partake ;)
@5:19 Thanks for including the EAR PIERCING GATE NOISE! I love bleeding from my ears. AND AGAIN at @9:20 I love it! Hearing is overrated, thanks for blowing out my ear drums. I really thought that was wonderful. And all for such a great cinematic moment, a gate opening. Glad I'm deaf now, it was worth it.
I was born in Pokhara omg, can't wait to go back! Also, if you end up going back to Nepal, you should visit Mustang and Ilam:)) And I love your videos:)
- Child Labor: Dude, this kills me. I see it here in Vietnam, currently. Asia, really. There are those who would watch this video and say 'my god, why would you choose her to row your boat? You are supporting child labor". To me, it's something like this: Whether we are traveling or not, the child labor will be there. The child would be picking crops, sweeping floors, or collecting plastic. The job possibilities are endless The government isn't functioning like it should be, and people (children) suffer. Fact. So, we have two choices: 1) Ignore the child and choose and adult. This would make it more difficult for the child to eat/live, at the end of the day. 2) Choose the child VS an adult to do the (honest and fair) job. This would help the child eat/live better. Damned if ya do. Damned if ya don't. But, when I see both options in front of me, I sympathetically choose the child. To answer your question: Heck yes, this place is worth visiting! 🌍💪🏽
Back in the early 2000 I guess, I don't remember quite well as I was still a kid. The Nepalese government passed a law to make child labour illegal. (I don't know if it was legal to employ a child before this point) So all the child workers had to be let off by their employers but those kids returned soon to their old employers asking for work because they didn't have any other means to survive on. I haven't been to Nepal in a very long time but I doubt the situation has changed. It's sad to see kids having to earn for a living at such a young age but we can all talk about how sad it is and putting a stop to it on social media but that really isn't going to help these kids. Reality is these kids will have to find a means to survive themselves. Which with so many other things are the ugly side of Nepal. The government officials in Nepal are busy asking the international community for funds in the name of development and busy filling their own pockets and sending their kids to other developed parts of the world.
Once I saw (when I was in Nepal, my aunts and cousins live there) a girl about 12-14 had a concrete brick, roped around her leg by her mother with no shoes on as punishment for not doing something. And they were walking in public and the side walks there are pretty rocky. I felt so bad for her.
He is not doing anything illegal as Nepalese law dictates 10+ older is not punishable under child labor, if the family income is below poverty level and the money is used for schooling and similar activites
Lauren Aida There is a theory that American Indians originated in Asia and crossed over to America through a land corridor linking the two continents at that time in history. Khusi also means happy in Nepalese!
Been subscribed about a week, And cannot get enough of your content! Editing is amazing and you're so genuine it's quite refreshing! Keep it up dude you're great !
Another Stupa, another beautiful location. They certainly pay attention to that first rule of real estate...location, location, location. How long did it take you to climb up there? Looking forward to the next video.
Nice shots bro, Amazing landscapes. Yes the children working is sad but also respect earned very young to enjoy life more when older, American children are spoiled and sit in front of video games all day, My sons all work hard doing cattle and ranch work. Among other work, But they are rare in America. I truly wish my people could experience other nations to appreciate what we have. Peace Out. Belus
Yeah, I totally agree, the worst thing is when you see a 3 year old working an IPad better than their parents... Appreciate your perspective mate. All the best, Nick :)
Been there, lovely people, Tibetan exiles can be a bit pushy, saw some really extreme street kids (one high on glue) and had a massive emotional meltdown over that drunk one evening in a small musical instrument shop near the palace. Did the boat trip to the island on Fewa Tal. Pokhara ...no problem!
I think its your New zealand accents that makes me watch your video,i love mostly all European accent ,km from U.S but i dont like American accent ,plus i like all the ads you put it in your videos

Yeah Craig, super SEAsia feels. Had to drop the Georgian back in there for the hardcore fans ;) The videos will be back in real time in like 4 days time!
