What do you guys think about DEWALT offering a commercial lawn mower? I think it could work with the right support, but then again, DEWALT is known for their tools, not lawn mowers, so we shall see!
I expected a lower price point since as you said they are tools not mowers and I can locally pick up a 48" wright for around $7500 vs. $8999 for dewalt how would you compare them
I would love for Harbor Freight to start offering commerical lawn care equipment. They have the easiest and most transparent warranty and return policy point blank!
I never really understood the"supporting small businesses" thing. Will you stop supporting them when they grow and become a larger business? What makes you think a large business isn't hiring employees and creating jobs
@@bigchungus920 it’s more for the local economy. Shopping local usually keeps money local as the business owner and people would keep the money and spend in town. When you buy from a box store you take the money out of your town/local economy as it goes to there headquarters.
@@Goofy58943 Unfortunately people are only going to figure it out when the Shelves are bare. And the entire naighborhood is on assistance Its really being penny wise and pound foolish.Makes me sick.
Saw it at Home Depot just recently for the same price as the 52” 37hp Scag stand on that I just bought. I like dewalt tools, but I would never buy this mower when I can get a scag, exmark, or Wright at the same price.
I can't speak for how it runs on a dewalt, I have a couple Kubota 61" Stand On mowers and they have the Kawasaki 26HP EFI and I have really loved them. So far we have about 350 hours on them with no issues. Great torque on the blades and they actually run noticeably quieter than their Carb counterpart.
Having put probably 300 hrs on an outlaw and a rebel, I can tell you I’m not a fan. Too much slop in the handles, cut quality just isn’t there for me on southern grasses, and the seat as comfortable as it is for short term, cutting 20 acres of sports field I can tell you it gets uncomfortable in the long term where my exmark has good support for me.
Great video Brian, I think it looks like a Bobcat Quick-cat painted yellow with Dewalts name on it! They already make hand held equipment but it’s battery.
It shocked me when I saw it at the local depot. It’s looks pretty good but I would be hesitant to jump in. Thanks for putting some work in on it and letting us know how it goes!
It looks like a Cub Cadet Pro X because Stanley/Dewalt has partial ownership of Cub Cadet. Very interesting to see them release another gas powered stand on. Having the Dewalt name, I would have thought they would get into the commercial battery mower game!
My concern would be is if home Depot really makes a commitment to keep them even if the sales are a little slow at first. If it's as good as they say it is then they should commit to having it around and supporting it for a number of years. Also, I believe that engine is very similar to the one that Ventrac has on one of their models and it's fuel consumption is almost identical to the Kubota diesel engine that they have on their big Ventrac.
Where are you getting your information from? That's not how this works. They will have authoritized dealers in your area that you bring the mower to. This is the same if your order any mower that doesn't have a local sales place.
Seen these in store. Played around with stand on. .build quality looks impressive. But expected a price advantage. The Kawasaki does sound nice in your video.
My Scag Tiger Cat 2 has the Kawasaki efi 26hp and it has been great so far. Easy reliable start and lots of power. I own a lot of Dewalt tools but at the $9,000-9,500 price tag, I would go for a pro brand with dealer support before this Dewalt.
I’m not taking anything away from dewalt but if I was a new landscape company I would look for that dealer support, going to Home Depot for possible parts would be a recipe for disaster.
Hey It could be any number of companies building this machine. Construction pretty much uses basic parts. But as far as engine and wheel motors there’s only a handful. Now when it comes to repairs or warranty repairs that’s where it’s going to be problems. In the real world shops are always 4 weeks behind for repair work. You did say this is a freebie test trial.
It honestly looks like they took the skag v ride 1 frame and built off that. Interested in seeing how it cuts and stripes though not sure I’d even trade my skag for it.
My wife bought me a dewalt drill for Father’s Day, now she mentioned me getting one of these, 🤦🏾♂️ talk about brand loyalty 🤣 I just slid her a couple hundo to go to Costco, she’s fine! 🤣
Great video. Home depot has them sitting right next to cubcadets at the store...... also our local cubcadet pro dealer also sells dewalt tools, but not dewalt mowers yet...hmmm ...
So I have a question.. What there saying is that in video chat there able to help people with problems.. So what about tracking and deck balancing? BTW an oil change on those can be a pain in the butt with the proper tools..
9,500 for that stand on sheesh, I recently just got a 36" stand on Scag and I love it especially with that 19HP which is Plenty of power for a small of a unit.
I have a new Scag Tiger Cat II with that same Kawi EFI. Only have 11 hours on it, but it seems to have plenty of power for a 52” deck on a ~1200 lb unit. I’m sure that it will do well on the stander.
Seems like a nice machine, but I look at it like a redesigned car, give 2 or 3 yrs b4 buying so they work most of the kinks out. Def love the Kawi EFI. The 25.5hp EFI Kawi on my JD x590 is sweet and seems to have plenty power. I am ready to demo something with the 38.5 hp Kawi FT1000 EFI. Just saw one on a SCAG Cheetah 2 at my local dealer. Nice video Brian. Have a safe 2021 season brother.👍💪💯
I love Home Depot cause I served my country and now can buy everything at 10 percent off including this mower and parts and whatever else Home Depot offers how many out there offers Military discounts that can do like this Lowe’s does but there 30 miles away and Home Depot is 2 and a half miles. But how many little shops offer military discounts like Home Depot
That price tho. $9500 for an untested, mostly unsupported (service wise) design feels like a stretch. Curious to see how your field testing comes through with only the 5gal tank. Hope it’s awesome, like the company but I’d be hesitant to jump in.
It’s not unsupported, just take it to any Cub Cadet dealer, since that’s who makes it. And you’ll need to probably every month, being that it’s MTD garbage.
Dewalt is part of Stanley Black N Decker and they bought into MTD mowers and have option to buy it 100% and may have already done that. MTD makes most of the consumer grade stuff parked in front of HD and some other big box stores. Stanley group would of course leverage the DeWalt brand name to give instant street (yard?) cred to a line of mowers.
I have quit a few of the drills and impact thay are great. But the lawn mower I'm skeptical about. I'm with you on the 5 gallon gas tank. I'll be watching future review video to see how it goes.

Avg homeowner goes and buys one, will HD employee be able to explain everything to them to keep them safe and explain how important it is to check hydro fluid? Avg home owner can now buy a commercial mower at big box store and stop paying you to mow.
Those EFI engines burn less gas per hour or per unit than a regular engine. I had a cub cadet with an EFI an the combined 8 gallons got me through a couple of days. I bet that would get through a full day no problem.

I'm a hustler man. They are the inventor of Zero Turn. Now we have 4 yellow mower brands. I have used DeWalt pwr tools for 23 years though.
Yazoo made zero turn somewhere back in the 40s, Dixon made it practical in early 70s. Most all others are later on the scene.
Brian, very good job of quickly highlighting this new mower.
Stood on one the other day, deck is wobbly, okay built, for the money, you can get much better quality
