MY MUM DID THE EXACT SAME THING WHEN I STARTED MY PERIOD like she didn't laugh in my face but she promised PROMISED that she wouldn't tell anyone and LITERALLY went to my dad and told him and all her friends and everything and it was just so embarrassing.

It must be hard for girls, but as a dad, it's very reassuring to know as we expect it to happen but we won't know when. We need to be prepared and be there for our daughters too and knowing helps us understand your moods and to prepare better, especially us single dads
I am the dad...my youngest (13ish) walks into the kitchen (where I am) and declares "well, I'm a woman now". And all I can say is why are you telling me this? But I love her all the same.

As the other girls explained, that’s a common myth. A lot of the times it hurts mostly because the girl is not wet enough/ too rough penetration for the first time. If the woman is completely aroused and wet, and her partner is careful and considerate it should be fine

My daughter was 10. I had to be in work in like 20 minutes and we had the one pad you get from the talk in school. I had to drop her off with my cousin's husband so I could go to work 😂 I literally told everyone I knew because I was in shock that she was 10 😂 a year later and her dad has no idea though. She was fine though, just told me the minute she knew, we got on with it, no embarrassment. Think partly coz my mum was crap with me when I was a kid so I talked to my daughter about it from when she was little. She always knew it would happen one day.

why do moms feel the need to tell the whole family when you’ve started your period. my step dad, aunties, uncles and grandparents all asked me about my period when i first started and i was so embarrassed because im a very private person and i don’t like showing my emotions so when this happened i was just a bit like wtf mom why does everyone need to know. like i didn’t necessarily mind because it’s a natural thing but having my grandad buy me pads to leave at his house isn’t the most pleasant thing.
