How To Install Vland Headlights on Scion FRS

- Hello guys :) today I just installed my Vland headlights on my Scion FRS. For the BRZ and 2017+ Gt86 it should just be plug and play but for the 13-16 frs you will need to wire them. I just use the blue T-tap. Those works so great and it would’ve only taken me only 30 minutes to install 1 side but I had to record for your guys. If it’s your first time I recommend you doing it, it’s not hard at all. If you have any questions about the Vland headlights just comment down below :) I will reply to you.

The correct light bulb size is D2H. You can also use your oem H11 like I did in the video, you just have to get those 2 pins out of the black clip at 2:40
Great vid man! Just wondering - what did you do with the driver for the H11s? Do they fit inside the housing with the cap on or should I just keep the cap off?
@@WingedProphet I put the cap on so anything won’t get inside. There is these black rubber on the cap where you can take it off too and adjust it
@@CheemengFyne I have these on my frs but I'm confused does the daylight boomerang not stay light up during the day? Because mine has not.
@@JumboGamingYT If you want it to turn on all of the time then you have to tap in the white wire to the fuse box.

@@lexirenne No, I never had when I still got them. Drove it in the rain multiple times and it was great for me. Just make sure you seal the green part good

I purchased D2H bulbs without realizing they didn’t come with the ballast. Do I need the ballast or would I be able to get by without it? I’m fairly new to the electrical side of cars so pardon me if that’s a dumb question lol
Yes, you’re going to need a ballast.
Hey great video! I was wondering if you also removed the white pin cover from the blue connector. I tried connecting it on mine but the blue adaptor doesn't seem to fit the frs wiring harness. Any advice?
Yes, remove all of the white pin. They are meant to support the actual pin only. But if it seems like you did, make sure to look at it. Sometimes you just have to force them in if you already removed the white pin
If you’re talking about the blue T clamp or t tap, you sometimes have to force it in or try to open a bit to put them in. Don’t be scared to do so.

You can also use different T tap too. I believe the link o provide up there is out of stock until July 4th but I’m not sure
Question hopefully someone see this lol but what size is the fog light im trying ti change it but i cant find the size i took out the bulb and it say HT7 but nothing comes out?
My best guess is to take out the bulb and take it to your local auto parts.
I wanna get my permit soon like next month and I cant find the missouri practice test how do I find it also do you have any tips that would help me pass
I think for the best option is to go to the DMV website and take there practice test on it. I heard from multiple people that it’s almost the same questions.

Yes, all you need is just the led bulb or any bulb that fits in the Vland
Hey man I have the same H11 lights you installed bought them brand new and when I clipped the green and black wire to them they don’t work and I’ve checked my wiring over and over I can’t seem to get the night lights running
Make sure you switch side on the black and green wire if it don’t work. Also the connection on the main wire to the car make sure it’s connected etc

Hey man, I'm honestly very confused with what bulbs work in these, everywhere I look getting different answers but this is the most recent vid I could find. I have a 2013 gt86 and was looking at getting Vlands, but very confused whether my stock bulbs will work it or not? I'm seeing everyone say vlands only work easily with H7 (just found out what that is now) and I'm not sure but I think I have HID's as stock that I'd much rather use (might have xenon's, again no clue and no real easy answer). Lastly, wanted to ask if the boomerang on the Vlands can be turned off or it's an always on thing? Much appreciated!!
Pretty much the green part for the bulbs is universal. I use the LED H11 (I will provide a link). The bulb I use is very good compare to the Hid or the stock bulbs. Also, for the boomerang you can turn it off and on if you wire it as how I did it. If you want it on all of the time you will have to tap in the WHITE wire to the fuse box. If you want to bulb that they’re talking about it is the DS2 bulbs

I put mines on yesterday but the lights below the headlights now won’t turn on.
If you did every step I did it should turn on. Other videos that I’ve seen doesn’t connect them to make it turn on. Also, make sure to check all of the wirings could be bad connections

With this wiring does the bar stay on all the time or no?
No, for the C light to turn on at all time you’d have to tap it into the fuse box. Which you can use a fuse adapter for it

Recently installed the vland headlights on my 2016 frs and once I started up the car they lit up and automatically shut off. None of my lights seem to work except my brake light. Anyone know why this may have happened??
Could be bad wiring or bad ground. Some t-tap have different sizes

I bought H7 LED bulbs are they okay?
I’m not sure about other H11 but the one I used and the one Vland recommended will fit forsure.

It’s pretty good. I set my lowbeam pretty high so I didn’t use my high beam at all
What is the T-Tap gauge size that i will need?
also did you use a ballast? great video tho will be putting them on Wednesday
If you look up, “Dorman - Conduct-Tite 22-10 Gauge Assorted Quick Splice Connector” the red one is the best because it’s the smallest one and it can splice into the wires better
