Im always so pleasantly surprised how well you can talk about sports games. Using correct terminology and knowing a lot of the legendary players/coaches. Great watch!
MVP Baseball 2005 (which did not come out on N64) is generally considered to be the MLB video game GOAT. In that game, you actually could argue calls -- and choose how frothy you wanted to be in arguing. Depending on how egregious the call was (and there were blown calls), you could max out your anger and fire up your team. It sounds jank, but it worked. Mound visits served a similar function, and you could regain stamina after a home run with a pep talk.
42 more games to halfway there big Thab. It's been a heckuva journey and it's been a blast through the nostalgia feels and the introduction to games I had not even an imagining of before you aired it.
I have fond memories of this one even though I was never a sports game fan. It was one of those showcases for the expansion pack. Definitely had impressive graphics at the time.
F1 and Hotwheels racing is a bit meta lmao. Also the hot wheels game was pretty good from what I remember as a kid. You had to find the cars to unlock them
Thabs is so entertaining I can't wait for each Friday lol. Out of all the crazy RUclips, this seems to be original which is surprising because RUclips has been around a long time. Idk how you thought of this but excellent creativity.
That's very true about many game genres. These new games are so complex that you need an incredible amount of time and thought to learn all their menus and nuances. I keep going back to old school shooters, RPGs, RTSs, sports games. You're playing the game within seconds of turning your game on
Microtransactions ruined sports games. Madden and The Show are exclusively built around the player spending money to build their ultimate team, whereas if you just want a decent dynasty experience you gotta go all the way back to Madden 12.
yeah but then you have hardcore fans who want an true simulation game. This problem happen with power pros where the game attract a ton of casual fan and hardcore fan due to its the only baseball game with npb franchise mode . The game is fun tho. I played like 3 full baseball games since i got the game because this game can be played like a high school simulator (similar to persona with rpg element). You can even become a coach, train students and manage game. The game can almost be played like a raising simulator.
I played this game endlessly back in the day, so I was so excited for this video. Now I am furious that this is how I just learned that you can angle your swing!!!
I like the marble races. Pretty good sports-like commentating on it too haha. Liked seeing Mischief Makers come in top 10. Can't wait till that one finally get's played
True story…. I never played this game…but I literally came up with the jingle that played at 2:36 all on my own years ago. I was trying to extend that jingle into a whole instrumental beat on a piano to rap over. I thought it was a cool unique sound only to realize it was in this video game almost exactly how I created it way before I even got out of elementary school😅
Later N64 games looked much better than the earlier ones. Check out Kaze Emanuar and how he's retooling all the Mario 64 code and textures using modern knowledge to make it look amazing. The console only barely tapped its full potential during its lifetime.
So many nostalgia berries from this one, I still have my ASB cartridges from back then. Made it even better by playing as the Yankees (favorite team). I knew the rosters so well from playing these games.
What to do in Baseball games on the N64: 1. catch a fly with a dive 2. watch the instant replay 3. replay the moment the player gets up from the dive in reverse over and over
Man, my N64 memories are still there chilling with my PS1 memories. I was playing Tiny Tank and Ff7 half the day and Diddy Kong Racing and Zelda at night
one of my earliest memories is playing this game with my dad all the time. My mom would have to make us both go to bed because we would play it all night sometimes
last week thab mentioned that he’d actually beaten the game over a year ago (and that there’s a long delay between when he plays them on stream, and when he actually posts the edited video on youtube)… does that mean he did these marble races a year ago too? I’m so confused about the lengthy lag time haha - I have so many questions!
I know the original recording of the video was a longer time ago but what you could do is just number the marbles that way it’s still a surprise when you go to the list!
One thing that would be interesting to add either to the commentary or even just the video description is the date range of when you played the games. I know you have the timer, but a place in time of when you playes it might be interesting to see. Regardless, great video as always!
Not a big fan of sports games, but this one seemed decent enough. Plus, I liked your commentary I'm curious to see how tough that F-1 racing game is going to be. I'm terrible at these and would love to learn a thing or two.
Always look forward to these every week-appreciate all the hard work from everyone! (Also, red Twizzlers are great, though black licorice is pretty awful.) 😅
Mr thab, we've been impressed with your viewership and family friendliness and would like to extend a 1 million dollar Twizzler marketing series.. oh wait.. sorry we'll move on.
Thab's play-by-play commentary is getting better and better.
I like the marble race at the end - so dramatic 😮
He's slowly losing his mind, but he must press on! We're over halfway there!
@@Fork501on the streams he just hit 250 games completed
I love how it's two racing games competing in a race.
F1 won the race? Who would have guessed?
Im always so pleasantly surprised how well you can talk about sports games. Using correct terminology and knowing a lot of the legendary players/coaches. Great watch!
Two things
1) Thab as Jeter is hilarious in the thumbnail
2) Reds catching strays in the first 2 minute
He actually makes a very convincing Jeter
I love the addition of the marble race at the end now!
I miss the “What’s that?” But the marble race will suffice. Always great race commentary
I guess he could have numbered the marbles instead of naming them but I like it the way it is!
I would be fine with him saying “what’s that” like he did last time as a joke. It’s a bit of a drug at this point to me and I need it
Same 😂 even if he was like “the next f1 game? What’s that?” It’s just too good meme or not 😊
Dude...the marble race at the end was amazing!

The marble race was great. You made it sound like a horse race. NBA hang time was robbed!
It makes me want marble runs to be shown on ESPN The Ocho.
Thab is an unironically great sports commentator 😂
>horse race
... that is forbidden here. Never utter that phrase again.
@@idontwantahandlethoughhaha the ocho, nice pull
@@TsuNaru Why? Horse racing is awesome
@@wingwaabuddha😂 One of the games he finished recently took an insanely long time to get through and it was a Japan-exclusive horse racing game

ASB 2000 was my jam! Also, the marble race was superb!
The Marble Race and play by play is a great alternative to the RNG which I also thoroughly enjoyed
Wow, they got Open Up by Leftfield on the soundtrack. That's an unusual pick for a sports title, but hey, they have good taste.
I have fond memories of this one even though I was never a sports game fan. It was one of those showcases for the expansion pack. Definitely had impressive graphics at the time.
Loved the marble race at the end to choose the next game!
The marble race is fantastic. Great idea! Should have its own channel.
Great edit on this video, efficient commentary and showcase of what the game is trying to do. No dragging
7:50 Angel Hernandez Simulator
7:15 Yankees current hitting coach
Awesome they used (Leftfield w/John Lydon - Open Up) for the menu music. Great tune. Love the new marble selection too.
F1 and Hotwheels racing is a bit meta lmao. Also the hot wheels game was pretty good from what I remember as a kid. You had to find the cars to unlock them
That and F-Zero X were our prime racing games as a kid. I miss Hot Wheels but still have F-Zero X
I love how your marble race commentaries sound like your commentaries during the sports game playthroughs. It's entertaining. :)
ASB 2000 on N64 was awesome for its day, it had features that I don't even think I've seen in a baseball game since.
I am so glad we got to the marble races! It is intense!
Thabs is so entertaining I can't wait for each Friday lol. Out of all the crazy RUclips, this seems to be original which is surprising because RUclips has been around a long time. Idk how you thought of this but excellent creativity.
Lmaoo love the marble race. I have been playing the first F-1 World Grand Prix since you played it for the challenge, that was pretty solid. gg Thabio
the marble race at the end is so hype holy shit
Lmfao this was your best video yet imo. Absolutely hilarious!
I don’t even play baseball and I watched the entire thing lmao. Well done!
Ha, I love the marble races for the next game now. That's a great feature LOL
Both of your channels are my favorite of the year
I just lost my house on that damn marble game. NBA hang time fucked me 😂
This video is a banger 😂 Thab is becoming increasingly talented at making these sports games fun to watch
I kind of like the sports games from this era. They're so complicated these days. I miss the arcadey style from back then.

Got my kids a switch for Christmas. I got myself MLB the show. I played one game and haven’t played it since. It is waaaaay too complicated.

Wow, I remember like a year ago you mentioned the marble race and just figured you decided not to do it 😅 Can’t believe you were that far ahead

That organ ditty was a certified banger 🔥
love the marble race 😅
Loving Thab’s sports knowledge
I like the marble races. Pretty good sports-like commentating on it too haha. Liked seeing Mischief Makers come in top 10. Can't wait till that one finally get's played
NBA hangtime getting yeeted at the end was nice
really liking the change to the marble race at the end, good stuff
I can’t get over the second clip in the intro 🤣🤣🤣 I lol every time
This was my favorite game when I was little. Man what a nostalgia hit
way better game picker, highlight of the vids now
Just wanted to chip on the whole marble race thing: It's awesome. I hope you stuck to using that!
me too
100 videos later and he's still doing them. For 400k channel points, you can redeem a marble race with VIEWER names!

the marble thing is brilliant
The marble thing is interesting but maybe label them by numbers so we still get the "what is that?"
Personally I think it’s more exciting to root for the games in the race than it is an undefined number.
Man, my N64 memories are still there chilling with my PS1 memories. I was playing Tiny Tank and Ff7 half the day and Diddy Kong Racing and Zelda at night
Yesss! You kept the marble race 😂
Sports game so putting the episode on as background noise while I'm doing other things. But once the marbles start rolling I'm glued to the screen.
one of my earliest memories is playing this game with my dad all the time. My mom would have to make us both go to bed because we would play it all night sometimes
I gotta say, I fully expected to skip the marble races to the end just to see the winner. But no. Ya hooked me in. It's so hype.

One of my favorite N64 games growing up
Wow, that play-by-play commentary sure had a lot of sports terms in it!
The zelda in the marble race had me on toes the entire time. This is fun!
Thab randomly choosing violence in game 3 gave me a chuckle
Love the marble run, makes it so exciting
I gotta give props. This series is excellent 👍🏻
You had the chance for: "Next F1 game?? What's that?!" COME ON MAN! I know the line is gone buuuut it could've had a sneaky comeback.

love the marble race!
I love the marble race so much :)
Race commentary is top notch.
This was my first baseball video game! Played it for hours!!!!
6:14; that’s Paul O’Neil. #21 and left-handed. Not Jeter.
Me and my family used to kill this game. It came in a red cartridge. Definitely one of my favorite baseball and sports games of all time
Why is that marble game so exciting to watch? 😂
so intense!! love the new selection method!
This was my favorite game growing up! I had so much fun!

I'm curious to see how tough that F-1 racing game is going to be. I'm terrible at these and would love to learn a thing or two.
They got Knoblauch's stance correct. If I had known the phrase cursed, that's what I would use to describe it back in the day.
I like da marbles at da end

Legend of Zelda marble teaser
We don't accept twizzlers slander here
Huck em, Chuck em, football!
I’m sure everybody has already said it, but why would you possibly skip to the end just to skip the marble race?!?!? 😂😂
SO GOOD!
Finally, the first entry in my "Scott Brosius on RUclips in 2024" playlist
Do the Yankees left handed batters jerseys say 'Hydra' when they're at the plate? 6:34

Why is "Open Up" by Leftfield playing softly in the background of this video?
The marble race is super hype
