Wow Thomas I'm noticing in this video how you wrap the yarn differently around the hook as you crochet. I've always grabbed it the same way each time, how do you know when to loop from behind or in front of the hook?
🤣 yes, with an i-cord you have both way of wrapping. The end yarn from the front and the working yarn from the back. That's why I usually place my yarn ball a bit further away and the yarn end more towards myself so I don't get confused 😉
If you know how long this side of 228 stitches will be approximately, have around 3-4 times of that length for the extra yarn. If you don't know how long your project will be, I always have a lot of extra yarn. If end the end it was too much I can always cut it and reuse it in-between. I hope that helps 🤗 Good luck with your project
Ha I know, I also learned it to always chain 1 when turning. And I was surprised to learn that the chain 1 is completely useless and we don't need it. In addition with the chain 1 I never got straight edges. Always wavy. Without the chain 1 the edges look so much smoother imo 😊

Thank you Thomas, definitely saving this to continue referencing. 😊
Absolutely, as someone who's not a fan of the chain this truly is a lifesaver for me 😉🤗
5 for sure...😊❤
5 all the way for me too 🎉

How do I use the icord method for a project that starts with 228 stitches? How long do I make the extra yarn I need? Thanks for these suggestions.

And you don't have to ch 1 when you turn rows?! I learned to crochet 30 years ago so I only know old ways haha
