    That is quite the arm to bowl that sort of pace, near 80mph of a short run basically stepping run up. Any amateur player who has cranked the bowling machine up to near 80mph knows how fast that is, I'd imagine even the pros are struggling with that pace when its coming unconventionally like that.

    I do think that creating a new format for The Hundred was unnecessary but I also think that the option to give the same bowler another 5 if they bowl well does add something to the game and that rule enabled a magical finish to this game.

      @wunnell 2 месяца назад +3

      @@siddepp7192, firstly, it's "balls", not "bowls". Secondly, I don't think you know what you're talking about. Just as each bowler can't bowl more than 4 overs in T20, no bowler can bowl more than 4 sets of 5 balls in The Hundred. The difference is that bowlers are allowed to bowl 2 sets of 5 in a row. If the IPL implemented a similar rule, Bumrah could indeed bowl the last 2 overs but he could still only bowl 2 others. What's wrong with that?

      "yeah"
      So, we agree that it's your comment that's bullshit and not this rule then?
      "i find it bit wired tho"
      Weirdness is in the eye of the beholder. It's obviously different to what we're used to but that's the point. The Hundred was supposed to be different to generate interest. Do you really think that someone unfamiliar with cricket would consider it any more weird than the usual rules though?
      Personally, I like it. I'd be happy if it was incorporated into T20 cricket but that will never happen. It provides another option for the fielding captain and can lead to interesting scenarios like this one. There's also risk associated with it though. If a bowler is holding the batters in check then the captain may want to give them another set, but that also means the batters are facing a bowler they're used to and may be able to take advantage, which has happened. It also means that a captain might want to hold their best bowler back to bowl the last two sets but that means they won't be able to as much bowl earlier and that gives the batters more chance to score and get set. It just adds another element to the tactics of the game.

    For those who have followed this bowler, how is he as a regular spinner? Has he achieved any feats woth his normal bowling style before this performance? To select him for the future depends on his past performances.

    Dan Mousley (along with other less extreme quick white ball spinners) and Benny Howell (and other slower ball “seamers”) are meeting in the middle in terms of pace and revolutions on the ball. Definitely a model worth exploring.

    How to be an Indian cricket fan
    1. India must be at the top even when they're not
    2. Love and hype everything that Indian cricket team and players do
    3. Passionately hate and belittle anything special that doesn't come from their country.

      Buddy You have no idea how much we troll our own players 😂.
      Truth is - If India is at the top, we don't care and expect them to stay that way. But if India isn't at the top, we'll bash our players and captain until it reaches the Top.

    I've always wondered why this kind of bowling isn't attempted more by spinners in this format, especially as a change up delivery to catch the batter out with a +20mph delivery from nowhere. I get it's a difficult delivery to bowl with high risk, but also high reward it seems a good one to have in your locker. Great bowling Mousley, what a spell 👏👏
