    I do think that creating a new format for The Hundred was unnecessary but I also think that the option to give the same bowler another 5 if they bowl well does add something to the game and that rule enabled a magical finish to this game.

    • @siddepp7192

    • @wunnell
      @wunnell 4 месяца назад +12

      @@siddepp7192, firstly, it's "balls", not "bowls". Secondly, I don't think you know what you're talking about. Just as each bowler can't bowl more than 4 overs in T20, no bowler can bowl more than 4 sets of 5 balls in The Hundred. The difference is that bowlers are allowed to bowl 2 sets of 5 in a row. If the IPL implemented a similar rule, Bumrah could indeed bowl the last 2 overs but he could still only bowl 2 others. What's wrong with that?

      "yeah"
      So, we agree that it's your comment that's bullshit and not this rule then?
      "i find it bit wired tho"
      Weirdness is in the eye of the beholder. It's obviously different to what we're used to but that's the point. The Hundred was supposed to be different to generate interest. Do you really think that someone unfamiliar with cricket would consider it any more weird than the usual rules though?
      Personally, I like it. I'd be happy if it was incorporated into T20 cricket but that will never happen. It provides another option for the fielding captain and can lead to interesting scenarios like this one. There's also risk associated with it though. If a bowler is holding the batters in check then the captain may want to give them another set, but that also means the batters are facing a bowler they're used to and may be able to take advantage, which has happened. It also means that a captain might want to hold their best bowler back to bowl the last two sets but that means they won't be able to as much bowl earlier and that gives the batters more chance to score and get set. It just adds another element to the tactics of the game.

      I don’t think that was a correct recording of the speed for that ball, he probably bowled it at 73mph but mistakenly they wrote 83mph. You would see a 10mph difference visually between different from the other balls if that was the case.

    They have no sense, cuz if you see its so obvious that he is taking wickets by just bowling at the yorker at mid speed faster than an avg spinner. They could just step out of the crease and blast the ball out of the ground. If they understand that, the match would have been theirs.
