Chris Spielman is one of the reasons for Detroit’s turnaround
God. Chris saying he "can't wait to tell my ..." And stopping. Realizing he was so excited to share this news with his wife while he was a player Stephanie who passed in 09 is heartbreaking and beautiful all at once.
I went to Jr. High with Chris. He excelled in every sport, was a straight A student and kind to everyone. So happy to see him recognized!
It’s a tragedy shame him and that 91 Lions team didn’t make it to the Super Bowl. They came out of nowhere that year.

Bills mafia here .. loving EVERYTHING the lions have been doing .. it’s no secret why they are at the top of the league now. It starts at the very top and goes all the way down to the bottom . The lions have changed it ALLL. Awesome story and rooting for them!

This summer during training camp after practice when all the players left, Chris Spielman was still on the field doing something no one paid attention to - but Dan Campbell saw it and he called Chris out for it at that day's media session. He started the presser by telling everyone there how important Chris is to the team, how he helps evaluate talent, leads by example and is the exactly the image the team strives to be. What was Chris doing on the field after practice with no one watching? He was helping the grounds crew repair divots in the grass. He was filling holes. He was telling the grounds crew how important THEY are to the team's success.

I'm a Ravens fan, so I have no emotional connection to the Lions or Chris Spielman.
This set up was fantastic. The look on Chris's face when he realized he was announcing himself was simply priceless. I applaud whoever came up with the idea in the first place and pulled it off without a hitch.
Good luck next week in San Francisco. I'm so happy to see a franchise truly turn things around the way the Lions have.

It's amazing the struggles the lions, as a team have had , but we sure have had some classy individuals in this city Barry Sanders Chris spillman Billy Sims, Megatron. It's got to happen one day and the city will absolutely explode when we make it to the super bowl. The seam really wasn't bad in the 90s that 91 team was good enough to win the super bowl.

I remember when they had training camp in Irvine California and me and a friend of mine were lifting weights and he walks in and takes the bench from us and I was so star struck (I’m from Michigan and watched him have 28 tackles in one game) that instead of asking him for a autograph, I asked him if he wanted a spot😂😂😂😂😂 he of course said no but ended it with a thanks. Man he was so intense it was scary

Wow! So I’m a Detroiter now living in Dallas-been here for 30 years. I gave up my Lions when I moved here, adopting the Cowboys as my team after my first 31 years as a frustrated Lions fan. I watched my old team from afar as futility continued. But then former Cowboy Dan Campbell (who I saw play at Texas A&M too) was hired after Sheila took over and breathed new purpose into my old team. After watching Hard Knocks both my wife and I abandoned Jerry and his circus here and became Lions fans again-admiring what Sheila was assembling.
I love our Lions. So proud of the whole organization-One Pride indeed! I grew up at the Silverdome living and dyeing with Chris and Barry. I just saw this video. So touching, so awesome, so deserving.
I’m beaming with pride over the rebirth of the my hometown city AND my Lions. Thank you Sheila and the entire reborn Lions organization she leads. Thank you Ford family. I proudly wear my Lions hats every weekend.

Literally backed into him at Galyan's Sporting Goods in Columbus, a week after he announced his retirement. Thought I had backed into a steel column. We were both looking at the Goalrilla basketball goals.
I'm a pretty good sized guy, and don't often feel small, but, let me tell you... this guy was a stud! Was still in top shape and bulked up. I nodded to him, he nodded to me, and we went our separate ways.
Unfortunately, the whispers of, "thats Chris Spielman" became a loud roar, throughout the store, and he was quickly surrounded by a crowd, seeking autographs, at the climbing wall, where he was trying to enjoy watching his kids play on the wall...

Football was very different back than and you got a chance to play and wear the Honolulu blue and silver color and the lions logo proudly. Congrats once again

Grew up in Ontario , Canada. We had the Detroit tv feed so i became a Lions fan. Spielman and Sanders were my favorites.
Mr. Spielman, you’ve always been my favorite Lion.I still wear the only Lions jersey I’ve ever owned, yours…This honor is well deserved..A big congratulations to you, one of the BEST players to ever wear the lions jersey…My two favorite plays, was when you jumped & stuffed Emmit Smith on the goal line on MNF…The other play, was when Erik Kramer was QB of the Bears, I was at this game in Detroit wearing your jersey with about 7 Bears fans sitting behind me. Kramer threw a pass which you intercepted & ran back with a feet first slide into the end zone, I turned around & held out your jersey to the Bears fans behind me…God bless you & your family forever sir.
