Nice. Am taking a liking to blue on white porcelain and ceramic lately. I hear one reason why it’s blue and not some other colour is cobalt oxide was the only chemical compound/mineral they could find to withstand the extreme high kiln temperatures, and it just so happened to be blue after firing. Other colours required a second overlay painting and an additional lower temperature kiln firing. The story may be different today. The technology may have advanced. Still, the tradition and beauty hold up.
