The Dark Angel I first enjoyed it on WKBD ch.50 in Pontiac MI, a northern suburb of Detroit from 1975-79. It was only run from Memorial Day to Labor Day and was a big part of my summer vacation, from 3-4pm. I'm 48 now and have always been a fan of this wonderfully campy show!
I’m from Detroit as well and remember ch. 50. My mom wouldn’t allow me to watch the show when I was 4, she thought it would give me bad dreams. I could only watch in the 70’s. I used to draw the ship all the time. If I was told back then that one day I’d meet Bill Mumy, and actually get to know him a bit, I would have said you were crazy. But that’s exactly what happened to me in the mid 80’s. I worked at a high end restaurant in Birmingham then. One day the owner told me his brother in law was visiting, and would be coming in for dinner. I asked why he was in town. He answered “he’s attending a sci fi show” “he was an actor when he was a boy. Maybe you’ve heard of him. His name is Bill Mumy”. I almost passed out. I couldn’t believe I was going to meet Will Robinson, my childhood hero. He arrived for dinner and I was assigned his table. He couldn’t have been nicer. Very friendly. I told him I was a long time fan and how happy I was to meet him. He and I talked a bit about the show, but I didn’t want to intrude too much. Over the next few years, he came into town every so often. He always remembered my name and asked for me to wait on him. He once asked if I still watched the show. I told him I didn’t have cable, and hadn’t seen it since I was young. He asked what was my favorite episode. We talked a bit about it. Several weeks later a package arrived at my house. It was from California. I opened it, and in it was a VHS cassette. There was an autographed 8x10 as well. He wrote “Have fun John”. The tape had my favorite episode, his favorite episode, and the pilot. I was so flattered and was over the moon. I still have the tape with his hand writing on it. We lost touch after I left the restaurant, but I’ll always remember the few years I got to know my hero, Will Robinson.
Nice work, man, but I prefer the original scenes of J-2 entering the derelict and landing. You have to admit, it's some of the most incredible model work ever done.
+Steve Inman Yes, but it came at a cost. Sometimes, post-production was so complicated, an episode was finished only one week before the broadcast date.

Also great music from Herman Stein, the lesser know of the 2 main composers, (everyone knows the Great John Williams). Stein wrote the great alien sounding music for The Derelict, and also the beloved “Family” theme. He also wrote new music for “There Were Giants in the Earth”, (Dr Smith even got his theme music here, when goofing off and pretending to work), and also music for “Hello Stranger”. At this point, they were mixing and reusing Williams’ and Stein’s music together to great effect!

That is really AWESOME Phil. I have been following your work as best I can. Always impressive! I can't wait to see what you will be doing next with the Lost In Space franchise.
A little more modern clip of Lost in Space. I think this would have been episode 2. The crew doesn't even look like the show's original characters. Note the more modern hairstyles. John, Don and Smith are recognizable. So is Will, but he is much taller. They sound like the originals. Odd how people are still major fans of the 50 + year old tv program. They keep trying to reinvent it and keep it going in a number of ways.
Wish that would make more of them.the first year was the best. New episodes. Have them on a prehistoric plant with there force feild to keep out the monsters . but they would have to go out. To explore and gather food. Each time they would have new adventures.
Wow Phil, Awesome job, man, A lot of hard work in that ....I liked the figures, stoked at the Smith cliffhanger, very smooth and looked like genuine new material.

WOW! This is awesome!
That was EXCELLENT! Thank you for posting!
THIS IS AWESOME!
That was absolutely SMASHING!!
Will done sir!
I love this video! Excellent job there! Thank you for posting!
Well done all the same!
Nice job, though I seriously doubt the Jupiter II has a separate control for each of the 3 landing gear. It wouldn't make any sense.
It did! I'm building the Moebius Jupiter 2 kit right now and it is clearly pointed out on the decal sheet.
Tom of Finland meets Lost in Space!
ahhhhhh hahahaha
They put the 'ass' in 'asteroid'!
No fear..smith is here..i remember that words when i was young in Argentina 50 years ago..
Thanks Greg. I had fun doing this. It's possible to do Lost in Space if they would just DO IT.
I can never get enough of this or any of your work sir!
Right. Like the New Thunderbirds. Even Captain Scarlett was done this way. Lost in space and Star Trek should be done, too.
AWSOME !!!!!!
That is really AWESOME Phil. I have been following your work as best I can. Always impressive! I can't wait to see what you will be doing next with the Lost In Space franchise.
well done
how come fans don't produced lost in space episodes like they do star trek episodes? not that dedicated?
That is the window screens for the lower viewing port.
I wish there was a copy of the whole series like this, just for the novelty value. :)
Nice!
GREAT!!!!!!!!
Now you need to do the rest of the episode
Wow Phil,
Awesome job, man, A lot of hard work in that ....I liked the figures, stoked at the Smith cliffhanger, very smooth and looked like genuine new material.
except for the color, this and the j2 from the show is extremely close to what my brother and I saw around 1970
What program do you use for these?
Poser Pro 2012 for the figures and animation. It's a 3D posing software. Also of course Photoshop for textures etc.
