    Wow. Probably the first mono hull of this size that I’d consider taking over a catamaran of a similar size. Very clever design.

      @@RHP9898 well as long as the keel doesn’t drop off, it’s probably ok. Granted a cat is very unlikely to sink but for sure can flip. Good luck in that situation.

    I am on the side that says this is a better way to lay out the cabins. This one will really give the cats a run for the money.👍

    I reckon half way through! just closed cockpit and protects all weather elements! single helm like a car! and back of boat small kitchen+bbq +fishing platform with cleaning possibilities! cheers!

    Brilliant design, so much room for a 55ft yacht. So we'll thought out to enable private areas for basically 3 couples plus a crew area and still have massive sheltered common areas and haven't touched the deck yet?
    Very impressive for a 55ft yacht!

    Very interesting and innovative design. I am especially impressed with the cockpit area. Access the engine compartiment from there, like the Amels, is very convenient. Not being able to access the guest cabins through inside the yacht seems very inconvenient though. I expect other design options are available. Congrats to Jeanneau!

      I agree with the comment. I love the hard dodger and cockpit area around that…not sure I want to climb into one of the guest cabins while healing over on passage! I feel that will be impractical.

      ... sure, but if you're talking about your toddlers I'm not so sure them being locked out on the outside is safe or practical. You are right to a certain degree if you're talking about adult guests if they can negotiate those stairs drunk or underway... but certainly this is not a "family configuration".@@mr.marvelousmess6986

    Amazing. Now I can forget about buying a catamaran. I would love a solid fiberglass arch at the stern to mount solar panels on. Something better looking then the steel archers. Can you please look at such an add on? Otherwise a perfect vessel. Congratulations.

      Hi
      You can have the optional T-Top with sliding centre section which has solar panels on the wings of the roof from the factory. If you didn't want a T-Top then a retro stern arch would be possible

      Yes indeed, now possible on this new Jeanneau Yacht 55. But you can have a traditional spray hood instead if you desire.

    what's the key factor that makes the two aft cabins be different in size?

      The galley on the STBD side is set further back than the saloon on the port side.

    Minor issue but major if you're an actual sailor is the lack of any protective features from the crosswind for those preferring to in fact Captain this vessel from the given helm so, well...good luck!

    don't understand the clear bulkhead in the owners cabin

      Hi
      if you mean the white bulkhead, this essentially creates the door to the owners cabin, hence the pricy required. double doors are used, to make the forward boat section open, to create an owners space.
      One thing to note, the bulkhead is now in wood, so that it blends in with the rest of the design better.

      The yacht has a multitude of sail-plan and rig options to make the yacht more suited to ease of use or increasing SOG.

The point really was for the the presentation, it’s not real-estate, if it’s being sold to sailors we want to know the core key rig and performance data, 30 seconds would do , eg stability index, reaching and close hauled speed in say F4, foresail, rig and keel options. Thanks again, innovative and interesting boat; how would I price one?

Of course more information can be given on request but I didn’t feel I wanted to go that deep on the initial into.     While a beautiful boat, I'm no fan of that layout. Don't think noise would be any different based on the cabin across doors.. the ease of galley access would be worth more..

      For a 55ft yacht is it substantial bearing in mind that it houses a shower and toilet with two berths. Also, a 55ft yacht is rarely used with a skipper, but the option is there if required or for occasional excess guests or children 👍

      It would not be used long term, good extra berth or teenagers bolthole. Very useful for skippered charter too. I like it.

    Shhhhhh, don’t tell anyone the price! It’s only a boat for sale, the price is not important at all. Why would any potential buyer want to know that information?

      This is because the price depends on exchange rates, delivery locations and options. The price can be sent on application.

    It's a marina caravan! The cockpit in a storm? Forget it! When a person mentions the word 'lovely' 10 times you know that it's not sea passage focused but marina focused. And the owners apartment?! Sorry guys, this is a marina caravan not a serious sailing yacht.

      It has probably been designed like many boats for the med market. Most yachts never undertake any major sailing voyages so there is nothing wrong in designing boats for a specific market. Plenty of boats have been designed for "serious" sailing eg Amel, Oyster, Nautor Swan, HR, Sirius etc etc. Horses for courses.

      @@woolyimage My boat is based in Italy and last year we had a well publicised 70+ knot storm plus the usual mistral high winds blows. The Med is not a pond.

      @@RHP9898 I am well aware of that, but it has plenty of marinas, even if they tend to be a bit expensive. Nearly bought a boat in italy a few years back, it was in a marina near Rosignano Solvay. Lovely place and I had a nice holiday but we just couldn't agree on a price. I think most of these are destined for the charter market.

      I agree, but other than moving the cockpit cushions inside, which you would do with any boat in a storm, the boat would offer the helmsman more protection in a storm instead of being exposed at the back of the boat

      Not for the charter market at all, most sold are to private owners.
