I discovered this song on a college station when I was visiting mammoth lakes California. I remember going to grab firewood for my cabin in the car and this song came on. It was outright haunting and fit the vibe perfectly. Desolate, full moon on the lake, cold out and you could see about every star because there is no light pollution there.a perfect song to fit the desolate roads there at night. The funny thing is I had no idea who the artist was but ended up finding it years later....
OMG First: gotta love college stations! Second: I love your comment so much! I love that the song goes with that memory. Goodness I feel like I’m there. Gosh, I love when that happens like when the song fits the vibe of whatever it is you are doing. Thanks for sharing! So lucky it was this song. LOL I’m jealous.
I can not ever get sick of this song, and I listen to it at least 5 times or more everyday, and it never gets stuck in my head like the cheap shit you hear on the radio. There is something strange about this song.
Just bought me the Suzanne EP... Will be receiving "Suzanne" shortly. I already have "On the doorway again"... Although i have all her albums (from Opal to Mazzy Star to Warm Inventions) in Cds or on vinyl... I regard the tracks in those two EPs essential!
Lyrics: I thought I’d fall for you ‘Cause you’re indifferent This could be hard for you That’s where we’re different Me I’m not further from All your looks after all You, you’re so proud of you In here, that’s your secret I thought you were lonely Collapsing all around You’re even far away You’ll never hit the ground I feel unhappy Now that I’m over you But there’s nothing else to do Say you feel the same Say you feel the same Just like Day casts a shadow The moonlight casts the sky Day casts a shadow The moonlight casts the sky Day casts a shadow Moonlight casts the sky Day casts a shadow The moonlight casts the sky (the sky) The day casts a shadow The moonlight casts the sky (the sky) The day casts a shadow The moonlight…
Besides the obvious (well deserved anyway) "hits" of Hope there are these little gems hidden in the the EPs that make you wonder why weren't they included in the original albums... Songs like "I'd thought you'd fall for me","Sparkly","These things",and "Down the steps" are too good by anyones measure to be left out... Nick Drake would be very proud of Hope...
Wow Ive never really seen Van Goughs work before. They go great with this song. I love the painting of the bedroom where there is an empty chair beside the bed. It says a lot, and the people in his artwork seem to reflect the beaten down by life depression he was going through Thanks.
"... and it never gets stuck in my head like the cheap shit you hear on the radio." Interesting!! I agree, there is something very strange about this song. I felt so odd when I first heard it. It put me in a very weird mood. I just wish I knew all the lyrics.
When I hear Hope, I can't help but close my eye's, shut off all other sense's. Focus just on her voice. I couldn't listen to her while I drive, guess why... (Thank you Moon Mama for sharing)

Quasarville Nights Hi. I have it the right way. I actually like that that’s the title and not the other one. I also Googled just now to make sure and it has it the way I have it.

this woman never disappoints
She simply trusted her instincts and created her own lane. There is no one like her. So hypnotizing….So deep …. Thank you Hope, you’re wonderful 😍
Yes, there is no one like her.
No amount of Hope Sandoval's voice is enough.
If there was only one song that I could only listen to for the rest of my life this would be the song.
beatiful melancholy sound

Not so much strange as relevant, just..?
Too Beautiful..It gives me a sense of a world I cant get to..
often imitated, never duplicated
she is singular, introverted
post modern yet timeless
this buried b side haunts
like a classic.
i have this on cd -its one of the best singles i have of hope, she is really a tender person... in her lyrics, its like shes serenading you

Yes.. Thats it. Ive been looking for away to describe this song. Its like a realy great dream that you wake up from.
Stunning.
Lyrics:
I thought I’d fall for you
‘Cause you’re indifferent
This could be hard for you
That’s where we’re different
Me I’m not further from
All your looks after all
You, you’re so proud of you
In here, that’s your secret
I thought you were lonely
Collapsing all around
You’re even far away
You’ll never hit the ground
I feel unhappy
Now that I’m over you
But there’s nothing else to do
Say you feel the same
Say you feel the same
Just like
Day casts a shadow
The moonlight casts the sky
Day casts a shadow
The moonlight casts the sky
Day casts a shadow
Moonlight casts the sky
Day casts a shadow
The moonlight casts the sky (the sky)
The day casts a shadow
The moonlight casts the sky (the sky)
The day casts a shadow
The moonlight…
Thanks!
@@michiepooh you’re welcome! had to do my research on this one but the lyrics sound very clear in live versions :)

Check on the paintings of Edward Hopper as well.
We tend to see ourselves in other people. It's like listening to a sad song when the world suddenly becomes sadder, too.
Like being in a dreamy night time world you don't ever want to come back from. Well that's all her songs, but especially this one and son of a lady.
Son of a Lady- I love that one so much.
love Van Gogh...love Hope :)
thank you so much for putting the images and song together - both exquisite for sure
Really beautiful! :)
So dreamy

Aaron Hahn Lovely comment. 💕
@@michiepooh It was typed cordially ;-)
@warpspeeed I looooove "Sparkly"!
Sublime indeed! Well, this song is from an EP. I think the EP is titled "Suzanne."
nice idea to show van Gogh's paintings in a pop video.
"Dominique "❤❤❤

Nice job but I'm pretty sure it's, "I feel unhappy now that I know you. Not now that I'm own you.
@@waywardsylvan5085 thought it was “I feel unhappy….now that I’m over you”.

@Joey69G Thank you.
I put the link to the EP in the video's description.
I have fallen for you lol
STILL DOWN WITH SANDOVAL
Is it "I Thought I'd Fall For You" or "I Thought You'd Fall For Me" ?

You don't need glasses. LOL. I just put the link there. RUclips wouldn't let me post it in a comment.
