Please keep up this work! There’s apparently much more healing available to dystonia patients than doctors are aware of.
Using neuroplastic principals Ive learned to develop new mays to move my body and once it starts to hardwire I actually forget the damaged pathways. Have gone from needing a walker to being back to lift heavy weights and play my guitar again!
I see nothing but reasons to be hopeful now that I’ve stopped listening to the know nothing doctors, please help bring the science of this disease into the 21st century!
I will add that my medical marijuana was VERY helpful in learning to control my nerve impulses. When I got brave enough to start microdosing my progress quickly accelerated and my recovery sped up by 3-5x, the ticks were greatly reduced, and normal functions became easy to learn instead of nearly impossible.

Hyperbaric treatment is something they need to serious research for brain injuries that cause dystonia . My husband is 21 yrs TBI due to a care accident and went through 40 dives of hyperbaric treatment. He was able to remove 2 of his daily medications for dystonia and regained some memory factors back, more energy, etc. Its all 100% oxygen for the hyperbaric treatment. I can't wait for him to go back for more

@@kajungurl52 22 years ago when i was like 21. I had spasms in the sternocleidomastoid muscle which caused neck twisting. I was at hospital, and after every device i was in or hooked on they said im fine and i should see a psychiatrist.

I want to try this as I’m getting better from dystonia myself. I learned first hand there’s a lot you can do yourself… if you see this maybe pass along “neuro plastic principals” to your husband… I was crippled now I lift heavy weights! What Ive learned is there isn’t a single part of my body that I can’t heal with my mind!

as someone with severe dystonia my question is why did it take so long for doctors to figure out that the problem primarily resided in the cerebellum? the role of the cerebellum in the context of movement is to sequence out the muscular contractions, for example walking takes more than flexing and extending one muscle, some muscles turn on and off while others contract isometrically. the problem with dystonia is that signals become "convoluted", causing muscles to fire out of sequence or just at random.
