i always took it similarly but slightly different. i took it as basically somebody who is killed in a shooting is always immortalized in the culture. everybody mourns and swears they’ll never forget the person’s life. however the shooter himself gets fifteen minutes of fame and that falls into obscurity as just another perpetuator of gang violence.

@Willy I agree, maybe I should have worded it better. There is almost no chance that he's right. Yes, it's up to interpretation, but when there is no evidence or reason for an interpretation, it's basically wrong. It's like trying to interpret that line as Kendrick loving pink fluffy unicorns or something. Yeah, art can be interpreted in different ways, but if we just cut the shit for a second, it's obvious he's wrong. (Not trying to sound rude, just making my point clear)

The Jay-Z business line is basically in the national lexicon at this point. People quote that in normal conversations nowadays,
it's damn near perfect if you ask me.
And the Roddie Rich bar I think was underappreciated in this vid. The rest I basically agree with.
Fav bars on this list is hard, but I love the Kendrick or 50 bar. They're not mindblowing but they accomplish what they're trying to convey really well. Also the JID and Tyler bars. I like silly as much as I like profound.

I would argue that Kayne’s lift yourself verse should be higher when you put in perspective that Kanye told Drake he could have the beat and in the process of Drake actually writing lyrics to the beat, Kanye just released lift yourself. So he trolled Drake and still put out a song that everyone could enjoy.
