When people praise the idea of these characters coming back to life to try again, they’re forgetting that the characters in Until Dawn don’t get second chances to try again. If they died… they died. This is a fun gimmick to adapt any other video game adaptation as the player has infinite chances to try again, but Until Dawn played like a movie in which your choices mattered- some choices result in a character’s death. You don’t get to try again if you made a bad choice and killed someone. To defend this movie because “it’s like a video game” is invalid as it does not apply here.
Until Dawn the game tried to be a horror movie. Until Dawn the movie is trying to be a horror game. A lot of people don't understand adapation, especially franchise adaptation.
That moment with the rain... It's so trippy in real life! It happened to me twice. Once, kinda like in the trailer the rain was relatively stationary and the second, a wall of rain chased me down on my way from school 😂
@@patrickrobinsob1464 That's not at all what I got. She asked if he had seen her, and he asked if the girl was missing. As in "why are you looking for her? What happened?" Regardless of how he said it, it's the context of the question from her. Statement, rhetorical or flat out question just walking up to someone and asking if they've seen someone is all that's needed to arrive at the conclusion that they're missing. If someone walked up to me asking if I've seen a dog in a photo I would know just based on that alone that they're must be missing. In others words they would know just by asking.
Which is weird cos in Until Dawn if a character died, they died. The decisions mattered so they're choosing a really weird game to make into a movie using the respawn gimmick
@@MT-UKhonestly it’s not exactly far fetched for this game. I think while making this movie they were looking at it from a player perspective treating it like a person constantly resetting their playthrough to make sure they get the right ending
@@MT-UKBut when you finish playing the game and you got a couple of them dead. You go back to playing it again until they all live. This film is kinda like that.

It was a ps4 game and now they remaking it for ps5 because they know the movie gonna get everyone who played it on ps4 to buy it and the people that never played it gonna buy it
Because theyd rather not have a successful movie couldn’t just learn from the last of us show and how its actually successful if you follow fairly closely to the actual games

I think they are playing on the fact that different players have different villains and different deaths. With this "groundhog day" style, they can capture the randomness of choices that multiple players have had and different ways they have died
I too only played the game once, back n 2015, and how appropriate that this movie is coming out ten years after the game. But in honesty, I do like that this isn't gonna be a straight forward adaptation of the game, but some how sticks to the "Butterfly Effect" asthetic.
Same here this wasn't in the game the hourglass reverting back time and none of the cast except for the guy at the gas station were in the game. We'd all be saying "Why even make this exactly like the game if I could just play the game?"
Honestly, you can't put a game concept like Until Dawn on film without it ending up being just another average horror movie. It is simply difficult (if not impossible) to transfer that experience to the screen.
I mean I guess they had to do something different because if you played the game then you know what happens. I like the creepy guy at the gas station is the Psychologist Doctor that is in the intermissions.
