Fun fact- the girl in red was initially casted for Ayesha Julka’s role and she even shot the whole first schedule which included this song and set pieces in mehboob studios (Aamir’s house) but she couldn’t stay on and complete the film after the first schedule due to other commitments. Ayesha Julka was then recasted to complete the rest of the movie. This song was already shot and we didn’t want to reshoot it for budgetary reasons. We decided to work it in the script as Ayesha’s character not feeling well. The Ayesha scenes in the song were later added as pickup shots. Source - I was an AD on the movie. Amazing days.

The pretty girl in red who is dancing along with Aamir in the song, was actually the first choice as main heroine of the movie instead of Ayesha jhulka. Her name is *Girija Shettar* . She is British girl of Indian origin, who had already worked in 3 movies down south, before JJWS. Her career in cinema didn't last long after JJWS though, as she did just couple of more movies after it. Before replacing her by Ayesha, crew had already shot this song. But rather than reshooting the entire song, director Mansoor Khan, decided to keep it as it is and added portion of Ayesha to it. Apart from girija apparently, even milind soman had completed 75% of his shooting, before getting replaced by Deepak tijori. Deepak was rejected at first for the same role, during auditions along with akshay kumar. Many careers, probably would have shaped differently had all these changes would not have been made.
She was looking more beautiful than most of actresses of that era.
Actually when I first saw this movie I thought the girl was really pretty and talented. I was wondering why Ayesha wasn't in the song because normally they have the main actress dancing every opportunity they get. Now I know. I actually like it. Looked realistic.

In 1992, she signed for the lead role in Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar, which she left mid-way to complete a prior commitment. Ayesha Julka replaced her after the first schedule. In the same year, she starred in another Telugu film Hrudayanjali, under the direction of A. Raghurami Reddy, which won four Nandi awards. The film was completed in 1992 but was released only in 2002.
