Fantastic flying and review, Mario!!! 😃 Really great quad! Perhaps that's the 7" frame I'm going to get! I really liked it! Anyway, stay safe there with your family! 🖖😊
Yep, I still really much enjoy the copter. It is really light and efficient. With o3 I don't need another cam. Combined with a good liion pack (which I will test and show soon), it is a great combo.
Hi, try the HQ J75 props. They are my favourite out of all (yes, tried all 7" props out there). Also if you like silent props, try the HQ 5x4x6 props on this 7". The motor matches very well. Very smooth and quiet. Grüße
@@Rcschim yes, it is a 5" prop with 6 blades. The pitch is hardcore, so the many baldes and high pitch makes it suitable for a typical 7" motor. Dont let the fact that it is a 5" bother you. There is nothing a 7" can do, that a 5" cant too 😆
@@rctom1 you loose about 20% efficiency and top end thrust vs a normal 7" prop. The HQ 5x4x6 is just much more silent and smooth. I need stealth with all the laws and Karens out there. Worth a try buying for 3 Bucks
Hehe, the trusty, rusty AClass ;) Do you remember the TV commercial with Mika Häkkinen and Boris Becker? One of these still drove an AClass after 30yrs because of some warranty thing. Mine is now almost 23yrs ;)
Those HQ 7x4x3 props fixed my problems with the Chimera 7, but they made my C7 feel a little too "floaty." I want to try the 7x3.5 next. I can't believe iFlight used to ship the C7 with thin Gemfans that would bend at less than mid throttle. I would get still get a little Jello (had to pixel peep) even on the GoPro 10. Now I can use the stock BF 4.3 tune/filters without it vibrating to death. Also, the TPU antenna holder and long antennas on the C7 causes Jello too. I replaced it with a stiffer print and shorter antennas. Jello/vibration problems are now gone. Thanks for the reviews, tests, and the beautiful scenery. I always look forward to your next video. Die Berge sind wunderschön. Ich möchte ein Tag Österreich besuchen und natürlich dorthin fliegen. I hope that made sense. I wish I could speak German half as well as you speak English.
I remember trying some different props on the c7. You might be right with tpu parts and their effect on jello. Will test this myself. And also will upgrade to bf 4.4. Your German sentence almost was correct ;) "Eines Tages möchte ich Österreich besuchen und natürlich auch dort fliegen!"
Another great video, Mario! I certainly favour the HQ props on most of my quads, but use 7.5" on my Chimera7. Be interesting to see a range test with that short antenna on the Aura7, compared to the dual antenna set-up on the longe range quads like the Chimera7 V2 and the BOB57 V2. Thanks again for your review and for sharing that amazing scenery with us as well! 🙏👍
Hi there great info Just trying to set up GPS rescue in BF4.4 what did you set your hover point for the Chimera 7 Mine hovers around 35% throttle running no GoPro Auline 3300mha 6s LiPo Thanks for your help 😊👍
hi, from my most recent (a while ago) BF settings TXT: set gps_rescue_throttle_hover = 1280 my chim7 still runs a very old BF - I never wanted to touch it ;) but now I guess I will also update to 4.4.0
@@Rcschim thanks for that so if you put 1280 throttle hover on the right hand side of the failsafe tab under GPS rescue What value throttle did you ‘SET’ on left hand side of the page under channel fallback settings Should it be slightly higher than the hover point Thanks for your help 😊👍
the left side can be on auto. only on the AUX channel which is also your GPS RTH button / the panic button, there I manually set to 1000 - which is the position of my GPS RTH mode channel to activate RTH. not sure if this is still neccesary, but in case the RX has a failsave, I want to be sure that it sets GPS RTH. Bardwell has some more indepth GPS setup videos on BF for sure :)
It's not bad. It's just a bit badly placed not sticking out behind the battery enough. Range is medium, but funny you can very much get away with as low as 3mbit - just unsharp but buttery smooth. You can upgrade it with any DJI ufl connector antennae (2 of them). I'd probbably go with long truerc singularities. They work exceptionally well on my mars with orig airunit and i expect no less on the new system.
hi, I don't think so ;) I could make one but in the meantime your best stop would be Oscar Liangs blog. He has awesome tutorials on things like that. Search for openTX telemetry and you should find something. Basically you just have to check the "telemetry" option in betaflight (or inav), have the Crossfire RX connected with 4 wires (in CRSF mode with RX and TX to FC). then you can "discover" sensors on your Tango2 (one of the last pages in the menu), and in the telemetry section of this menu you then choose which variables to see on the screen. if you want to improve this further, you can access these variables and make audio alerts. (for example, my tango2 now warns me, if it has to increase the output power from normal 25mw to something higher). hope this helps, happy flying!
@@SpAcE-gAdGeT check this link: oscarliang.com/crossfire-betaflight/ scroll down to about 55% of the page and find "Telemetry" chapter. You even get a nice overview of all the variables. I always use these: CURR (volts) CAPA (mah) ALT SATS (number of sats lets me know how long GPS will take until I can savely take off) TIMER1 RQLY (crossfire link quality) tpwr (dynamic crossfire output power - this indicates if signal gets low, power increases) GPS (coords just in case)
With regards to Dobo... Even if he did wait for the sat lock and the whole kwad lost power perhaps due to a faulty regulator then GPS wouldn't of helped at all.....
Yeah, probbably right. We will never know. If it was a esc bec underpower shutting down then DJI o3 (and thus his RC link) the crash could have been prevented. I would just NEVER fly over such a huge lake without proper gps lock and the safety net ;)
hey man, i really liked the foxeer props, for the convenience of being foldy i thought they looked smooth enough. did you get the metal center spindle thingy? like rimzler used? also are you gonna get an edit of these flights out? the music was well worth a longer edit.
Hi Mac! Yep, those are the new v3 ones. The plastic hubs of the older fold props were a bit squeeky over time. I will fly some more and then cut a music vid, not much left of these flights for a vid ;) Had only one sunny day in the 2 weeks I have this copter now. Glad that it was a Sunday and I got to fly enough. Greets, Mario
Great winter flying and flight video. Nice review of Aura 7" too. Those quiet propellers are (14:30) not only sound nice, they saving energy. ♥😎👍 BTW: think it's Aura 7", not Aura7 .. as that didn't produce any search results. Would be curious if the Aura support INAV? Think ig should with F722 FC, but can not verify. Having 'position hold' is a great feature, as would the new 'trace path back to home' (RTH) coming with INAV 6.
Thanks for the title suggestion, probbably better to seperate the 7 from Aura for better search... I wonder if the viewcount here is a bit lower because I (initially) opted to leave away the pre roll ad? Now I've enabled it not to make the YT algorithm angry ;) It's a bit like the superstitious cavemen ;) I will for sure test INAV on one of my copters when INAV 6 is out.

16cm from Antennas in the back to Gopromount (if you use one) or 21cms if no gopromount is used, 4cm wide
