I guess Michi is the Chinese word “密集”, which means “dense”

As far as I can tell, the true origin of the name is lost to time. The main two etymologies I've heard repeated are: (1) short for "Michigan", a US state well-known for having lots of forest; or (2) from the Japanese word for road/path "道", either because you have to cut a path through the trees to start the action, or because the trees make a path across the map.
Another possibility is that it's the name of the guy who made the first version of it way back in the MSN gaming zone days
@neillai9792 I haven't heard this theory before. Standard pinyin for "密集" would be "mìjí", but Wade-Giles would be "michi" (ignoring tone), so it's possible

Kinda agreed. I would start by removing all stone. They can still buy from market, but that would slow down the towers a lot.

@@MrCrimsonhermit Probably, but it is hard to find out how to do this on random maps. But RMS (Random Map Script) allows effect statements that change unit and building stats. Forest Nothing Ultra Small reduces TC arrows to 0.

Margougou could have trebbed down every single tree in the map before the Wonder countdown would have ended.
If he only used the trebs to cut through the trees on his side and made some units to push the cannons, he would of been ok.
Running, next time open with Block Printing monks before the wonder. :)
Trade offers gold per second depending on the percentage of the map you cover, so 12 gold in a tiny route is way more than you’d expect

I’ve played this map twice lost both times by a player rushing imp then trebs. My second attempt I tried Khmer elephants and cutting before he reached imp. He converted my elephants and I still lost

These are fun at high elo, you get to see players at their best, no distractions, everything within vision and under control. Just who plays the better card wins
This just proved to me that the only way to make high elo matches fun is to introduce new mechanics to the games they play, so the players have to adapt instead of grinding out the same old meta strategies, fearing to try anything new because they might 😱😱 LOSE 😱😱
TBH this already got stale because they see that a tower rush is the way to go and that's all you get if the map isn't closed, like here.

Nope. It goes up for bigger maps but not proportionally if I remember correctly. Spirit of the Law did a video on it (edit: apparently he didn't)
Yah u are right, it is directly proportional. In all map sizes, carts will give 26 gpm if the rout is the entire map side
@kiarnturner9739 no, he did. Just wasn't a dedicated trade cart video. I can't remember which exact video, but he did a small breakdown of how trade os calculated

Maps like this HAVE to be even/fair. 3 relics on one side and two on the other AND the market isn't tight in the corner for the player with 2 relics equaling worse pathing and less distance for the trade?

somebody should attempt a wonder victory on a map like this right after building archery ranges on a neutral island and placing his farms far away from his town center
lol it was a good try from running but I think if he went monks instead of making trebs he could have pushed the first few bombards back and been really annoying. He just didn't imp fast enough and tbf the map was totally against him and unfair.
