A few takeaways from our first day actually giving this a real try While this was EXTREMELY fun, and a fantastic challenge to try and push through our previous best, memorizing routes and what not.....It's a bit mind numbing repeating the initial few dungeons without variance in how they play - I also think there's an issue with acquiring perk potions being fun and strategic, but ultimately I think it's a bit too quick of a power scaling jump. This could change on another run however. I'm almost torn. It's fun knowing what dungeon comes next and planning ahead for it, but it kind of stinks retracing footsteps. We also did remove the starting debuff. Fun in concept, but for these early stages it's not obvious to the viewer and more annoying than fun. It's an interesting experiment. Certainly number 1 needed feature in my mind is the ability to randomize the dungeon order. I'm trying to think through a good checkpoint system. Inns and vendors seem like a good bet for checkpoints...what setback does the player face when that happens? Will try and answer a few of these questions then give it another shot tomorrow.
Perhaps you get a debuff on death and it gets removed on a level up or you could pay to get rid of it at a checkpoint. The debuff idea is really cool but not as gamechanging as the potions so they might not be worth the effort, I can see both sides here
@@augustdenger8231 It's a great idea! One fun thing about this experiment...it's a great lesson to all of us on how astronomically difficult game balance is. So many variables, playstyles and things to consider/try out

Joov the difference between vegetarian and vegan is actually really simple A vegetarian doesn’t eat meat. A vegan doesn’t eat animal product. Some vegans are different in what they consider an animal product due to their philosophy on it, but vaguely speaking any animal product is not vegan. So a vegetarian would eat cheese but a vegan would not. For some vegans it goes further, as some for the same reasons they won’t eat animal product will not use animal product, which for obvious reasons includes leather which might be challenging in the world of Skyrim
I’m watching this immediately after finishing all the vods for the one inventory slot challenge, and I keep getting confused that you’re picking up multiple items
I was talking with a friend about how a Skyrim roguelike would work so well if put together properly. And I said if anybody would do it, it would be you. So excited to see where this goes from here.
Very nice mod! Altho it seems to be tailored to your very playstyle, favoring the action-y melee, or archer characters, to the detriment of sorcerer or crafting characters. My suggestion would be, instead of having an ordinary store every five levels, why not repurpose the upgraded Ragged Flagon so each of the four merchants offer something different (have one blacksmith, one alchemist, one court mage, and one general store). Tonilia could offer curiosities (items/spells/materials exclusive to the Dawnguard/Dragonborn DLC, maybe even unique items and artifacts). And lastly, in addition to the innkeeper, cooking pot, and bed already present, maybe throw in a full set of crafting tables plus a smelter. And every five dungeon floors, you get to visit the Flagon once again to re-equip before the next set of floors. The adventure might even start there, giving mage characters a chance to purchase spells that aren't Flames or Healing.
Didn't I see The Spiffing Brit get bamboozled by the same puzzel? Hilarious and frustrating at the same time 😅 great concept. I have to admit that after the second restart I never want to see those dungeons again 😂
