@idioticstudiogames Wrong. *Every* major 8-bit machine from around 1982 onward had at least 15 colours. (ZX Spectrum: 15 colours. Commodore 64: 16 colours. Amstrad CPC: 17 colours from a palette of 27. NES: 25 colours from a palette of 48. Commodore Plus/4: 121 colours. Amstrad CPC+: 32 colours from a palette of 4096.)
@BlissfulKnightBlade No, the nyan cat song originally was called "Nyanyanyanyaya!" and sung by Miku Hatsune (the song was composed by Daniwell-P, Miku is a Vocaloid and shes actually a singing synthesizer software). Someone created a much cuter cover of this song, which is the one sung by Momo Momone. This is the one that was used in the nyan cat video (its now know better known as just the nyan cat song) The creator gave Daniwell-P credit in the description and his song was used with permission
@Edward256 8 bits are only the amount of bits the processor could process at once. the graphics could be better or worse depending on the extra chips they shoved in other than just the main CPU to accelerate painting or do special effects.
@xxblackmagnoliaxx13 If this takes up an entire screen it's not like any 8-bit games I played. The pixels are massive; gaming would be almost impossible. It's an 8-bit machine or emulator I guess but not what I think of as 8-bit graphical resolution. I think you're right that the original was 16-bit though; I think this is what 8-bit would look like at the same size.
SWEEET A TI/99/4A LOADING SCREEN WITH REAL TI SOUNDS,but I doubt the TI could handle those kinds of colors in its 16 color color pallete, but then again,I could be wrong, since the colecovision and TI/99/4A share similar graphics filters and setups.
@gamma830 FALSE. Jpeg compression is not used in any original 8-bit systems, and low bitrates have different interpolation today so they lose their original 8-bit tone. So overall, it's most 8-bit in the highest resolution.
@DerStadtschutz I grew up with them as well. Maybe it doesn't sound like that to you but it does to almost everyone else. Look at the top rated comments.
@PPhockey89 you forget atari blu ray 1080p XBOX 1080p youtube 1080p 720p 480p nintendo wii 320p 240p nintendo 64 SNES (original nyan cat) NES atari this video
Love the authenticity of the 8 bit music, im tired of hearing midi files that use vst's !!!!
@TheTrickyCookie lol minecraft is awesome but something like 8-bit XD if u know what I mean

This video gives a true indication of how far along technology has advanced. This was truly amazing!
@VonHohenstaufen When I made this replie the comment was 10 years old,now is 11 years.
Nyan cat
press start
This may be 8 bit, but it has the sound and graphics of a 4-bit system. 16x16 resolution and 16 colors equals 4-bit graphics.
This is 6 bit. xP
Wait what
needs a 10 hour version.

looks and sounds exactly like an OLD school computer video game. awesome job.

What would the objective of the game be? To watch a cat? 10/10
nice one! I only knew of my own chiptune version, and bunnymajs' one, glad to find this one too!
@SHsurreal no it isnt, its 16-bit or something...
i keep finding old comments by famous youtubers
The nostalgia overwhelms me
@ThrillBillMusic Actually, the origina was closer to 16 bit. More SNES then NES. Just sayin...
This really dies sound like the kind of music you'd hear in some 8-Bit game. Not just because it's 8-Bit, but the music itself
OMG 12 years ago?!!
@@AlexandraTeodoraJurcoi you mean that I've had that "dies" instead of "does" typo just sitting there for 12 years!?
@@FangzVBro what? What the heck you said? I just said "OMG 12 years ago?!!" And you said these in ur replie?
LOL@@FangzV
Somebody can actually develop this.
Seems easy enough.
this had just made my love for 8 bit music even greater somehow.

240 bit: For once I Appreciate.

it do not look like a cat
No I see a rat
@TheDragonflyzero I love how the second top rated comment goes with the first top rated comments whilst it is actually responding to a different user.
More like 4bit.
to me its like 64bit
Nyan Cat.
Only for the Nintendo Entertainment System. Now you're playing with power!
Good bye world.............
OK! See you soon Sami Jodeux!
That is not the real nayan cat.
Silly RUclipsrs! Nayan cat all ready 8bit!!!!!
It's just the way I spell it
That's not nyan cat
Cheyenne Miller It wasn't 8-Bit. It was 16-bit. You are one bit short of a byte.
@Edward256 8 bits are only the amount of bits the processor could process at once. the graphics could be better or worse depending on the extra chips they shoved in other than just the main CPU to accelerate painting or do special effects.
@Melonfury No, it was 16-bit. Much like the gameboy advance graphics, SNES (Otherwise known as the Super Nintendo), etc.
@xxblackmagnoliaxx13 If this takes up an entire screen it's not like any 8-bit games I played. The pixels are massive; gaming would be almost impossible. @Robfire10 4-bit has 16 colours. 8-bit has 256, 16-bit has >65k, and 32-bit has >16.7million. An x-bit colour palette has 2^x colours in it.
THIS IS: "TU CAT" NOW AND NOT: "NYAN CAT" LOL!!!😎
Wow cool, Nyan Cat is now available for the ZX-80 too.
Now 8bit
@Mapleopian no he was in about 32 bit.
@galladegirl1 It was a 16-bit home gamging console from the 90's The first console made by SEGA.
@TavinUndertaker they are classic games but there 8-bit...thats what makes them cool
This is awesome in 480p!
@lazerlight2010 the music in the original is just music, but the actual video is 8-bit/16-bit.
if i had a dollar for every bit this video is in, id have 1 dollar
epic
I have a 16-bit mac from 2003 and i was surprised it could keep up with this.
everything is better in 8-bits
idd, the 240p gives it the authentic 8-bit sound D: cool :D
Ah, these pixels are nostalgic.
actually made my day :')
This is why I love MIDI files more than WAV or MP3
i keep watching these trying to get Friday out of my head
@DerStadtschutz But changing it to 240p makes it sound how 8 bit really sounded instead of how it does today through modern speakers.
@khorikhan A wild Nyancat appaerd.
Nyancat used "Nyan".
It's supereffective!
xD
The day this video was made is 24 April, and my birthday is on 24th April!
1080p, you may think is good and clear and BEAUTIFULLNESS
In 240p, 8-Bit is true to its roots
this is awesome.
@MMDAMV There's no such thing as 4 bit. Just due to the way computers work.
No, this is 8-bit, zoomed in to 1600%.
@lasong2000 atari and the original nes were both 8 bit consoles just different processors
AWESOME i love the beginning
SWEEET A TI/99/4A LOADING SCREEN WITH REAL TI SOUNDS,but I doubt the TI could handle those kinds of colors in its 16 color color pallete, but then again,I could be wrong, since the colecovision and TI/99/4A share similar graphics filters and setups.
@shinobiserpent actually, it was 16-bit.
@shinobiserpent No, it was 16-Bit, And also the song obviously wasnt 8-bit and that was the whole point of the video
@The212b i know i just joking...but 8 bit means at its 8 bit music and it means at its made 8x8 bits...
(i know my english is such)
You should've called it Nyan Cat *_Distorted_* Version. HAHAHAHAA
goin back to the 80s!
@TheDragonflyzero no, its 8-bit. search it on know your meme site and read the first line.
@mezlay2 actually the 8bit lines were very clear
@gamma830 FALSE. Jpeg compression is not used in any original 8-bit systems, and low bitrates have different interpolation today so they lose their original 8-bit tone. So overall, it's most 8-bit in the highest resolution.
Such GREAT GRAPHIS =D
@li23am no hes 16 bit this is 8 bit any more pixelated and he could be like the atari 2600 or odysee!
Yes it's 4 bit. It has about 16 colors. 4bit = 4x4=16
Kids: mom can we have nyan cat?
mom: no we have nyan cat at home.
Nyan cat at home:
edit: imagine waking up at 3am and seeing this on ut tv screen
This was the first video i ever favourited :D
@ForsakenThirteen This is 4-bit. The original was 8-bit!
Oh, wow, he made a mistake on what bit it's in. That's so important. I think it sounds awesome. Stop complaining.
I decided to watch in 240p... best choice ever
I swear, if I see another "tumbs up if 240p is tue 8bit lol" comments on 8-bit song videos, I'ma blow a gasket.
@RusticKey minecraft is 32bit... it just uses 16x16 textures
tihs is confusing yet awesome at the same time
this is the original love it
@DerStadtschutz I grew up with them as well. Maybe it doesn't sound like that to you but it does to almost everyone else. Look at the top rated comments.
@ThePloteron the nyan-cat 8-bit is the original XD
oh god that little bopping head is too funny and cute for words
@KimmiePinkPanda14 Actually, Nyan Cat was 16 bit. :3
@HiddenVictory1337 But that was all that came to mind. That, and mushroom-jumping Italians.
@Kazdal567
A little more like this:
Nyan Cat was already 8-bit.

@WarcraftKeygen it was basically 8 bit anyways...now it just looks kinda bad. I do like the 8 bit version of the song though.
For all of you saying that nyan cat was 8bit...
The song isn't. This one's is.
My head exploded...
Classic Nyan Cat:Cookie for body
Modern Nyan Cat:Pop-tart fot body
this was actually pretty amusing...
@THETEXASMAN28 The original was 16 bit.
OMG :O I'M SO EXITED *-*
love it!
@li23am Actualy, the original is 16bit.
