1:25 "(TQQQ) has smaller decreases when the price falls sharply" - is that correct? If TQQQ is triple leveraged, doesn't that mean it would decrease by 3x the amount?

Hi Could anyone please explain to a beginner investor (me) why long term investing in TQQQ is not better than QQQ since both are always going up? 10 years investment in TQQQ should return 3x the money QQQ returns!? As TQQQ does not liquidate all your money if it drops below certain point like leveraged crypto does for instance, what is the main risk? If it drops, just wait till goes back up!? QQQ goes down 10% in a month, TQQQ goes down 30%, than QQQ recovers and then puts another 20% extra in next 6 months and TQQQ recovers and puts 60% in the same amount of time, if that's corect I am happy to get all in this 😂 Any advice please? 😊
can i please check with you or anyone reading this. lets say the total returns for QQQ for 3 years is +30%, does this mean that the returns for TQQQ during the same period will be +90%?
Hi, it depends on the price action and the historical period you select. The TQQQ tries to achieve 3x the daily performance of the Nasdaq 100 - fees. I've found that during strong Nasdaq uptrends TQQQ gains more than 3x QQQ. During strong downtrends it can lose slightly less than 3x QQQ. During flat and choppy markets it tends to underperform 3x QQQ. This is what Proshares says: www.proshares.com/our-etfs/leveraged-and-inverse/tqqq
If TQQQ is 3x leveraged does that mean the TQQQ options will have a higher % gain compared to QQQ options? I see a lot of things about long term investment for TQQQ could a person day trade TQQQ/SQQQ options and have better returns than just buying QQQ options?
no they don't, tqqq IV is 3x IV of qqq, so the premiums are priced taking that into consideration already so a 1% gain on qqq and 3% gain on tqqq you'll get the same % gain on their respective calls more or less
Hi, I was planning to day trade tqqq by buying on support levels from qqq and spy and now I'm confused about the .95 fee that I read about, would I have to pay that on my day trades?
I'm still trying to figure out how many shares of this tqq or sqq would one need in order to make a reasonable amount of profit because if you hold long-term you suffer time decay or am I misunderstanding something altogether about holding the tqqq and sqqq
Forget about time decay- if it happens it won't be for long. Look at a long term chart- the problem is getting giddy when its High, and then leaving your stomach behind when it loses 80% .. I'm a long term holder ( relatively speaking). You simply need to keep adding...

Indeed. I've watched several videos on TQQQ, SQQQ, and other leveraged funds, and no one ever points out the .95%, or higher, expense ratio. It seems that you have to make at least about 1% just to break even, so if you bought in at $100, and you sell off at $105, you've made $4. (Unless there's something I'm missing?)
