Wow , I love that way you where so careful and caring with others!♥️ I always wanted to do this hike, but since I got a permanent vertigo condition, it’s hard to admit that I will never be able to do it .😓
Looks like a fantastic hike, but I am afraid I would have to be hooked onto the line like the one lady was using. Mainly due to not trusting others, it's definitely steep and if anyone lost their grip due to loosing strength in their hands and arms, and they could take out a few people sliding down. Actually, considering the steep incline and crowds I am amazed more people don't die!
This (and the ascending video) are fantastic. This is on my bucket list for sure, and hopefully I'll be doing it next summer. Seems like you need a tad more patience on the descent than you do ascending.
I did this in late August '02. No lottery but still about the same number of people. Assuming uphill has the right of way we would jump outside the cable to let them pass and also pass people stopping or going backward, which is slower and more work. Even in that very steep part we were able to lean back and hang on with one hand and keep moving. Not brave or impatient just ignorance and it worked for at least 20 of us cause people in front and behind us were doing the same thing. and the carabiner lady clipping on the way up no less, just imagine how long it took for her to get down
I really do believe I would freeze up and freak out and not be able to get back down, does that ever happen and if so what would they be able to do to help someone??
You need a permit. If you google half dome permits or search the national park service for half dome permits, you'll find all the info you need. I'd post the link but youtube doesn't allow links in comments for obvious reasons.
Great video! very detail good quality. We did the hike 6/25/13 the weather was not too good but we did it any way. Cloudy and misty but by the time we got to the bottom of the cable the rock was dry enough. The good thing was it was not crowded at all
Cool video! What head camera did you use? It's really good quality. Want to get one as going to be going Yosemite as well as other destinations in the South West USA, but need a good quality one. If you could let me know then that would be great :)
Very cool perspective thanks for sharing... extra props because your so polite on the trail
I love how considerate you were to others, great video.

Nice video, I miss half dome, its once in a lifetime experience..
Great video.....I missed too!!!! But glad we experienced it!
Amazing view
There should be two cable paths. One for up and one for down. That would take a bit of stress out of it.
I could never do it but enjoyed watching both climb and descent.
I have never felt such anxiety in my own bed!!
You just put a new thing on my bucket list. Very nice video. Thanks for sharing!

The more years this has the smoother it will get. Walking outside is probably easier for this reason.
Thanks for posting the descent. You have to pay attention but it doesn't look as bad as I expected. The worst part seems to be the traffic jams.
Thank god for GO Pro.
A stroll down Mainstreet,
I really do believe I would freeze up and freak out and not be able to get back down, does that ever happen and if so what would they be able to do to help someone??
Rangers would get you. But it's best to use your own judgment. Plenty of people make it halfway up, then decide to head back down.
Great videos, going up and going down !!!
How long did you guys stayed at the top/summit??
You need a permit.

I,m glad I did,nt have to put the poles and cables up there.
Great video! very detail good quality.

do you need a permit to climb it or can you just show up and climb it
That kid going down on the left hand side though. Lul
You had great weather too!
How this is allowed is beyond me.
Страшно красиво!
What the heck is wrong with these people? They need to keep moving. This waiting would piss me off.
