I think this series by Nakayama Sensei is the one I like most of all. I wish Shotokan organisations would stop playing around with kata & just leave it all alone for us mere mortals to try & get right as best we can. Of course that's just my humble opinion. :-(
Kata in the JKA, ISKF and IKD have remained pretty much the same as these videos. In the IKD, the Shihan Kai are researching sources to standardize the kata. Best karate, along with these videos are the main source. If you look at the books, the Japanese, English and photos sometimes are different. And furthermore, sometimes differ form the videos. So looking at all 4 and taking whatever is consistent as correct. Also our Chief Instructor was present when some of the books were being photographed in Japan. So he knows of what Nakayama was presenting.
Excellent. Thanks.
Excellent kata demonstration. Ludicrous bunkai.
Would you still find it ludicrous minus the music?
@@ZephaniahLAbsolutely. The goofy music actually fits the sad excuse for bunkai quite well.
❤❤❤
