the fall vibes are perfection 🎃 literally starting Queen of Shadows this week and so nervous lol
*SPOILERS FOR LIGHTS OUT AHEAD*
I definitely get where you're coming from on his personality switch- it was super weird to me after I had some time after finishing it... I do think that him accidentally killing the guy broke him down and that all stemmed from his past with his dad and how he was terrified to be like him. like all of a sudden it went super deep into his past and his character. since i listened to the audiobook, i just kind of rolled with the punches and didn't have a ton of time to really think about it to register the switch-up in the moment... but I was also fully in the mood to like really dive into the psych side of things for him since that part of the book really intrigued me and I was curious why it kept popping up. so like it makes sense why he had the switch up, it just felt so sudden with how the book was built up until that point.
The first half of the book was moving forward with just the hot stalker vibe and was kind of misleading to how the book was going to flesh out. You expect that to be the full book; like there's some 3rd act miscommunication or something, and wrap it up. This went from one "typical" storyline direction and did a full 180 seemingly out of nowhere. Definitely after mulling it over the last few days, rating went from 4.5 to 4. Still loved it!
