I really enjoy the video. I grew up in ohio.Yes parents had a garden. I have always wanted a greenhouse, Just like yours ..I do know around the greenhouse,,, I am in Maine now, Thinking that Maybe South Carolina might be the best area,
I am not sure if there is a best area for a greenhouse as they can be designed to work in different climates. Marketing is also a big consideration for building a commercial greenhouse. Good luck!

Pretty slick how you have the lights hook up to your thermometer to drop the intensity down. I would love to do something like but it would be a bit different….if it get hit it would bring me a cold beer 😁. You guys have a fantastic Christmas!

The vacuuming is probably the most important thing. People don't realize how much pest prevention starts with a clean space. They think because "it's just a bit of leaf and it's only a greenhouse" that it doesn't have to be clean. (tell that to the thrips, aphids and mites I say)

Hey Katy can you give us a guide on what sort of EC/PPM you use for seedlings and young pants such as beans and tomatoes?
Good question. For seedlings, because it's easier for me I use the lettuce formula and the ec is 1.8 in the winter and 1.5 in the summer. Once the beans, tomatoes and cucumbers are transplanted into the bato bucket I use a vine crop nutrient formula with an ec of 2.0. Hope this answers your question.

Newbie question here! What do you do with the oasis cubes when you are done with them? Can they be composted?
yes, we compost and then use it in our bedding and flowers around the farm.
This might be a dumb question... I know little about hydroponics and greenhouse growing...but on the farm growing in soil we dust beans (soy, green and peas in the garden and ground cover peas) with an inoculant for nitrogen fixing... apparently this is not necessary hydroponically?
no since the nutrient formula is providing the nitrogen and we are not trying to pull it out of the soil no inoculants are necessary

we will do a video on that but for now everything is growing in the same size channel
How is mater, cucumber and beans growth solution different for each.
it's not they are all vine crops, so they grow great on same solution
Warning concerning vermiculite. both vermiculite and perlite are mined materials, but vermiculite tends to occur nearby asbestos, whereas perlite does not. It isnt uncommon to find traces of asbestos in this material. I very much recommend going perlite exclusive in future grows, and try not to jostle your current mix, especially without tight fitting masks.
My mask was fitted for me and is very tight. I always use it when filling bato buckets. The bags say they do not contain asbestos, and I think by law they would have to say. Merry Christmas!
