Seeing wizard as Beelstarmon's trait will always be funny to me because it makes me imagine a wizard pulling out a glock like, "I cast, bust a cap in yo ass."
Hilariously, my wife showed me a post earlier in which a wizard in DND said.. oops out of mana. Guess I'm using American magic and proceeds to whip out a gun XD. I was dying of laughter.
As a new player trying to start building the first deck, I think part of the reason for the musketeer revision might just be to make it playable out of a box in some capacity without needing to buy old cards, and those old cards feeling like ticking time bombs with being generic 7 mem support? Ex7 feels designed as an onboarding set using liberator as an anime equivalent to sell new decks, and as long as violet doesn’t get sidelined too hard like most YGO side characters do they can keep printing support with a better goal. Then again maybe I’m just seeing ex7 as an incredible onboarding resource because of how bad my main game’s creator is at onboarding per set (YGO) and see the bare minimum as an improvement
Definitely an onboarding set for Liberator in my mind, but also feels unpolished to the point for some of the archetypes. A new Hina and even additional members for Nature Spirits would've made the deck much better in my opinion. For now, we'll wait and see what happens.
Two ways they could have done this. Curb the Beelstar aspects and improve the the other two. Improve all three but deal with power creep later. XD Or in their case... Soft reboot. Nobody gets insane power.
@DIGI-PANDA I kind of wish they did go with the other aspects, but it also makes sense. Since old beelstar will always have to be kept in mind when making 7 cost options
It is a shame that they hard rebooted the musketeer game play and how annoying it is that all the new effects/option cards don't play around the 7 cost gimmick. But I can honestly see why. The old sec rare Beelstarmon is just that toxic of a card. You either make the new musketeer support essentially Garurumon X and draw/trash so often that you can hard play your best card, Beelstar sec. Or just make a new but familiar enough game play. Even if you allow the old option cards to work/make the new option cards 7 play cost it might spiral to just draw/trash and spam Beelstar sec.
I kinda get why they redid the whole archetype, hoping to prevent the archetype from becoming a “option good stuff soup” deck. I feel like like this is a cool rogue deck that’ll sneak tops. It’s got the same problem as machinedramon where it has the answer to everything…. If you draw it 😂
The reboot of the Muskets is VERY strange. They vould've easily made them say "7 cost Option" instead of requiring Three Musketeer Options only, but I get their (potential) concern. You wouldn't want stuff like Heaven's Judgement splashed in something so generic.
i personally hope they don't hit decks that peopel have been spending a good chunk of money on. But who am i kidding, this is bandai. Restrict so you have to play diaboromon and omnimon. No more Angar, nume, and instead return to overwhelming Red Hybrid and Demon Lords, yaaay
I will never let Bandai go on what they did to Saviorhuckmon. The restriction for this card wasn't about an unbalanced effect, it was purely "this card has been in the meta longer than intended." RUDE
@@DIGI-PANDA yeah. And players always seem to make it about, “there’s no way around it” instead of learning how to beat it, and focusing on the strategy. The more competitive I get, the more I realize beating decks is just as much about learning other decks as well as your own. Some decks you can’t give memory too, other decks you can’t give them time to set up, other decks you hold your dedigivolve effs cuz you know they’re packing a lot of ace cards - like there is just so much that goes into winning beyond, I play good card equals I win. I played Apocalymon at 4 and went 5-2-1. So clearly it’s about pilot and not the card or else I would have won. I didn’t. Opponents knowing how to play against my deck is what gave them the win. So, like I don’t know. Yeah cards are in the meta too long, but the deck lists aren’t the same, and if any card deserved a restrict it was apocaly because it’s eff could only be stopped if you killed it, and that interaction with your deck was stupid - that said, AP Mach abused trash like that with Milith/growl deck and no one whined haha. So, always arguments for ban/restrict. I just hate it when the argument is “I lost to it too fast and I didn’t know how to beat it so I want you to restrict it so that my deck has an easier go of it”

I can say this was more or less a soft reboot for 3 musk. As they wanted the deck to be more then just beelstar and options.

Competitive? Not really sure.
Fun? Most likely.
This is the deck I’m most interested in.
I can't wrap my head around why they woudn't have Three Musketeers in text. Why change the archetype up completely...
You would be surprised it is actually a meta deck
It's actually a rather solid control deck, having multiple ways to get rid of your opponent's board while beating you down at the same time
