I've said this a couple other places so apologies to those who may have seen it before. I play Sims (4) and they've recently moved over to using Overwolf/Curse Forge to start offering mods after 20 years of them being a separate thing. The first thing I noticed was how messy it was and how full of trash it was. It was like going through the junk folder of amateur modders with no clue how to present their product. The modders I recognize and have used for YEARS had to be searched for by some variation of their name (not a single one I've located is able to secure their actual handle we all recognize) OR submit to scrolling through trash from unknown modders who can't even be bothered to put up a profile pic but think the more they spam their creations in the gallery the more downloads they'll get. After day 2 of trying to navigate it, I resigned myself to continuing to do it as I've always done it with no support. I'll play them til the wheels fall off I guess. NOT looking forward to Overwolf being the ones to manage in game mods availability. Not at all. edit: And I wanna know who 'us' is....you got a mouse in your pocket?

Wild Card doesn't make any sense, they are making a UE5 version of Ark1 supposedly free, they are releasing a UE5 Ark1 called Ascended which you need to pay for and the DLC on top of it. How any of this make sense? Those are not good news, those are just confusion at its finest, like wtf are they doing
If you care about the dev team, stop haggling the price, sometimes they really would give more free as they have, but they cant feed their dev team or staff on happiness and joy, it cost money, and after covid it costs even more to keep people, the cost of living has skyrocketed for the past 3 years and continue to go up. Let me compare them to rockstar, red dead 2, you get little to no communication about whats even going on, they drip feed their updates, enabled a battle pass that they themselves cant even keep up with so they dropped it, you still to this day have to grind and in the end new people can just buy their way to where you are, filled with game breaking bugs and glitches, pvp is a joke, only for 5 years later they decided to stop supporting the game. With this team they are communicating, they are trying to make the game better than what it was but it isnt cheap, its more expensive than it was before. Think of the logic with bills, if the bills stay the same why does it feel like we still pay more and more? Because we are getting paid less but expected of more, I'm looking at arks track record though not perfect they actually love their game and you can see it in every detail in every map, they love their mod developers as opposed to fighting them, they have even hired some such as the guy who made the Titan Map. Give them a chance. and go look at conans track record, they are struggling too, and now they have an expensive battle pass and the game aged pretty roughly. Ark is one of the best in its class, The devs have my best wishes and support, lets support our devs, especially the few good ones who are willing to fight their own investors to not charge money for tek and other things.
Unfortunately this has nothing to do with the devs at Wildcard. They very much wanted ARK: SA to be a free release. It's Snail Games, the publisher, that is bullying them into making it a money grab. Snail has already been caught red handed with real-world trading for dinos on Official, a bunch of scummy and shady practices, and a looong history of abandoning their Early Access games as soon as they rake in some quick money.
They could give us ASA trailers to give ppl a justification for the price(all dlc´s included for 50), the new dlc map for 20 and sell ark2 seperatly, for 50-70, way less ppl would complain(if any, except a few "asa was promised to be free ppl") and wildcard would most likely earn the same, option to import savefiles would be nice on top. it´s a communication issue, probably bc of their publisher Edit: btw they earned 15m with Ark last year, wildcard isn´t poor, there is no reason to be concerned about devs money at all, syntac explained it well
My biggest issue is the DLC being packaged separately, as if Im a brand new customer, purchasing brand new content. There should be a way to show your CD keys and get a discount. The whole thing is a bait n switch, corporate scum deal. Throwing in Ark 2, to encourage a repurchase, yet they refuse to show anything they've done.
Many people are speculating that Snail Games the publisher of Ark are making Survival Ascended a paid version instead of the promised "Free Upgrade" Because they've been having a tough year and their shares have been dropping. Unfortunate to see such a game with so much potential in UE5 to be hidden behind a pay wall. I get that they need the money for Ark 2 and the other franchises but its unfair that they promised it to be free
Ooofff, this is going to be crazy, I also saw Rassclark's last video of Monarky season 3 that you won't a part of the Monarky series anymore, I guess you are going to be busy for sometime and I understand ASG, one other thing, this whole new version of Ark is indeed going to be better then the Ark we all know like you and some other Ark RUclipsrs have already said, but it's still saying just incase that someone didn't understand what the person was trying to say. I dont really mind a nodest fee for the upgraded ark, what i mind is them pushing the price way out there to justify giving me Ark 2, when i am almost certain that Ark 2 is not a game i wish to play!

Thank you ASG. Again a great vid. It was a breath of fresh air after all the negative backlash to the news we got. I Like most of it, we are, hopefully, getting a new and better game experience with UE5, a new DLC map with new dinos as well. Cross play across the board, console gets mods and more. What i dont like to much is having to buy the old DLC maps, and definitely not having to buy them in to different packs again. There is so much that could be said but in the end, Over all its good, with some not so good in there.
No the worst news isn't the delay of Ark 2 until the end of 2024. The worst news is that PC and XBox get Ark 2 for $10. Because I Guarantee that when Ark 2 finally drops for PS5 it will be $69.99.

Not been able to transfer the dinos bred for Years is throw the players time in the trash... For me, ark ends with the official severs shutdown...
