These swans are beautiful, in their natural habitat. Looks like they are all numbered and under observation for longevity, survival rates, etc. Not sure if feeding them is a part of the program, cause the birds need to survive without human intervention and to thrive.
Thank you for caring about the swans. Those Trumpeter Swans had been extinct in Ontario Canada over 200 years ago due to over-hunting by human. Thanks to the hard work of Ontario Trumpeter Swan Restoration Program since 1980s, the Trumpeter Swans were re-introduced and reproduced. Now their population had grown to approximately 2,500 to 3,000 in Ontario. Those swans are numbered by the program, and the licensed volunteers from the program can feed the swans legally.
