Cal here! Yeah, I almost certainly could have just... cast P Grasp again targeting Mike. There were a few of us there talking about my options and by hour nine of a con day we were all pretty tired. Mistakes happen. Magic is hard. :D
yeah the BFreeze against him was also a weird tactical decision given the labMan on board; but I guess at the end of the day you've the right to feel tired :) and playing a turbo deck agaisnt a turn 2 god pharao's statue must not have helped.
@@jinshootingstar It was close but no cigar. The next turn would have most likely been Citanul Flute for Filigree Sages, cast them, make infinite mana, then draw whole deck with a Ballista kill.
When arcum got statue I was thinking about what new artifacts would of been great to add to him and getting a portal to phyrexia here at this moment would of been crazy kills 6 creatures including 3 commanders and the lab man this also would of set Sean back alot as he skipped a land drop hoping to make mana off his commander and monkey. It would also let you reanimate a artifact crature every turn for more set up
Still should have grabbed myr turbine then god Pharos, would have given him two more tutors for null rod and portal to phyrexia or static orb for a full lock
Tymna + Malcolm is super underrated. Sure you could play Thrasios or Kraum instead of Malcolm, but having ramp and Draw in the commandzone is just awesome!
These are unique partner pairings ( and rog/si) i don't know what everyone is complaining about. At least it isn't tnt, dawnwaker, or blue farm. Not a thrassios or kraum to be seen.
The Arcum plan was to slow the game down, get Orrery out, use Flute to grab Filigree Sages, make infinite mana, draw the whole deck, and win off most likely Ballista. Zeb was the Flute for Sages away.
A small misplay by Arcum player. Could have fetched flute with first trigger, get a 0 drop, and sac that for Statue after the untap. So statue plus value engine at the same time! But lovely to see Arcum in action!
Arcum simply can't keep up with current meta, deckbuilding requires jumping through too many hoops which makes overall card quality pretty bad. Also incredibly vulnurable to all the common stax pieces, and cant function well without the commander. I imagine its a fun deck in high power though
They've started a high power commander series where there probably won't be any partners. In cEDH it's hard to justify not running partners tho. The competitive aspect means you run the best of the best
I have a huge problem with this Arcum Build. the first search should have been for 'myr turbine' followed immediately by the god pharoahs statue. he spent two turns not doing anyhing because his deck didnt have the most powerful card Arcum can run. if it was stranded in his hand then grab 'nuisance engine' or one of may artifact token creators. sloppy play
I don't know why you'd cast C-rift in your main phase knowing your opponents probably have a full grip of counterspells at the ready including the clearly visible counter spell on Mike's board. That was just kingmaking any one of your opponents there.
I literally watched this video for one reason and thats malcolm and tana and the glare ruined the entire view of that deck .... when y'all set these videos up you have to figure out a way to get everything in the video without that glare .... like why upload it when it looks like that? ...

Yes, I was wondering why you just didn't get Mike's Thoracle and just win - but long games can do that to people.

Bit late but couldn't you of also cyc rifted the lab man?
I call this episode time travel, a lab man win and a arcum daggson, wow
Arcum Dagsson in the year 2023 of our lord?
Arcum Dang Son
better than 75% of the commanders for sure
That Arcum deck was classy
Classy post-PO ban: Annoying but can't close games kek
@@jinshootingstar It was close but no cigar. The next turn would have most likely been Citanul Flute for Filigree Sages, cast them, make infinite mana, then draw whole deck with a Ballista kill.
What’s up with that mainphase arcum sac for the flute? What was the plan, and why not wait?

homie played to not lose when he should have been... playing to win hehe
play to not lose. he had two searches with the free untap if his first search was myr turbine.
Still should have grabbed myr turbine then god Pharos, would have given him two more tutors for null rod and portal to phyrexia or static orb for a full lock

Love a good stax piece!

I will purposefully watch all the opening hands of all videos even if I don't watch the video. Never know what you've lost till it's gone. :')
Love some good old Dagsson.
it's always weird to watch these games where the players appear to reach through the webcams. excellent edditing on that
This game was I person actually! 😊
I thought I misread when i seen dagsson in the title lolol, good game though for sure
What sleeves makes Seans lands look foiled?
Hey Sean here! Those lands are foil proxies. Most of the deck is "real" just not the 3 duals and cradle.
@@Hard1sh Aw, I was hoping for some cool inovation here. Thanks for the answer.
at 7:09 malcolm create 2 treasure, but mike only control 1 pirate, the damage check for pirates only, just confused
Malcolm trigger is getting 2 treasures (one for each pirate that does damage) then Ragavan trigger is the 3rd.
Arcum Dagson :o I miss him so much.
Good. Opening hands should never leave. There's no reason to REMOVE information from the viewer.
I always root for the non partner commanders but a Arcum?? How could i not root for him
What was the game plan for the Arcum deck?
Win the game

You never want to pay the two. It's so back-breaking to have to pay the two with the statue. Slow-motion CEDH. 🤣
I don't understand Sean's turn 1. Land and Petal into Dashed Rag, swing and make a treasure, crack treasure for Elves?
Arcum Daggson? What year is this? 2015?
Yo, are you placed in the US? If so, its kinda insane cause I had a friend nicknamed zeD and he ran Arcum as well 😅
Slight editing error, Mike’s life total stayed at 32 even with getting bonked by the monkey and dinged by the God Pharaohs Statue.
Nice. That Arcum deck is so weird idk what I would playing against it lol. Most of those cards are just not normally seen. Very cool tho.
A small misplay by Arcum player. Could have fetched flute with first trigger, get a 0 drop, and sac that for Statue after the untap. So statue plus value engine at the same time! But lovely to see Arcum in action!
Rog Si :( Congrats to Mike. Zeb was very spicy.
Ahhh the old school Arcum just can't keep up with Thoracle. Good days, good old days.
love a lab man win
There’s a line where arcum could of won on turn two there if he had that manifold key
Our Playgroup actually bans infinite combos as a house rule.
More temur pirates pls❤️
Im trying to make that deck on paper
Arcum should’ve found citanul flute>god pharaohs
Arcum simply can't keep up with current meta, deckbuilding requires jumping through too many hoops which makes overall card quality pretty bad. Also incredibly vulnurable to all the common stax pieces, and cant function well without the commander. I imagine its a fun deck in high power though
Could we have a break of partner commanders?

Dude threw the game in a hissy fit. Zeb the real winner.

Let me be the first to say screw thoracle
Partner was a mistake.

man partner is so boring, i know its strong but sheesh
Drawing from an empty library is such a lame win condition. Really uncreative deck building.
cedh isn't about creativity. it's about efficiency
Yeah taking 2 hours to beat everyone to death with creatures is way more creative
