I expect this mower will last several seasons with decent care. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx1VWTrayKBdCKAjzAcZ_Eg4dhHTae3LkN also recommend Also, I ran across the problem with it not starting the 2nd time I used it. There is a safety switch which is pushed in by the chute or mulching piece being attached to the deck. I took the cover off and it wouldn't start. Put it back on, no problem. It takes only a minute with 2 easily accessible wingnuts and no tools. This mower starts up first crank each time and it is a joy to use. It also mows in reverse by putting the key to the reverse area after starting and pushing in the triangular button. It will stay in reverse mode until you turn it off. All in all, for my homeowner needs, I really like this mower-and at 70 bucks a cut here in Miami, it's already more than 1/3 paid for itself in a month.
Thanks for all your reviews! I was searching all the info. I could gather a few months ago. Actually bought the Cubby but returned it after watching more of your reviews on it. Did not see any reviews on this model but purchased it anyway from a big box store. Couldn't be happier. I mow 10 acres every week (flat and hills). So far not a hiccup! As has been stated. Purchased an hour meter from Amazon and took a couple of minutes for the install. Cut out is already there and the wires are right there also. Easy peasy! Have put about 30 hrs on her so far. Oil change was easy. A bit messy to change out the filter, but nothing that a rag underneath didn't fix. Myride is a game changer. Used to use a Kubota, and the 4WD did help on the inclines, but man did that tractor beat me up. It was Advil every time I did 3-4hrs on it. The Toro, 5hrs of mowing, and I'm beer in hand, smile on my face, and meat on the grill! If you're on the fence, you won't be disappointed! Thanks again brother for all you do for the common folk that can't get there hands on the many mowers out there!
Just wanted to say I appreciate all the videos. I’ve been researching zero turns for months and have wanted numerous different “commercial” mowers but your info has helped bring me down to earth and realize the timecutter will more than handle what I need to do. Just put a deposit down today at my local dealer.
I just bought this mower as a 2021 model. There is a pre cut opening for the hour meter. Toro also left the wiring harness there for you. An hour meter is $43.00 What they need to include is a headlight. The cub zt1 and zt2 both have them.
Nice review! I have the 50 inch version of this mower and I Love it. I have only had it for a couple of months, so I can't wait for the grass to really start growing this year. I'm glad you caught that it does have an hour meter spot (you just have to pop it in - I bought mine for around 70 bucks from the dealer that I bought the mower from.) You are definitely right about the arm rests, they are completely useless. I am glad you confirmed my feelings that this is a great mower!
I whittled it down to this and the bad boy avenger zt60. I really liked the Myride feature. In the end I settled on the badboy due to the 2800 hydros and the 7 Guage deck. It seems to be more durable for the money.
I am seriously considering buying this mower (without the my ride) as my first z turn. Although I know this is a residential mower, I think it will do just fine for a handful of larger properties I mow.. Beside the Timecutter I have to buy a trailer too so this will be a big investment gamble for my small business. Hopefully it will pay off.
I bought the 50 inch, mx5075 last month and have 5 mows in. I love it. Only issue I have had is at the 5 hr first oil change I broke the plastic stem that the oil drain hose stores on. I was very careful and gentle trying to get the stupid hose off and it just snapped. It looks in order to repair it I have to replace the whole casing because the stem is built in. I think that component could have been built better. Overall smooth ride and fast cut.
LOL. I broke mine off too!! I called the dealer and he said that he has to take pliers to them when they come in new to get them off. I will be addressing this in an upcoming video! There isn't enough oil pressure to lift the oil out of the top of the tube, so no reason to buy a whole new top cover, just plug it with a bolt to keep debris out. I appreciate the comment!
Mine is the same and I love it, first thing I did was to install the hour meter, my armrests work very well, perhaps there is something going on with yours. Great Video !!!
Excellent video. Very easily explained. Went out and bought this model because of your video. A can't miss deal. Will be ordering the hour meter from Amazon. (ps: your model is cute!) Thanks again.
I own a Toro SW4200 which is the steering wheel version. It's still Zero Turn, but people refuse to believe it till I SHOW them. This is the first zero turn I've ever owned and I wonder why I waited so long!
My back yard is covered in dandelions. Evaluation of a mower must include how well it can cut down these pesky weeds. Every mower I've ever tried fails to severe the stems on these weeds. A day after mowing most of the stems pop right back up. Can you comment on how well this mower handles this problem?
I don't think they had enough complaints for the shoot and hr meter. I did say in the video that I did hit the shoot a little hard. The hr meter though, That's going to be hard to convince someone when I sell it that it only has ??? hrs on it. A Toro factory plug and play hr meter is $70 msrp, it probably wouldn't cost them more than $10 to put on.
Great review! curious if you would recommend this for a property with about 2.5 acres of grass to mow with slight hills. I'm currently shopping for my first zero turn upgrading from a 10 year old Craftsman lawn tractor. During peak season I tend to mow about once every 5 days. do you think this machine would be a good fit? Or would it be worth it to step up to the Titan? Thanks for any advise! Enjoy watching your videos and reviews.
Jake R This mower is great for 2-4 acres! I’m not really sure if the Titan has enough upgrades for personal use and the price increase. I’m completely satisfied with this model so much that I now own this mower.
Nice review on a really nice residential mower for $3,900. And you're right, it should have an hour meter on it, my 1,700 dollar Craftsman riding mower has one. I wonder if the handles are adjustable, to bring them closer and lower to the arm rests? A no slip step would have been nice and the deck looks like it would support a OCDC chute blocker. I'd say the only thing you'd have to worry about is the what looked like small spindles. But they're cheap enough and should last 500 hours. I noticed your rear wheels slipped once on that first yard, which is one thing I don't like about my John Deere Z335E, it's to light in the rear end. My XMark Pioneer 60 inch which is now the Radius is the perfect weight, but it cost $5,000 for the base model and the top of the line light commercial is $8,400.
Isaiah40:22 the handles aren’t adjustable. The hour meter I just found out is an option lol. Why though 🤦♂️. I think the tire spun because I was a little heavy on the stick on that clip. The traction is actually really good, but is a zero turn and acts accordingly. Solid solid cut quality and the build quality is at a $4k expectation. Could be beefier. I will be trying to get this mower for myself. Absolutely love it!
@@g4outdoors well if I just had my yard to mow, I'd be all over this mower. I have a $10,000 dollar mower and I still find things I don't like about it. There is no perfect mower, just the best you can afford, lol. I hope you get your wish, just don't let your wife know you have another love in your life.
Isaiah40:22 Absolutely right about the perfect mower. I want gravely to build my frame, a vanguard efi motor, a Scag deck, Ferris suspension, Cubs adjustable handle bars, a top of the line air ride seat, and owned by Ed Wright. That’s probably my perfect mower. Lol
Nice review, great mower. Just a curiosity though, I have a Hustler and a Husqvarna and both manuals say to switch on/off PTO at 1/2 throttle to save clutch and belt...anyone else heard that?
Try the Spartan zrt out. Best ride in my opinion other then my ride. I have had my Toro now for 5 years it has the Kaw 26 and it's a 50 inch cut. Only thing I don't like is it don't throw the grass as far as it should and no hour meter. I run the high lift flat blades but it cuts smooth with nothing sticking up. Toro price is why I bought the mower and the engine. Good video
Thanks for the comment! I would really like to try a Spartan out! They look like you could just put a new seat and motor on them every ten years and last a lifetime.
The plastic covers on the deck, will not stay on. I took it back to dealer they said they are all like that. So, with that response , how do I get the covers to stay on? There is no way to screw them down and even if I did it would void my warranty. Any suggestions?
I haven’t had this problem on this mower. If it happens to mine, I’ll probably just leave them off. I’m not advising you do that, just letting you know what I’d do.
Bought my 2019 Timecutter MX5075 last year before the end of the season and love it. Kind of wish I had waited now because this version here essentially is the updated version of the 5075 and I like how they redid the myride rear shocks. My model the rear shocks are rubbing the springs against the shocks and causing the paint to wear already at 13hours... I also notice they have now made it so you can read the gas gauge while driving on this new model which is also great! The foot lift is an accessory for the 5075 but not standard. Also wish they would make a rubber shoot for the 5075. May have to see if some of the new machines upgrades will fit the older 2019 model. Overall love the 2019 model the only main draw back is with a full tank of gas you have more traction on your left wheel then your right which causes the right wheel to spin a lot especially on hills like what my farm has.
Glorious Reptiles Show The fuel window on this one isn’t transparent enough to work very well. The grass deflector is a little brittle, I will be releasing a video on the downfalls of this mower (only about 3 points lol). Still, I love the machine!
I just bought one exactly like this one two hours ago at Tractor Supply. Picking it up tomorrow and start mowing, my Club Cadette is down with bad transmission.
You can't just push in the transmission unlocking pins. It has a secondary electric break. The key must be in the run position and the stearing bars set inwards.
@@g4outdoors When the electric brake fails, it's about 114.00 for the part.ALL FUNCTIONS go thru it. electric start, fuel valve on carb, magneto gnds. If you do not keep unit clean, they will fail in a little over a year.I have nine years working for toro/exmark.
This mower is what I am looking for for my lower yard stays wet even in the georgia heat cause there is under ground water springs and it boggs my husqvarna 24v48 riding mower down if I don't stop and cut the blades off then on and it makes a mess
23:25 just ordered one and agree with point. The toro hour meter kit is $60 on amazon and the wiring harness is already there ready to plug into, it makes no sense why it wasn't already included. On top of that, the first oil change is at 5 hours which you wouldn't record properly without it. Seems like a bit of a miss on toros part especially when ALL the maintenance intervals are by hours usage
I was about to order the 50" version of this mower and return my Cub Cadet 50" that I just bought last week. But you mentioned the frame is C channel which is a deal killer for me. My Cub Cadet ZT1 has a full tube frame from front to back. I like that a lot.......
If I said the price, there would be a huge comment thread on how someone found a better deal somewhere else. And most of the time, people aren't even looking at the same exact mower. MSRP on this mower is $4,099 by the way. ///// The gas tank is 3 gallons. I will be doing a video on "how long can you mow on a tank of gas". Again this depends on what model you get. ///// No seatbelt, again, model pending. ///// I said the top speed in this video specifying the speed with the 2200 hydros. /////
Thanks for the great information. I know it will be very useful sometime down the road. Thanks for the great videos on the Toro 2020 with my ride. I am really liking mine so far. One issue I have noticed with mine is that when I go over some ruts, the mower sometimes turns off and I have to naturally disengage the mower blades and restart it. Has anyone experienced that so far? The ruts are not that deep as my lawn is in fairly decent shape. It happened twice a couple of days ago when I was cutting my grass. The battery connections are tight. Asking for anyone's opinion,do you think using the washout port to clean the mower blades and deck will prematurely deteriorate the spindles and seals with water possibly getting in them? I have the 42 in Toro 2020 with my ride suspension
I can hypothetically answer these questions. If you are getting power loss when hitting bumps, there are two things to look for. You might be too light or you might not be positioned in the seat properly allowing for the operator presence switch to think you have left the seat. This happens on all mowers if there isn’t enough weight on the seat at any given time. You should find the operator presence switch and connector to see that they are both installed properly. A loose connection could also be your problem. If neither of these are the problem, check that the wiring to your ignition (where your key goes) and check the connectors there. Hope that helps!
Once again another great review. Once this craziness has calmed down some I'm going to look at one of these and the hustler raptor limited or sd and finally move up to a zero turn. Yay!!
I advise against getting a Hustler Raptor unless you’re mowing a large suburban yard or golf course type of landscape. I have an acreage/working farm, and I have repaired that d@mn deck 10x in 2 years. I’m so sick of it, that’s why I’m looking at the Toro and other true commercial quality zero turns.
I'm looking at a new zero turn to replace my 08 42" Troybilt mustang.... Would you recommend the time cutter, ariens icon xd, or a different brand/model? Second question I'm about to get a privacy fence wouldn't the 52" be hard to get through the gate?
Andrew King this new TimeCutter is awesome man! You would have to measure your fence and the mower to figure that out bud. Let me know if there is anything else you need answered.
@@g4outdoors so Time cutter over the iconXD? What about if I added the Gravely Hd... Lol? Love your videos thanks!..... I just found the price on the 44" and if it's 5000 thays to much for what I'm doing lol so that's out if so
Andrew King Let me add one thing. As you may know, each mower mows differently in each area of the states. So,,,, lol. I know for a fact that the toro has had the best cut on my properties.
Mine is on order, so watching your video after I ordered. Had a Cub Cadet XT1 that was well reviewed everywhere, but it just was too bouncy, uncomfortable and I'm not even 30 yet. When I ordered my Toro 50" with the Kawasaki 23hp, I just added the hour meter to my order. Shame it's not a standard item at nearly $4k for a mower, but to was $65 to add. Oh well
@@richardnavratil9661 im thinking about getting this one too and it is so annoying they don’t include the hour meter. My 2009 TimeCutter SS42 didn’t include one either so I bought one and installed myself
Glad you got one, should consider giving your money to a mom and pop dealer next time instead of big box store HD. I know though there always small business dealers near everyone
Just test drove one. Really seemed like a nice mower. I have a decent sized sledding hill in my front yard. Not sure if it'll work. The salesman said he'd possibly be able to bring it over to give it a try.
Joe P Definitely test it out first. Sit down zero turns aren’t the best option for side hilling. Up and down maybe. If it sidetracks too much, I would suggest getting a tractor. The front tires on a zero turn don’t do anything to keep you straight, but the lawn tractor front tires helps out a ton. Hopefully this mower works out for you!
The Ariens was a demo as well. They came and picked it up before the season started this year. The toro has a better cut quality. I’m pretty sure that both have the same hydros, I’d have to go look that up, but so can you lol. The Gravely is beefier, but the Toro is pretty solid as well, but lighter. Head to head, it really is a tough choice between the two. That being said, I negotiated a deal and now own this Toro. That’s how much I enjoy it. There are pros and cons on both, I suppose it just came down to the MyRIDE that made my decision.
Charles Bailes The apex is a solid unit. I would give the build quality to the apex. The 60” Apex has better hydros. Comfort and cut quality goes to toro all day long though. As mentioned in the video, the Toro has a 3 year, unlimited hour warranty! If given the opportunity, I would buy this mower before giving it back to Toro. LOVE IT!!
Thanks for the cuttting demonstration. Of all the zero turn mowers that you have showed us, if I was to buy today, which mower should I purchase for 2 acres.
Quintan Brown This one. No questions asked. I’m trying to work out purchasing this mower for myself and using it on all the properties I cut. Keep in mind though, the only thing I have cut so far is what’s on video. I feel it’s a solid unit that will last a good while.
I won't have the chance to work with Ariens this year. However, I will be getting the Gravely HD. If that is equivalent to the XD, I will be able to put those head to head. I can say the cut quality is better on this time cutter than the Icon 42 and the apex 60.
Hi there, great review. Having been looking at Zero turn mowers and been considering the Ferris 400s along with now the Toro TimeCutter do you have a view on which would be better. We need to mow about 2 acres of lawn, tow a rake over the horse arena and will also want to tow a water filled roller over about 4 acres of paddocks. No big inclines - all pretty level. Of course the Ferris is more expensive and very good it seems (my brother has one) but the Toro is tempting if it's up to the job or are there other models you think we should look at for our needs? We are in the UK. Thanks a lot.
Michael S I don’t have a problem recommending the Toro at all! In your case, depending on the weight of what you will be towing, and depending on how often you will be towing, the hydro 2200’s are on the low end of motors and aren’t designed to take on extended extra loads. If you are only towing every once in a while, you should be fine, but not for towing on a daily basis. As a stand alone mower, this model is going to be hard to beat in its price range! Hope that helps!
The dealer that dropped off my mower told me to pretty much leaving it on "full throttle" whenever operating it "starting or stopping". Think it might have also mentioned this in the manual? Any thoughts on this? I noticed you starting your mower with the throttle in a slower speed and then levering it up. Probably not a big deal. Thanks again.
Derrick Niide The manual does state to turn the mower off at full throttle, doesn’t make sense to me, but I do it. It also states to turn the pto on at full throttle, this all depends on the manufacture of the clutch. When I start the mower though, I have a real hard time. There is a term called dry starts. Oil is not on the cylinder walls 100% after the motor has been off for an extended period of time. Also, I do not believe rapidly heating ANY motor up with RPM’s is a good idea either. I’d have to say do whatever the manual says though. They designed it, not me lol.
@@g4outdoors Thanks for getting back. I take it you start up the mower with the throttle lower and then after it warms up for a bit switch it to full throttle? Makes sense to me. I'll try it out and see if there's a difference. I also have been noticing that the engine likes to cut out on inclines (gas is pretty full). Then it takes a while to get it to start up again and the clutch has to be pulled out. Wondered if you experience anything like this. Manual states 15 degree hills, but I'm on something a bit more than that. Thanks again for all your help!
G4 Outdoors Outstanding review! Thank you, I am trying to decide on a zero turn to get and have been eyeing the Timecutter 54" or 60" and the Titan. I currently have an exmark Quest about 12 years old and had to replace the engine (B&S) about 5 years ago because it kept throwing pins or something like that. I have a tricky back, 65YO, and I am trying to find some comfort and that is why I keep coming back to the Myride. Have 2 to 3 acres to cut around gardens, silver maple trees with roots sticking up, and worst of all MOLES, only a couple slight small hills but maybe 15 to 20 degree slopes but I do with my exmark 48" now. The ride from my old exmark wears me out when I am done. Just want a reliable machine that will give me a great ride and a good cut. Your review seems like the timecutter might be the answer. Would a titan be any better or would you expect it to last longer? There are so many options!!!!! Storage isn't an issue, but $3700 for the 54" timecutter Myride seems like a great value when compared to a 54" Titan w/Myride model 75312 or a Timecutter HD? why is the HD up around $5400. I am getting confused and with this virus around and not getting out to try one or even sit in one it is difficult. So in a nutshell: 1) Benefit of Titan over Timecutter, 2) Buy from Toro online with their white glove service or Home Depot with theirs and getting an extended no hassle warranty thru them, 3)Is there any other machine I should be looking at for comfort to compare? Thank you for your help.
I had my time cut about four the only problem I had out of my lawnmower was the desk keep come off the hangers under the sit and now my transmission on the right side mess up it will cut till it get hot and then it start act like it don't want to pull on the right side and the other thing I don't like about this mower is it don't have a time meter on it and it don't have any way to change the transmission fluid if it had both of them. things the mower would last longer I love the cut and love the mower if I had to grade it I would give it a ( B+) now if they would put them two things on there I would give get a grade of ( A++)
Wow don’t know how I missed out on this Toro...never even had it on my radar when researching residential mower 🤦♂️...I ended up getting a Gravely ZXT 42 and it has preformed well but it’s only been a month. Thx for the review but you should it made it a month ago lol 😂👍🏼
I was almost convinced to get a gravely but was let down by the cut quality. The gravely is definitely built well and should last a long time but it just can’t stripe. As far as I can tell the timecutter is pretty close to an exmark in cut quality.
I would like a smoother ride. I also like the pulley covers. I'm not sure price point but I have been happy with my Gravely ZTHD 60. I just wish it was a little smoother on my 5 acres. But it cuts and disperses great.
@@amycompton4303 I have country field of about 4 acres. Some areas are a little rough. At full speed it will jar your back. So I go slower. But I heard Gravely has a upgrade seat conversion. I'm going to check on it. I really like my Gravely ZTHD 60.
Hi G4 Was wondering if the extra 1,000.00 for the my ride model is worth it over the standard Timecutter, both are 50 Inch cuts..Model 75755 vs Model 75750..Appreciate your opinion..Thks
Chris Dowling To an extent. They do not have a drain plug, just a filler plug. If you could suck the fluid out, you could service them, but in general, the 2200’s are non serviceable hydros. Same hydros all manufactures use on lower end units.
@@g4outdoors thanks for taking the time to respond. Have a great day. I was thinking you were cutting everything at 2inches. Most my customers want there lawn cut that short.
I just stumbled across your channel this morning, after searching for zero-turn mowers. I've been working on my father-in-law's Cub Cadet LT1045 for him, doing regular maintenance, and he swears by the brand. After seeing your review of your Cub Cadet Ultima ZT1, I'm steering clear, so thanks for that. This leads me to my question, since you like the Toro MyRide system and have done reviews in the past, why did you decide to buy the Cub Cadet instead? Your review of the Toro definitely has me taking a hard look at them, when the time comes for me to set fire to my Poulan PP24VA54. I'd really love to see a head-to-head review of the Toro 48" Titan MyRide Zero Turn Mower vs the Gravely 48" XT HD. Absolutely "Liked" and "Subscribed"!
Frederic Lynes Lanier Lawncare did a head to head on the titan vs the TimeCutter. Check his channel out for that. My RUclips partner reviewed the Cub and they gave him the mower, so I bought it at a price I couldn’t pass up. I sold it pretty quickly though. I am supposed to be getting a 54” gravely HD in any time for review. There isn’t anything wrong with the build quality on the TimeCutter, but if you’re looking at those two, the toro TimeCutter MyRIDE has the cut quality and comfort, and the gravely has build quality. I do agree looking for a new mower can be a headache lol. My last cub tractor lasted me 12 years and I still sold it in working order. They all have their hits and misses.
@@g4outdoors They really do have hits and misses. My three biggest things are cut quality, reliability and comfort. My back is completely shot from the military, so I want something that doesn't beat the hell out of it or my kidneys, like my Poulan does. I think I'm going to take a trip down to the Toro dealer today. Thanks again, great channel, from what I've seen so far.
Just bought one after watching your review!!! Wanted a mulch kit, but the dealer said it slows the pace down mowing. Got a lot of leaves in the fall, do you find it slow down the mowing pace?
You don't really need a mulch kit for leaves, so I think the dealer was probably talking about grass, where he would be correct. For mulching leaves, you don't need special blades, just a baffle to keep the leaves from discharging. You can easily make one that replaces the plastic chute, but will have to override the safety switch.
I own a Titan with a Kohler engine for the cabin and thinking about getting one for home. TITAN is more expensive but has bigger tires, bigger fuel tank, rubber deflector, hr meter, and separate parking brake. TIMECUTTER is a better price but your sacrificing those items. My issue is the engine. The TIMECUTTER you have multiple engine options. TITAN has the Toro engine now. Heard the Camshaft sprocket is composite? What's your thoughts on the Motor???
The question is probably valid, but I'm far from the person that should be answering that, lol. Put this into perspective though, 3 year UNLIMITED hour warranty? You tell me how confident they are with a composite sprocket (hearsay of course). They are putting the 24.5 motor on just about every mower in their lineup. /////// 3 gallons is plenty for personal property, THIS mower has awesome tires, the hour meter is an option on THIS model so you can still get one, the parking brake is still the same parking brake, just in a different location. You can't go wrong with THIS Timecutter!
ya, there is something i would like to know,,,,,,,, have you or would you do a "complete" review of the toro time cutter 32" zturn. ?? thinking bout getting one, i have a medium size lot with small gates, although, i currently use my 40" murray lawn tractor (think it's a late 80's-90 model) to get through 2 of them (barely in slow mo). i never used a zturn, i hear horror stories about scalping, ruts, slipping and sliding, no hill taking, small wheel using, bad cutting, etc.. what has intrigued me about the 32 is the 18,959 blade tip speed (comparable to their top of the line commercial unit) @7mph, which leads me to think the mower would not out run the cut of the blade and would give a quality cut plus the fact it is more compact for small gates and small to medium size yards along with only 2 pulleys to work with (less deflection) as opposed to 4 with longer belts, which in time, would cost you more in maintenance repairs, trust me, i know this with my 4 pulley tractor. maybe you have done one, i just need to search more. thanks, j.
If you have any hills, like in the gated yards in this video, I would not suggest a zero turn at all in a 32". The tires will be very small, causing you to slip around a LOT. On a zero turn, the front tires are only there to support the weight of the front of the mower. They don't provide any traction to hold a hill whatsoever. That includes going up and down a hill, and side to side on a hill. So essentially, you only have two tires for traction. You are totally correct about the blade speeds and mower speeds though! As far as scalping goes, that just takes common sense to keep from mowing over mounds and uneven terrain in the wrong way. If you are hopping off a a Murry Tractor into a Toro zero turn, you will be blown away at how much faster you are able to get the work done. No more 3 to 8 point turns LOL. Just back and forth, back and forth, or circles if that's your style. Hope that helps!
@@g4outdoors thanks for the reply, sorry to be a lil long winded. i have no hills, the only slope i have is in the front yard toward the sidewalk, a regular city residential lot of .3 acre, fairly good medium size. the slope is prolly round 15 degrees (guessing), the rest is flat. i also see a problem with mowing the curb edge to the street, i can't envision how that would work with caster wheels on top of a 6-8 inch curb. my lawn tractor takes the slope and curb with ease but the 3 point turns are time consuming even though i mostly do figure 8 and circular patterns, however, i'm pretty fast with the shifting and turning.
Awesome review! I've been watching all your videos because im in the market for a zero turn. I have about 2 acres few obstacles and pretty flat. I Was curious on ur opinion about bad boy mowers. We have quite a few dealers here in south Jersey. Thanks for the great videos keep up the AWSOME work.
I haven’t ran a bad boy yet. They look like really solid units. If I was in the market, I would be tempted to buy one for the price. I would be highly interested in the Spartan mowers as well. A ton of bang for your buck! The Toro TimeCutter is a great unit in itself too though. It’s a pretty tight market and there plenty of pros and cons to each. It’s hard to beat the MyRIDE system for comfort.
Jay Do it, and never look back! I have videos on the Cub ZT1, horrible mower (in my experience). I sold it within a couple of months of owning it. This mower is a fantastic machine. It’s comfortable and the cut is amazing! I have a cut quality video on this Toro too.
My father has a toro and he loves it. The only thing that frustrates him is how fast the blades get tore up. He says he replaces the blades 3 times a year. And that you cannot sharpen them because they are not just dull but bent up. Perhaps the tip speed is too fast? I am not in the market for the myride but the one without it. The one thing I do not like with or without the myride is that you cannot remove the floor panel to inspect the deck, belt, and spindles. I like the toro engine because it seems great but it is made in China. The engine is made by Loncin or something like that. Not sure if I want my money to go that direction at this time. I am between ariens, toro and cub cadet. I like ariens xd52 but they seem unavailable right now. The engine compartment seems a little tight and I hear it leaves stragglers if you put a mulching kit on. I live a 1/2 a mile from a cub cadet dealer that is closed down right now because of COVID. I am not sure if living so close to a dealer is an advantage that it should push me to buy there. At Home Depot the cub cadet with kiawasaki 50 inch just dropped from 3200 to 2900. I like that the floor opens up to the deck but I do not like that it has Inadequate storage compartments for a phone or yard trash. I also cannot find information if Cub cadet has fixed the deck vibration problem for the 2020 models compared to the 2019 model. The toro without the myride has great storage for a phone or yard trash. It just goes through blades like crazy and you cannot open the foot panel to the deck. I like that the toro without myride as an additional storage compartment under the seat. I think I will buy a toro but not sure. What do you like best out of those three? Do you think the toro engine is better than a kiawasaki engine? Right now Home Depot is selling last years model toro that has the toro 24.5 engine discounted for 2900.
Stephen Binder That’s a write up there! Lol. Let’s talk about the blades. There are plenty of aftermarket blades that might hold up better than the factory ones. Blades are designed to bend and flex so they don’t break. Not sure where the problem is coming from, just a tid bit of info for ya. ////// After my last years Cub Ultima, I cant say stay away from it strong enough. I wouldn’t buy it unless they let you fire it up. Once it’s bought, your stuck. ////// As far as lifting the deck lid, if we’re being honest, how often do you really need in there? On the Ariens, it is nice to lift the lid to blow off the deck, but on the Toro, you can EASILY take the belt covers off and blow the deck off with ease. ////// Pick your poison on the engines. The Toro is the only one in this class of mowers that is a commercial grade engine! Chinese or not, 3 year unlimited hr warranty!? I do like to keep a pair of gloves and a small pair of pruners on the mower, but to not have a cubbyhole for them is far from a deal breaker lol. Pound for pound in your options given, a TimeCutter without the MyRIDE or the Ariens?, I could debate them all day. With the MyRIDE?, Toro all the way. Best of luck to ya either way you go. They are both great mowers.
G4 Outdoors thanks. I think you have confirmed that I should go toro. I do think you changed my decision but just made me feel better about my decision.
I have now used my new Toro 5075T for 4 weeks and like to add my comments, experience so far. I really love everything when it comes to cutting quality, comfort and cutting speed. A really big issue is the driving belt. I had to change the belt after 10,5 hours. Changed the very expensive belt and have now used it for approx 5 hours and it seems that this second belt will not work for more than roughly 10-11 hours either. I really don’t understand why they put 1/2 inch, very long belt on this machine. When I cut little higher and thicker grass I can hear that the belt is “sliding”. Engine is strong and keeps the rpm up but belt can’t transfer the force. I will try for a couple of hours more and if belt wear out again the machine will go back to the shop. I will add a new comment when I get the final result....just want to give you all a warning if you are considering 5075T from 2020!
This is considered a residential mower. ,,,,,,,, Although,,,,,, there isn’t much difference between this and the Titan. I wouldn’t be afraid to use this mower for commercial work. The hydros are on the lower end of hydros, so I would expect those to go out first, but the rest can handle it.
@@guns-usa8564 Hydrogear wheel motors. Let’s talk in truck lingo real quick. There are 3 sizes of trucks for common users. An f150, 250, and a 350. The f150 is for daily light use, the 250 is for farmers that need a daily and a little work, the the f350’s for OTR drivers that haul. This mower is an f250 with an f150 driveline. I’m a Chevy guy! Why did I just compare this to Fords?🤣 anyway, hope that helps.
@@g4outdoors That’s a great explanation👍 I had a Ford then I bought a Dodge now I drive a Toyota Tundra. 😂🤣 let’s be friends lol but on a serious note. thanks for the explanation i’m wanting to start a small residential lawn care business From scratch. I’m already assuming I’ll spend about $5000 I already have a truck and a trailer. I didn’t want no debt on the company so I wanted to pay cash for it. What do you think about using that as far as a starter mower for residential use? Do you still think that might not be in a good option? PS. if you want something twice as funny. I build cars for a Japanese company and it’s not Toyota! 🤣😂
@@guns-usa8564 My exact mower (model 75754) has a 3 year unlimited hour residential warranty and a 3 year 300 hr commercial warranty. You can play that however you like 🤔. I think it would be a good entry mower for MSRP of $4,099 with plans on upgrading per your business needs. Run’er into the ground because resale on residential zero turns used for commercial use, you’re not going to get much money out of it. You’ll make a ton cutting though!
Thank You for the review! I’m just about to buy a machine like this or similar. For the moment it stands between this machine or Husqvarna z448. What do you think about overall quality of the machine? I saw another review about the timecutter and that guy maked me hesitate a little. According to him quality is far away from the bigger machines and he claimed that the machine could be used like once a week, not more!? I think it looks fantastic though :). I would appreciate you opinion. Best Regards Jonas Wahlert Sweden
There is nothing wrong with the build quality on THIS MODEL. The Timecutters in the lower price range are built to be sold in bulk and with any brand, pretty much throw away mowers. This mower comes with a 3 year UNLIMITED hour warranty! How can a company stand behind that if its only made to cut once a week? Look at the specs on it. It is designed to cut up to 4 acres of personal property. Any of the others in this price range is closer to,,,,,,,,,, 1 acre. There is too many flaws in your statement / hearsay, I don't think you are comparing the right mowers. The "Toro TimeCutter 54" MyRIDE Zero Turn Mower (75754)" is the mower that you need to be comparing others with. ////// As far as the Huskies go, I can't say either way, I've never even sat on one. What I WOULD put this mower head to head with is the Ariens apex 60" or the Gravely HD 54". Toro will still have a better cut quality, but the other two has better hydros and a beefier frame. I do have a review on the Cub Ultima, STAY AWAY!! lol. For $4k, the market is pretty comparable, but Toro is on top for cut quality. That is about as much as time as I feel typing when I first wake up. let me know if there is anything else I can clarify later on, lol.
@@g4outdoors Hi , Thanks for your answer. I think you are right that I’m comparing with wrong machine. Name of the one that I’m interested in is named Toro Timecutter MX5075T My ride 50” from 2020.
@@wahlertstallentreprenad2541 The only thing I see different in this model and mine is the rear tires and it has the old coil over spring MyRIDE system. Still every bit as good as a suspension system as the new. Same mower! I wouldn't hesitate to say "buy it!" It's a closeout model, so you should be able to get a pretty good deal on it.
@@g4outdoors Thanks, as far as I can understand it’s a brand new model. At least in Sweden. Springs on the back of the seat is gone and replaced with a new solution. www.gardsman.se/tradgard/akgrasklippare/spakstyrda-zero-turn-grasklippare/toro-timecutter-mx5075t-myrider-zero-turn-klippare-inkl-127-cm-k.html
Did this one come with a striping kit? If not, it looks like it does a decent job at laying the grass with just the deck alone, but man... I love some real vibrant stripes!
Kris Mazurowski I was compensated to give my opinion of this mower, to give specs, and to demonstrate the operation of this mower. Never will this channel be paid to give a dishonest opinion on any product though. The thoughts and opinions in this video are solely mine. I think that covers your question? Lol.
Thanks! I can appreciate that answer. I don't own a cub zt1 or 2 but I was in the market and have watched your vids. I personally didn't like the look of the zt1 myself but if we're being honest did get a little annoyed with this review. Seems to me you love this mower, ....just like you did the cub for the first couple videos. Are you maybe jumping the gun a little on this toro love affair? I mean, you put out 9 cub videos.
Kris Mazurowski I can’t argue that point at all. I was pretty stoked when I got the Cub. Then after that new wore off, I started to notice how bad the cut was and the horrible vibrations. Although I have only mowed one day with the Toro, I for a fact know that the cut quality is fricken amazing! The deck is solid as a rock while running. There will surely be something in the future that will bother me. If I have this mower long enough, I’ll say exactly what those dislikes are. No fear of burning bridges here. These companies that we do reviews for know that they are gambling on us liking what they send us. Toro is a great company, and I’ve had a toro snowblower in the garage for about 5 years now. Long story short, I learned my lesson from jumping the gun with the cub. My INITIAL thoughts and opinions still stands with the Toro. I appreciate the conversation!
I have the Toro Z master with the Toro brand Chinese made loncin engine , Just like the one on your mower, Toro does not make a engine. and it's a back firing piece of junk. From the day I bought it has back fired. I took it back for warranty and they didn't do any thing to it the first time , I raised a little hell called a Toro rep and he said it's the fuel shut off valve, 15 min after I hung up from the Toro rep The dealer I bought it from called me. And he said it's the fuel pump .I said are you sure it's not the fuel shut off valve and the dealer told me my mower doesn't have one , but the Toro Rep told me it was most likely the fuel shut off valve. Toro dealer has lied to me a half dozen times, just wanting the 3 year warranty to run out. But I wish I had went back with a Gravely mower, When I walk in Gravely they are honest and treat me like I'm their only customer. If you want a headache go buy a Toro with a Chinese engine on it. If the engine says Toro on it , Then It's made in China and don't buy it.
The arm rests on any of these zero turns is useless. You can't run levers with your arm sitting on an arm rest. Impossible, it doesn't matter where they put them.
I agree with you 90%. There are a couple that actually have useable ergonomic armrests. Toro definitely isn’t one of those though lol. The y are even too low to take a break and talk on the phone for a bit.
I hope you’re not trolling, because I’m going to put effort into this comment. After this review, I would be willing to bet the new mowers rolling off the line will have an hour meter. Toro is a great company and actually watches these videos and reads the comments! As far as the deck not being accessible, the pully covers are a breeze to take off for blowing the deck off. The deck is literally held on by 3 lynch pins! The easiest deck to remove. To put it into perspective, I’ve had the cub Ultima, sold it. The ariens ikon, sent it back. The ariens apex, passed the opportunity to buy it at a stupid low price. The Scag patriot, passed on it. BUT, it’s the Toro TimeCutter that I bought. They all have pitfalls. Which ones are you willing to overlook though. Cut quality is the #1 objective of a mower and toro has the best of all of the above mowers. If your looking for anything beyond cut quality, you will find flaws in every one you look at. If you’re looking to buy in this price range, keep your expectations at that price range. I hope this perspective helps.
Great review. Toro needs to stop pushing their "Toro" engine because its driving customers away. The only way you can get a Kawasaki in one of these is if you special order it. Same with the Titan and Zmaster 2000. If it doesnt have a Kawasaki I wont buy it.
I had a 2015 Toro 50 in cut Time Saver....Used till Sept 2018 with "0" problems, had a "Weak mind-Lapse", and SOLD it!. Bought a 2018 with Toro engine..... from Day one..... Difficult to Start, even with Choke out, and would "back-fire" every other time I Cranked! I ..Regret selling my Old Toro with Kawaski.....sooo This week > I sold it..... Yea..Good Riddance! This week-end I am torn between... another Toro, with that same ??? ENGINE...or Buying a Husqvarna 54 in for same price! Decisions....Decisions! Kawaski was a BETTER Engine! JMO
For 70 bucks sounds pretty good actually but, what size lot 1\4 1\2 a full acre where the cutting area on the lot is really the question?
Derrick Niide That is great to hear! I really appreciate the comment too!
Love my 50 inch timecutter! 10 hours of bliss so far!
Just wanted to say I appreciate all the videos. I’ve been researching zero turns for months and have wanted numerous different “commercial” mowers but your info has helped bring me down to earth and realize the timecutter will more than handle what I need to do. Just put a deposit down today at my local dealer.
That’s awesome! I enjoy commercial lawn equipment myself! Lol. If they weren’t so much more expensive, I’d have one.
I just bought this mower as a 2021 model. There is a pre cut opening for the hour meter. Toro also left the wiring harness there for you. An hour meter is $43.00
What they need to include is a headlight. The cub zt1 and zt2 both have them.
bought 2 of these and LOVE them...bulletproof mowers
If I didn’t make mowing my full time job, this would be one of my top residential mowers!
Had a Timecutter that left a beautiful strip. My new Titan my ride does not leave a strip.
Sean Cotton After a little research, the hr meter is optional 🤦♂️. Why though? I wound up purchasing this mower. Love it!
I whittled it down to this and the bad boy avenger zt60. I really liked the Myride feature. In the end I settled on the badboy due to the 2800 hydros and the 7 Guage deck. It seems to be more durable for the money.
I think you made a good purchase Chris!
Not on the Kkawasaki!😂
The intro alone made me subscribe 😂
Me too!!
Mine is the same and I love it, first thing I did was to install the hour meter, my armrests work very well, perhaps there is something going on with yours. Great Video !!!
The grey platform where your feet go, is that made of plastic or aluminum?
Aluminum
Any big difference between the Toro and Kawasaki engines? (i.e. maintenance)
None at all.
I had a zero turn tractor made by Cub. Loved that machine!! But no comparison to an actual zero turn. This Toro is a fantastic machine!
🇦🇺 thanks mate for your thorough and honest overview. My decisions firming up. Stay well in the 🇺🇸
Glad to help Nick! I'm still super happy with mine!
I’ve just finished my 5 acres, I’m one Aussie. Thanks.
My back yard is covered in dandelions. Evaluation of a mower must include how well it can cut down these pesky weeds. Every mower I've ever tried fails to severe the stems on these weeds. A day after mowing most of the stems pop right back up. Can you comment on how well this mower handles this problem?
Please check out the next video of mine on the cut quality! You won’t be disappointed!
For residential mowing would you buy it yourself?
Did they listen to you on 2021 a rubber shut too hour meter a must have I think it’s wired for it
I don't think they had enough complaints for the shoot and hr meter.
@@g4outdoors thanks!
Spartans look amazing for the 15 people that have a dealer nearby. If there was one within an hour of me I’d get one.
I have a video on just that!
What is the difference
Do you prefer this over the Ariens ikons?
tim jones The Ikon? No comparison! Toro all day no questions asked.
What's the cost? Gas tank size good on gas? Seat belt? Top speeds?
If I said the price, there would be a huge comment thread on how someone found a better deal somewhere else. And most of the time, people aren't even looking at the same exact mower. MSRP on this mower is $4,099 by the way. ///// The gas tank is 3 gallons. I will be doing a video on "how long can you mow on a tank of gas". Again this depends on what model you get. ///// No seatbelt, again, model pending. ///// I said the top speed in this video specifying the speed with the 2200 hydros. /////
I bought the hour meter as a $65 accessory. You NEED an hour meter. I also bought the expensive mulch kit and it cuts like a dream.
I will be getting the mulch kit here soon.
@@billmahan6373 I never did have the mulch kit.
I’m definitely buying this mower
I’m still super happy with mine!
I looked at a zero turn Country Clipper mower recently, I was impressed. Any info on these mowers from anyone ?
Yay!!
Travis F78 You won’t be disappointed! Zero turns saves you so much time. I really like the flip up decks on the hustlers.
Thanks, went and bought a 50 inch from HD
Glad I could help
@@tusharin1984 I agree but they gave me zero interest for two years. And zero down. It helps me a bit
Will this replace your ariens? Would love to see a comparison on cut quality and hydraulics
Thank you sir. My reference to the hydraulics referred to how smooth they drive and operate. Not many reviews talk about this.
how would you compare it to your Apex?
Between this toro and the new Ariens icon Xd 52 .. which one is a better choice for 1 acre ?
Have you ever ran a Ferris? Is this as good as their suspension they use? Thanks
I have not had the chance to try a Ferris. They look comfy, but a little complicated.
Do you have a snow plow kit for this mower
No I do not. Sorry.
Thanks for the review, and all the great content. And the word of the day (@22:15) is "chlorophyll". :-)
Charlie Arehart I knew chloroform wasn’t right, but it was stuck in my head at the time 🤣🤣. Thanks !

I had my time cut about four the only problem I had out of my lawnmower was the desk keep come off the hangers under the sit and now my transmission on the right side mess up it will cut till it get hot and then it start act like it don't want to pull on the right side and the other thing I don't like about this mower is it don't have a time meter on it and it don't have any way to change the transmission fluid if it had both of them. things the mower would last longer I love the cut and love the mower if I had to grade it I would give it a ( B+) now if they would put them two things on there I would give get a grade of ( A++)
Good mower! I have one & it has been great!
By the way I just bought my Toro, love it, just not the covers flying off!
I get it. Bum deal. I’m loving mine!
Wow don’t know how I missed out on this Toro...never even had it on my radar when researching residential mower 🤦♂️...I ended up getting a Gravely ZXT 42 and it has preformed well but it’s only been a month. Thx for the review but you should it made it a month ago lol 😂👍🏼
julio CS I just got it lol. You will be just fine with a gravely. Solid mowers.
Gravely sucks at cutting Bahia grass
I was almost convinced to get a gravely but was let down by the cut quality. The gravely is definitely built well and should last a long time but it just can’t stripe. As far as I can tell the timecutter is pretty close to an exmark in cut quality.
I would like a smoother ride. I also like the pulley covers. I'm not sure price point but I have been happy with my Gravely ZTHD 60. I just wish it was a little smoother on my 5 acres. But it cuts and disperses great.
The gravely HD 60” is an awesome mower. I had the ariens Apex 60 last year and loved it. This Toro is a great mower too. So much so that I own it now!
Troy, care to explain why? Just curious.
Depending on the amount of time you will be on it, I’d definitely spend the money.
I have 50 inch i like it
How does it stripe without a stripping kit?
There isn’t a striping kit on this. Just four 3” anti-scalping wheels. It’s just a clean cutter Jack.
Dp asks is it ok to step on and off on the deck or should I not step on it at all🤠
Have you ever tried a scag liberty? Trying to decide between this and the Scag.
Thats not even a choice. Toro not even in the same class with a Scag Liberty.
Great review! I’m looking at this exact model or the cub cadet zt2 50. Which one do you think is heavier duty and overall a better mower?
Chris Dowling Please search my channel for Cub Cadet Ultima! Just in case you don’t, the Toro is 1000 times better than the Cub!
G4 Outdoors thank you for the quick response! Looks like I will be picking up a time cutter this week!
Chris Dowling That’s my job!
G4 Outdoors do you know if it has serviceable hydros?
Chris Dowling To an extent. They do not have a drain plug, just a filler plug. If you could suck the fluid out, you could service them, but in general, the 2200’s are non serviceable hydros. Same hydros all manufactures use on lower end units.
You never talked about how many inches you were cutting at.Were you cutting at 3inches 2inches? The higher you cut the better the easier cut
LION LEGACY 3.5 always.
@@g4outdoors thanks for taking the time to respond. Have a great day. I was thinking you were cutting everything at 2inches. Most my customers want there lawn cut that short.
Can a soil tiller be attatch to this mower?
I pull a plug aerator with it. I don’t see why not.
@@g4outdoors thanks for your opinion!!! Good review!!!👍
ya, there is something i would like to know,,,,,,,, have you or would you do a "complete" review of the toro time cutter 32" zturn. ?? thinking bout getting one, i have a medium size lot with small gates, although, i currently use my 40" murray lawn tractor (think it's a late 80's-90 model) to get through 2 of them (barely in slow mo). i never used a zturn, i hear horror stories about scalping, ruts, slipping and sliding, no hill taking, small wheel using, bad cutting, etc.. what has intrigued me about the 32 is the 18,959 blade tip speed (comparable to their top of the line commercial unit) @7mph, which leads me to think the mower would not out run the cut of the blade and would give a quality cut plus the fact it is more compact for small gates and small to medium size yards along with only 2 pulleys to work with (less deflection) as opposed to 4 with longer belts, which in time, would cost you more in maintenance repairs, trust me, i know this with my 4 pulley tractor.
maybe you have done one, i just need to search more.
Does this have the stripping kit on it? And is this a 2020 model?
Jordan Cook No it does not and yes it is. It stripes pretty darn good for not having one!
Great review. Been debating on buying one but think we are now.
It's a solid purchase!
Are the transaxles serviceable on this unit ?
Not on this model.
Buying either this or the zt1 54” cub. Been going back and forth for 400$ more I can get the toro. I think I’m going to!!
Jay Do it, and never look back! I have videos on the Cub ZT1, horrible mower (in my experience). I sold it within a couple of months of owning it. This mower is a fantastic machine. It’s comfortable and the cut is amazing! I have a cut quality video on this Toro too.
Just stumbled across this video. The green stuff from the grass is chlorophyll
I could think of at the time was chloroform lol. I knew that wasn’t right.
@@g4outdoors I guess that's one of those things that stuck in my head from school many years ago
This is a nice looking machine.
Stephen Binder COOL! I’m very fortunate to be able to demo mowers for companies. I’d hate to be stuck with an uninformed purchase that I hated.
What is the common name for your mower? Mine is the Toro TimeCutter 54” with MyRIDE. I appreciate the comment! They are listening to these comments.

Thanks so much for responding.. and fast too!😁 I'll keep tuning in. Take care
I hate how Toro cheaped out 3,800 and they give you a Chinese engine with their badge slapped on it. Give us a Kawasaki or Kohler
better yet,Honda engine.
They have a kawasaki option lol
The fact that it doesn't have an hour meter and that the deck isn't more accessible turns me off.
@@g4outdoorsGreat comeback however. I'm gonna stick with my 2020 bad boy maverick 60inch
Hang on to my What??
You have no clue on how the My Ride system works. Not shocks, just one in the front. You adjust to the drivers weight and roughness of ground terrain.
Yumpin Yiminy So just one shock?
I bought a 2020 time cutter 60” and I hate it. The heat from the engine burns my grass all over the yard. Don’t buy it. I’m selling mine.
Great review. Toro needs to stop pushing their "Toro" engine because its driving customers away. The only way you can get a Kawasaki in one of these is if you special order it. Same with the Titan and Zmaster 2000. If it doesnt have a Kawasaki I wont buy it.
That's too bad. Have you even ran the Toro engine?
JMO
Almost the worst review I've seen so far.
Better than being the Worst I guess...
