thank you! The one I'm playin is a Jaquet, french. The one on the piano is a new Simone Diana, Italian. Visit my JBA if you have a minute. Thanks jazzbassacademy.com
Much respect to jazz players. Can't play fretless, lost without frets. Amazing how many don't even look at the bass or fretboard when they play. Wow! I play electric and acoustic fretted basses. Respect.
Thank you! I just a matter of studying the position shifting. Then is like having frets. Join my academy if you want to learn more about playing bass. Let's talk www.jazzbassacademy.com
this is what i want to be! im in high school and my more main instruments are jazz and orchestral bass, my hands are pretty small for jazz bass lol but i try my best and i hope to be as good as you some day :D
Thank you. I'm teaching online a lot of bassists and I have very convenient memberships and other educational tools on my Jazz Bass Academy. Go check it out. Better start early!! www.jazzbassacademy.com In particolar check the personal studio membership! Let me know...
I noticed many upright jazz players play out of tune and also make lots of rattling and unclean sounds playing pizzicatto. It seems jaco pastorius style electric bass is a superior form of jazz bass
Winning a job with a symphony doesn’t make you an expert on all music (you did not post this anonymously). Your opinions on jazz musicians are ill-informed and unwanted.
Barron! I always wondered what happened to you! We went to school together at UMKC a million years ago. I can understand your perspective on this being an orchestral player, but some of the “rattling and unclean” things that you might be hearing are actually desirable in a jazz context. The bass functions as a propulsive, almost percussive element in that music and some of that clicking helps the sound cut through and provide the music with pulse it needs. As far as the out of tune stuff…I don’t know if you’re referring to Gianluca’s performance, but he’s one of the most in tune jazz players I’ve heard and obviously has a technique firmly based in classical playing. I’m sure he’s quite adept with bow as well.
Came here for the 2 basses and lovely looking piano and stayed for the chops 😊
Gianluca, you have an incredible sound. Great!
Thanks!!!!
Beautifully played! The tone reminds me of Stanley
Smoking hot playing right there. Touch, intonation, technique, it was all there. Very well played.
Those basses are GORGEOUS!!!

You’re a joke brother. That’s just a complete oversight and almost basically a lie to make jazz players look bad. You’re hilarious
