We were nobody to all our sister country so how can you know about us if you never cared. Now we got oil Guyana is it now everyone wants a piece of the pie. No my dear Guyanese have not benefited from oil resources yet. We are always constructing . So the scenes in this video are from the proceeds of our other resources. GOLD, DIAMOND, FOREST are just some of our many resources that we have been tapping into over the decades since Independence. This is a typical middle to high income family home.

Please let the Guyana Government fix the roads in Melanie seawall area for the ppl living there as they are doing here. The ppl living there has been waiting for over 40 years for the Government to put proper roads there. They have to puddle through lots of mud to get to their homes. The children has to take off their shoes to get out when going to school, and wash their feet in the trenches, put them on before continuing on their way to school everyday. They do the same on their return home. It's a real shame to see all this progress in development being made when the infrastructure in some communities are being totally ignored. These residents work and pay their taxes too. Don't you think they deserve to at least have good roads, clean running water and electricity in their homes too? These ppl are at risk everyday of flooding from the poorly maintained sea defences, which in some areas of the East Coast is non-exsistant. I lived there before migrating to London and visits everytime I return, so I know what I am speaking about. Many of my friends died from the damp generated from the water sitting for months and not being properly drained away from the entire area. Please attend to the needs of the ppl living in those areas, so that they too can know how it feels to live healthy, safe and comfortable lives as is shown in this video. Ty.
Reel Guyana??? Coastlands?? They are in deep trouble in Guyana. The govt will welcome any kind of disaster to put fear so they can control the population meanwhile stealing tons of money. They don’t care about a few civilians whether ppp or pnc supporters. Worst most of them are pnc supporters that live there in Melanie. The people themselves either move or fix the sea wall it’s that simple or eventually people will die there. It’s sad but true.

@David Scott, I think the homes are in one of the new developments. For instance, areas such as Diamond and Providence have communities that are still in the building and development stage so that often accounts for the incomplete infrastructure and aesthetic. Some houses may be complete while other home owners are still building but that's the nature of that phase.

Before oil, there were some areas with fancy homes. The first time I went Guyana I was shocked to see the houses
