    This is an great documentary, as a rookie cop in São Paulo, you showed an piece of our reality. 18° Battalion is one of the most Hardcore areas in the capital, cops there are on a whole other level, this is a Força Tática company. They act like the first line of support for the small patrols units, what we call 01, squad cars with only 2 officers and no heavy weapons, they only got their pistols. To become a Força Tática cop you need to have some time and experience on the force and apply for a very difficult internship that can last months and only a few make it and earn their brassard, that black leather that they wear on their right arm. Every Battalion have a Força Tática company, they act in that especific Battalion Area and then we have CHOQUE, they are the elite and act around the whole state. When local cops cant handle the situation CHOQUE is called, we have 6: 1° ROTA our most elite cops when the job is patrolling high risk areas, you should do a documentary with them, is like a whole other police unit, 2° Marechal Mascarenhas, their job is security in high populated events like soccer matches and they have the absolute best motorcycle pilots. 3° Humaita, they are the ones you can see with shields in riots, 4° Is COE and GATE, our Special forces and SWAT, most difficult ones the get in. 5° Is our k-9 units and we have our mounted police force with horses that is the 9° of July Regiment.
    Brazilian police have a lot of different police forces, just like you said, the Civil Police is our detectives and military police is the tip of the spear, we have a few more and inside each one of them we have lots of different elite units, força tatica and CHOQUE are some of them. Nice job with this video, you really should dive deeper, especially in ROTA.

      @DungaBoss 5 месяцев назад +21

      Parecido, O BOPE, que é o Batalhão de Operações Policiais Especiais tem seu tipo de serviço e tipo de situação apropriada para ele. Cada unidade como o CHOQUE, ROTA ou Força Tática tem um treinamento especifico para cada situação. Uma unidade que existe no estado de São Paulo pode não existir no estado da Bahia, por exemplo, na Bahia existe o PETO e a RONDESP cada uma atua em um "segmento" de criminalidade. Cada estado controla sua policia e define o tipo de curso para atender a situação da criminalidade de sua jurisdição.

      @Seyer18022 5 месяцев назад +34

      @@Tam-cd8sp Not quite like BOPE, our "BOPE" would be our CHOQUE units, each one of them designed for an specifc kind of job. If you live in the US i think that força tatica would be like your cops SWAT, an elite group of THAT department, but their job can be, but no designed to be like, a home break in with a barricaded suspect and hostages, that is GATE job, one of ou CHOQUE units. Imagine that you are a patrol cop and you get yourself in a situation in some guetto somewhere, where criminals face cops with violence, your patrol unit is not equipped to deal with a situation where you have numerical disadvantage to face a mob, you would call your força tática unit, they have the training and gear to deal with it. Is like force ranks(?) if i could call it that way. 01/patrol cops > força tática > BAEP (like a força tatica but they cover a bigger area, they are a battalion size unit, not company > CHOQUE. Hope that i was able to explain better. Look up videos on our police force, just search on youtube "força tatica PMESP" or any other unit in my comment with PMESP after it and you will get some videos. Everywhere in the world there are places like this where crime rates are high. The police here are purposely trained for these cases. It is nothing to be ashamed of. I believe the officers here just wanted to show their duty and encourage younger generations to not get involved with crime or to see a future of fighting against crime if they feel like it is their duty.

    São Paulo is a bit different from other places in Brazil. Aside from cities near the port of Santos, drug dealers prefer to avoid confrontation, since it's most profitable to pause their activities for the 3~4 hour period that a raid like this lasts than having to shut down for weeks if they choose to get in a gunfight with cops, because as an aftermath of such situations, favelas are occupied by the police using even more specialized teams, like Rota and BAEP.

    I’ll start with this is the first time ever watching your content.
    I feel like the video does an exceptional job at trying to show the day to day of an intense police force and tries to show their views, thoughts; including their wins and loses. Police regardless of their location but especially in rougher areas see people on often their worst day, under extreme stress/duress. Regardless of what they are dealing with in their personal life, if they are sick, stressed, depressed, etc., they have to leave their loved ones everyday not knowing if it’s their last. They often do not make much money, and now are under constant scrutiny, under a microscope, and are left with choices of whether or not the split second life or death choice they make will get them locked up for the rest of their life even if it was the right choice which could lead to second guessing in a moment that jeopardizes their life and those around them.

      Hahaha verdade! Quero ver ele ir fazer uma incursão com os caveiras do BOPE.
      Entrar nas favelas de SP pode ser um desafio, mas nada se compara com as do Rio. Ali ele vai sentir na pele a tensão de guerra.

    Wow man, I've never heard of you before this video but your journalism is fantastic. That simple line at the beginning where you said "our goal wasn't to expose nor glorify these cops.. but instead to show the realities of their work" is what makes an amazing journalist, and I really enjoyed this video. I don't even if this is the type of content you typically upload, but I'm definitely subscribing to find out :D

    Police work is incredibly difficult; there are some bad apples that need to be removed and the standard for police should be raised. But for police who do their job, and do well deserve everyones respect and admiration.

    Thanks for making this so close to the reality with zero sensationalism.
