    I just saw that you have an Esteem grinder in the back ground. I got mine from Brett in 2015 or 16. It's a real shame he is no longer making those. They are rock solid and as far as I'm concerned the best grinder out there for that money. They totally accept all of the Bader accessories and make the perfect addition if you already have a Bader. Somebody should pick up that dropped ball and run with it.

      Nice catch, Karl. Yea, I've really enjoyed the grinder, and I'm glad I have it. Brett did a great job on it.

    Fantastic video! I just purchased a rotary table and this is exactly the info I needed.

    That looks great! One of the biggest problems I had was the area around the pivot flexing up when tightening down the clamp so I tacked a 5-40 nut on the back side for my 1/8" pivot and run a screw down in the plate to hold the pivot area down tight.

    Just found your channel... Interesting stuff... I've been wanting to try a liner lock, but so far all my builds/videos have been fixed blades... Take it easy...

    Hey chris as always great vid. So i have been searching no where have i seen any one sharing how they mill or cut the three sides of a tang of a slip joint.
    I understand the ratios but i have not seen anyone cut theirs. Could you point me in a good direction?????Thank..

      Hey Ralph. Check out this video where I review the Kennedy Fixture. I talk about getting the three sides of the tang set correctly. I believe that most folder makers just grind that area rather than mill them. It's something that you cut out, and then grind and test, grind and test, and grind and test until you get it set correctly. The Kennedy Fixture isn't necessary, It just helps.

      If you want to see a really basic way of doing it, check out my old slipjoint tutorial from 23 years ago.

    Stainless is actually pretty soft. What stainless is, is tough. That toughness gives us problems, when cutting and grinding. From what I hear machinist's love milling and cutting stainless on a lathe. Press On!

      Yea, it's been a bit of an adjustment moving to it over nickel silver.

    I’ve just bough a mini mill for milling liner reliefs and these videos have helped me immensely. Could you tell me what size rotary table you are using? Thank you.

    I have problems making it even, it is because I make several passes of the cutter since it is 8mm in diameter. what type and diameter is the one you use there? Thanks !

    why mill liners? what type knife needs milled liners ?

    • @cfcrawfordyout
      @cfcrawfordyout  3 года назад

      You will probably find milled liners on slipjoints. I think a lot of the liner locks and frame locks use washers. The main purpose of the milled liners in a slipjoint is to create an offset so that the liners don't leave rub lines on the tang of the blade. Hope this helps.
