NPC dialogue is nice but heisters were very quiet in the beta - the characters and how they interacted with each other in the heat of the heist is one of the things that got me hooked on payday in the first place. hope it's expanded more in the game!
Probably to avoid the same issue they ran into with 2. Not being able to get voice actors back in for more dialogue on new heists ect. Ron Pearlman for example.
Having cops give the players cues frees them up to get anyone in and record some audio.

@@thewhistler6537yeah, I think maybe they should just record some general lines for heisters, lines for opening vaults, bagging loot, taking down cameras, stuff that is basic but it’s atleast some interaction, or even some stuff like “nice shot” if a player near you snipes someone, just simple interactions
@@elderrusty541 I actually thought about this myself, they could probably hit a middle ground. Have characters aside from the one doing the action have a chance to speak. Ie. Dallas is near Joy when Joy takes out a sniper: "Joy has us covered, sniper down" or something. New heister comes out, use a somewhat generic call for them. Same situation except with the newbie instead of Joy: "New Guy/Girl has us covered." If they get the voice actors back in for the new dialogue afterwards, replace the generic call with their name.
Only special voice lines i've noted during the beta were when it gets loud and you go in the main hall and also when the cops switch on the extinguishers.

@@DrJump3rthat's exactly what I thought and what better way to start than with a video talking about the story. When I look back at the other dev diaries, they mainly have one topic and this one has 2 quite distinct topics. Like small hints that the ARG story starts with sound puzzle.
@@tomasgrim5016 yes. It's mainly about Sound. So when lore comes into the Video, connection Sound - lore could be draw. Dont have other explanation. Other dev diaries are shorter, the simply could have started a week earlier and amde Sound diary in the beginning. And now lore
Super excited to see that there's finally gonna be an actual storyline and order to follow with cutscenes inbetween heists.
Gives a lot more weight & personality to what you're doing and finally makes it a lot easier to follow the story, since that was kind of difficult to do at times in Payday 2.

@@theclone9123. In secret ending yeah but the "narrator" talked about stealing pardons. Which ending is canon then? In both endings all hesiters basically quit heisting and in both endings Bain is dead is one way or another. What if both endings have a little truth to canon? We will see

Far too underused in payday 2 and killed off too soon, shouldn't have been made the rat

Sound design is always a highlight of a payday game.
Nice to hear that they are Maturing Joy a lot more now as she's gotten older, Got a feeling she might be a favorite in the game for sure!

I doubt anyone's going to see this, but I just want to say that the music is one of my favorite things about PD2. From what I've heard, PD3 has already pretty much nailed its music. Super excited to hear all the new tracks!

I thought the same thing. It was so bad 😂
2:38 warms my heart when a dev says honor the legacy. Now these days it seems many devs don't do that for their games. Instead just try to completely rehaul it and slap mw2 on it when its nothing close to that. I like what they did with payday 3 a lot and them not reaching across the stars to achieve that and keep payday the way the community likes it, but also have those new changes that really make you feel like thats a good change they made. No doubt payday 3 will be fun for a majority of its community. They did a gr8 job.

I still cant believe we will get Payday 3. The 21st cant come fast enough. Love the change in personalities actually reflect changes in the games lore and time space.
Crazy how the one episode about audio is full of mic static.
So excited for the game. Everything I've seen from the betas have been LITERALLY exactly what 12 year old me wanted when imagining the next Payday while trying to complete Tabula Rasa back on the PS4 days. Thank you payday team for making a great game, I was genuinely so concerned with all of the splits in the development and games like Raid WW2 popped up. Thank you for saving gaming for another decade.

I love what I've played and heard. I'm curious if some old tracks are gonna come back, like the old Blueprints (favorite song in the series)
No background music and interview audio has a constant white noise in the background.
A great detail is that the audio episode has horrible audio.
You telling me that the new villains stole my $2,000,000,000 in offshore cash, now that's a real heist.
I hope they are gonna fix sound balance because I actually couldn't hear a crap when heisters mark or kill specials, I had to listen very carefully for it.

I dunno if u are going to hear but it would be really good if you could add like hitmans blood money music style in stealth. For example, when u start a heist, the song is quiet but whenever u takeout a guard the song changes or when ur sneaking behind a guard the song gerd quieter or with more tension. Its one of those things that i would love to have in pd3

Really hope you extend the small talk system to include conversations between heisters about the current map/situation or just general banter akin to how its done in games like Vermintide 2 / Darktide.
I'm sorry.. But W h y would they have small talk or banter during a heist, where it's been said they're extra focused and desperate to get the job done? Especially in Stealth. Then they can't really talk at all.

In the future updates, I hope the animations for certain weapons change/overhauled like payday 2 did. Some animations looks too weird or unsatisfying - specifically the revolver.

I’m usually VERY against slideshow type cutscenes but in this it feels more mysterious which I feel is more perfect for this game.
For an episode about sound, the static from the commentary mics is driving me crazy!

Really looking forward to this. it's like a great reinvention of a game that lasted an era, and the heist's phases are more granular, and isn't binary anymore. (between silence and loud).

Unfortunately Markus' mic isn't working properly, especially in a episode about sound. I still enjoyed the episode, I really love sound!
please add that you can lock the doors, even the vault ones, and so the cops have to break them/break in wich will take some time

Microphone quality was a little iffy for this video! Would have loved some louder background music, made it all kind of 2012 RUclips guide
Please include some, if not all of the music from payday 2 in payday 3. Maybe at least some of the fan favorite songs like Evil Eye, Razormind, and 8Bits are Scary.
