The only video online that shows how to do this properly. Bookmark it so you don't spend hours looking for it when you forget what to do :)
Just tried it. WORKED EXCELLENT. You don't even need to lay it out. Just grab the tarp at those three points while standing and it folds itself right up!
+plockekill Enjoy my friend. :D - Luke
Wonderful! Well illustrated, Luke! Thank you!
He's the tarp whisperer!
By Far..... By Far, the most important thing I've learned in a while......
Its like magic every time. Thanks
that was magic, i declare Luke to be a witch, quick see if he floats
lol
He must hide his broom somewhere
Did this ice cold on a new (first use) DD 3.5x3.5m tarp in pitch darkness. Worked like a champ, no drama fast and easy back into the bag. Thanks for sharing it's a great trick.
Just got my first tarp, wasn't sure if I had loops along the spine of it so I had to unfurl it to see before my first backpacking trip, later next month. I could not get it to fit back in the bag. You saved me a lot of hassle. Got my sub for sure!
You just demonstrated how I fold my flat sheets. Even to the "loop" I put in the center of them all. LOL
It’s like magic. Changed how I fold my tarp. Awesome
Nice brother, military style, I did a video on the exact same thing a couple of years ago, very very well demonstrated
Awesome man! This is the second time watching this because I needed a reminder. Now hopefully I can remember this when I'm out in a few weeks. Two thumbs up!
Awesome knowledge. Thank you for sharing. I love tarp camping and this was great.
Ground breaking stuff Luke!! Life changer. As always thanks for sharing.
I dont comment much, but i have been subbed for a while now. I missed this video and ran a search on youtube on how to fold a tarp. Since i am a subscriber of yours i seen your vid and clicked it first. That is the neatest trick i have seen in a while...55 years old and still learning. I dont know how many videos that are out there on this trick, but i only needed to see 1. Now i just need to find something to do with the larger silnylon stuff sacks i sewed to fit my tarps. Thanks for sharing, Strength and Honor to you as well.
Thank you for this useful info! Be sure that I will give it a try on my DD 3x3 tarp. Greetings from Switzerland.
Bro! That was fuggin' slick. Thanks for that nugget of info.
Thanks Luke. I will do this for now on. Great tip.
after about 5 or 6 uses and giving up trying to fold my DD 4x4M tarp back into the bag... boy howdy was this super-useful! The initial fold is always the worst when solo, and this takes out the first two!I was able to fold this more efficiently solo than i was yesterday morning with help, and in less time. After this initial trick, just keep folding to avoid making air pockets; boom, i can fit the tarp back in the bag, *with extra guy lines and stakes*.
Hi Luke, I can't wait to see another episode hiking. You made it look too easy.
Nicely done Luke. Thanks.
thank you for sharing,Luke
Pretty cool Luke~ I will be sure to try that on my next outing. Stay warm~
This is a nice way to make folding the tarp more manageable but once you reach this stage where you have effectively quartered the size of the tarp, go by the rule I learned - fold into thirds not in half. Trust me - I don't know why, maybe because there are fewer folds, but it always seems to fold better in thirds every time.
Brilliant. Thank you for your sharing
That's great. Can't wait to give it a go.
Very good tip indeed. Thanks
Great little tip...
Thanks for the tip
Very cool idea. Looks great👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Thank You I needed that.
Nice one Luke origami of the tarps keep up the great videos.
Love God Love your channel. woah that was pretty cool. I'm going to try that when I get home. Great tip.
Nice tip. Thanks...
Awesomeness my Friend👍⭐👍⭐😎Great Tip' Thanks for Sharing the Knowledge,It's a Powerful Tool........
Brilliant thank you.
Great idea!
Great tip.
Wow! I didn't expect that. Lol Pretty cool Luke.
I fold my shirts in a similar way. Awesome!
great tip
That was really cool
wow now that looked easy going to try that ,ty
useful tip!...thanks Luke...woods
Outstanding technique Luke. The only downpoint is, that - depending on the ground - one should only walk on a tarp if the ground ain't rocky or filled with poky stuff. One little thorn or sharp stone and you got a hole. But in general, a great tip my friend! Cheers, Marc
Greg Letter
Dang, you're right!!! Thanks a lot! Cheers, Marc
IMO, as long as you are holding the right points, not necessary to lay the tarp down? My two cents...
I got a fitted corner 10x10 canopy that i have to return to amazon and fit back into the box with the shade canopy system. It’s going to be real tight - hope your tip works.
Super! Thanks
Very great and very useful tip - thanks :-)
Wow! Awesome!
Thank you!
Nice one!
Just like magic!
Awesome! Thanks Much!
Awesome thank u Sir
Good video! Thanks, --- Clark

May I recommend a best of the best series? so many reviews it would be nice to see.
NICE!
Wow!!
Slick!
Cool
What kinda tarp I that I am looking into getting a nice tarp that may look like that or any other
Hope all is well Luke, will this technique work on any size tarp?
Now let's see that under pouring rain & with 70mph winds...hahaha.......
Any thoughts on a 24x24' tarp?
I wonder if this works on a tarp triple this size
Hahaha, the last time its just fun with all the pointers xD
I'm trying to fold a 14 pound Vinyl tarp and fit it into my back pack
😎
Hey Luke, there wasn't enough arrows can you show us again ?
This is done even more easily if the tarp is already draped over a ridgeline.
Nice trick! But does it work on rectangular tarps as well, or only squares? I've been trying to find a good way to pack up my 4x3m tarp in windy conditions and this looked very promising. I'll have to try it.
Curious, did it work?
it's a rectangle in the video?
I just tried it with a 2x3m Tarp. It does work. But of course after the initial step you do not end up with a square but with a rectangle. But you can fold that down just as well
Cool:) thanks luke..but but..what if the tarp is 16' x 16' :)
or you have 8 foot arms:) he he
when is the next camp out.
+grimdeathlord It should be this Sunday! Cross your fingers that the weather holds.
Have a good one.

What about memory creases won't that weaken the fabric over time or is that not true??? The only reason I ask is because I was told not to fold it, but to just stuff it into the stuff sack to prevent memory in fabric..
It's true, but a good tarps lasts long enough (several years of use) even with the memory creases.
I cant commnt on trueth or not since I just started folding. But you can also vary vary the folding slightly. e.g. dont fold it exactly in half all the time but 1-2 cm off the middle and vary that a bit. It will not give a perfect fold then but should avoid memory creases pretty decent.
and also: Once folded a bit instead of folding again you might consider rolling it up to further reduce number of folds.

Which tarp is this?
+Josh Alberto aquaquestonline.com/product/camo-tarp/
😂🎉❤ that's almost stupid simple.....lol😅
Works if you aren't using a really stiff Walmart heavy duty tarp and are instead using something actually flexible lol
where is all the adventures????????
Tried it on my poly tarp, didnt work. Poly tarps are WAY more stiff than canvas ones. Still great technice none the less
Not a bad method for folding a tarp quickly. But... Strength and honor?... In folding a tarp? 😏
[folds tarp]... Be All That You Can Be.
[folds another tarp]... This We’ll Defend.
🤣🤣🤣
Bruh, seeing your newer videos i can see youve been pumping iron lately.
Are you a wizzard? xD
Witchcraft!
Great tarp folding method. But it doesn't address the fact that all tarps and tents are supplied with storage sacks that are too small. Folding a shelter in a controlled factory environment and doing the same thing in the field, often with support lines remaining attached, are two entirely different things. I always toss out the supplied stuff sack right away (it's just going to be frustrating to use) and buy newer, larger stuff sacks to make things easy. The manufacturers supply too-small sacks precisely because the extremely small package is attractive to the consumer. Shame on them all.
DD always has big enough storage sacks. I never had trouble stuffing them. Not even with bad technique.
Dang it Luke, stop using logic to fold them tarps.
Cat
From a convenient point of view, in fact, I prefer instant tents. #tentsme
well, now I feel like an idiot. Take me like ten minutes to fold my stupid tarp.
I dunno. I’ll try it but, I think my tarp is larger and a heavier grade.
WITCHCRAFT!!!!!
good!
