It's a shame Nintendo has stopped caring about ACNH. I had high hopes for an update or DLC introducing zelda items akin to the mario ones, along with the zelda villagers. Imagine finding a certain amount of rupees on the beach then giving them to kappin instead of miles to find one of the villagers 🥺

That darn Iggy was on all 3 of my GameCube memory cards and would constantly move out of one town just to go to another. I could not get rid of him, and his house was just toilets 😅
Of all the villagers, Poko is the one I find the saddest to never return because according to his Japanese eReader card, he is Ike's son. Ike got to return to the series starting with New Leaf's Welcome Amiibo update, but not his son which is just tragic (poor guy, no wonder he's cranky.) I also think Ike has one of the cutest designs of the cubs, and he would definitely be among my favorite jock villagers.
Poor Wolf Link. I think one reason why more crossover villagers didn't make it to NH was because of the Sanrio fiasco. However, they didn't take into consideration that Zelda and Splatoon are very popular games and had new games come out recently so they wouldn't have to reprint anything like they did with Sanrio. I would've paid for an amino figure for Link even if I couldn't afford it. I want Link on my island.
This video must have been a lot of work. I believe the missing villagers sadly will not be added to the game. But if they do, I'd love to see the maximum number of villagers you can have on your island increased.

The popular theory about Champ was that he and Porter were the same person, because Champ was introduced at the same time the train station mechanic was dropped and then himself dropped with the trains were brought back. Of course, then Porter's birthday was given as different from Champ's, jossing that theory.

YES! What have they got against birds? My main island is bird exclusive, meaning only the bird, chicken, duck, Eagle, owl and penguin types. I'm going through all of them to try and get all their photos and I'm over halfway now

What a great video! It's cool to see all of the animals from the past games we didn't get to see this time around. I know a lot of people are sad that ACNH was "abandoned" but it did take 4 years for them to update New Leaf. Plus new games are always on the horizon!
All the islanders in the original games had different types of personalities than the villagers in your town. Even though the village and island personalities correspond, most of the islanders had their personalities changed when they became actual "villagers" in later games. I hope these types of personalities come back in a future game. Also, a note, Holden and Filly can't live in your town (without mods), they only would visit the RV campground.
I remembered Huggy and Cupcake. I had them in my very first village in the first Animal Crossing. Nintendo really needs to bring back all these missing villagers because there are some we haven't had before.

The island villagers from the original game were some of the most amazing designs. I‘d want them back so badly. And of course Woolio, the coolest sheep ever. I had never heard of him until I started a new town in the original AC a few months ago and he moved in. I‘m a big fan ever since.
Quetzal and Leigh will probably never make it back into New Horizons or any other upcoming game, since they are designed to resemble Native Americans, which can be a bit controversial nowadays. Anyways, if I had to bring eight of them back, one of each personality type (4 from GameCube and 4 from e+ like in the 2.0. update), these would be my choices. Dozer (GCN; Lazy) Patricia (e+; Normal, and renamed Rina in English) Poko (e+, Jock, and renamed Noah in English) Megumi (e+, Peppy, and renamed Sugar in English) Chuck (GCN; Cranky) Valise (GCN; Snooty) Flash (GCN; Smug) Carrot (e+; Big Sister, name remains the same)
I hope some or all of these come back in the next Animal Crossing game, if and when that happens. Honestly, Champ is my favorite I never had so I hope they figure out out a way to make him and Porter co-exist.
I've never played a Legend of Zelda or Splatoon game, but I still think it's a shame we never got any of those villagers or items. Heck, we didn't even get all the Mario items, they just gave us a few different ones, probably hoping we wouldn't notice.
It was always so weird to me that they never brought back the original islander villagers for the... main game literally based on an island 😂 They also could've made an absolute killing bringing back Amiibo villagers, especially if they had designed even more of them (give me Mario and Pokemon villagers!) I've often wondered if Nintendo tracks the popularity of the villagers... they could log what villagers appear and stay on player islands most often, which ones are most frequently allowed to move away, etc. Perhaps there's a lottery at their HQ where the designers of the popular villagers get rewards, and the least popular get fired. 😛

I still don't know why Nintendo simply abandoned ACNH instead of milking it as much as they can. People want new content and would pay for another dlc. They are terrible at supporting their own game, but I'm sure that's not a big surprise to anyone.
I only like the Smug, Cranky, Snooty, and some Normal and Peppy. The Big Sisters are trouble makers and I get tired of the Lazy and Jock types because of the bugs and exercise stuff. Some of the Normals are rude. And some of the Peppys get annoying.
