- Why is our second shot always better than our first go? What is holding us back from our best selves, both on the course and off it? In the first show of the New Year, Erik goes back to the basics with a deeply personal pod about the meaning of "Player B" and how it has changed him as a person and golfer. Don't miss this one.

Just wanted you to know EAL, I recently faced the hardest year of my life as well and the first time I heard this episode I still had such a long way to go it seemed to finally "start something that didn't exist" like you said. I took a risk and found myself in a hole and I truly didn't know what the outcome was going to be. I learned the hard way as well how important my "why" really had to be. I had to learn, in real life finally, how to finally let go. It did take my life and I feel successful now like you said because of who I have become, regardless of my initial failures. You've been a light for me for years, I finally finished my task and as I take a breath now and fall back endlessly in love with this game, I realize this episode was a foundation for me when I needed that push the most to keep moving forward towards my goal, and I know I will come back to this episode and Dear Golf and so many others for the rest of my life when I need them again, or at the very least I know they will find me, so I have to at least try to thank you -- even if it takes years for you to finally see this... maybe just as I have randomly come back to this episode on my own when I needed to finally hear it again with different ears and eyes. I hope this message finally reaches you the same way.
You're an incredibly special human being, Erik. Your RGC family is truly one of the greatest gifts we could never give back to enough, and we will always be grateful for everything it took from you and everyone on your team to bring it to where it is today. Keep following your why, and I will continue to do the same. I'll see you at a meetup someday, I know it, and I'm sure you really will let me tell you all about it.
Let's both have some fun again until then, my guy... I'll meet you there.

"Adventure implies danger; it implies difficulty; it implies challenge; it certainly implies not knowing the outcome... it's all an adventure. We just don't know." -- "...the ball has already landed."
Great podcast Eric it almost felt like I was in the room with you. Really expressing just how important it is to be present and see a golf shot or anything, whether it's good or bad you never will know beforehand or even sometimes after if it's truly beneficial or not. when you look at it most of the time the "negative" is really something positive that moves with time whereas "positive" is more still and not very exciting. Golf is an exact replica of life. You have good time and bad times, different people come in and out of your life, you use the tools that have been given to you to work with the life/shot you have, you learn how to fall in love with your surroundings and when you're lucky you get to put balls in holes 🤣
That was wonderful.
Thanks, Erik!
Carpe cursum.
Needed this talk this morning.
Always strive to be player B, for you and anyone around you
