I found the exact same brass unicorn a few weeks ago and bought it as a knickknack. When I got home, I figured out that it was actually a wine bottle opener as well as the regular bottle opener. The horn is the wine bottle opener and at the bottom is a regular bottom opener.!
Love the plush pumpkin and the orange skirt-would love that one in a tropical weight wool for fall (I live in a cold place). Also try out pipcorn cheddar crunchies, its like cheetos but healthier, I love them, end up inhaling a bag in 1 day >.>''
Our Goodwill here is usually very nicely priced. They do have their wild moments, though. I always thought that goodwill was a charity. Ours puts on things all the time, and the Easter Seals is who runs ours. When my dad was a kid, the Easter Seals did a ton for his family. (His mom was disabled for most of his life with her, and they had a family of 9 kids.) I guess Goodwill always kind of had a special place in my heart for that reason.
I think they do take part in some charitable activities. I think it might be the profit distribution that makes the difference, but I’m not a business expert, I only repeat what others say so I could be totally wrong 😂 But yeah my goodwills have also not been totally effected by the price hike either. At least the one I frequent. I’ve been to some farther out that are a lot more pricey. I guess it depends on the management. The one nearest me is FANTASTIC.
@@DressMeUpScotty That's delightful!! We have an "Arc" thrift shop and it is THE WORST for price hikes. The stuff they have there are usually priced so ridiculously, I tend to avoid the place all together. I've seen them charge $25.00 for a pair of regular jeans that still had the tags on them. Oh, and those dollar store vases? They're usually pushing $5 at that thrift. It's not even consignment, it's a thrift for charity. It's wild. 😂
Ngl… I regret not getting the unicorn cork screw. I could have put a wine bottle cork on it and displayed it that way and not worried about it poking anyone. Ah well.
They were cute! If they had been a little looser in the crotch and waist I woulda gotten them for sure! They were a 4 so I’ll be keeping an eye out for a 6.
If you ever decide to do a Cider haul (I don’t think you have forgive me if you have) would you consider getting the velvet cowl neck dress with the stars from them? I keep seeing ads for it, and when you mentioned looking for a velvet dress I instantly thought of it again!
I’ve been really tempted to do a cider haul haha I get so many ads for them too almost constantly. I haven’t seen that dress but I’ll look. If they’re having any good Black Friday sales maaaaybe. Altho I just picked up a couple Lacemade things so I’ll probably do a video on that too.
@@DressMeUpScotty I’ve never seen lace made clothes, I’ll have to check them out! Or if you do a haul I will definitely watch. Have a feeling if you like their clothing I will fall in love with them. 😅
I was really enjoying doing it but yeah especially that last show the turnout definitely was going down and the amount of payoff for the work I was putting is was going down. I have tons of leftover inventory so I’m still deciding how I want to go forward. Maybe I’ll jump back in and try to do a cyber Monday sale or something next week. We shall see!
I hear ya. I’m so sad for that last show. Your stuff was the real deal vintsge but unfortunately I think on Whatnot it’s all about fast fashion imho Me too I got rid of my sweaters for like $1 each hehe cause I had so much Thrifted .. do you still plan to list them on thriftmeupscotty?
@@thegirlwhohadnoshoes3256 Yeah I will be listing on Thrift Me Up pretty soon here I just need to specifically set aside the time. I’m not too good at time management so sometimes I don’t get done what I want to 😅 but I will try to get stuff up this week in time to maybe ship next week after the holiday. I’m so nervous though because this time of year is the worst for packages being mishandled by all carriers.
Vests are so difficult to find, and ugh even more so in NY with our subpar thrift shops. Thought you did pretty well this time- reminded me to dig out my velvety stuff!
Agreed vests are so hard to find. It was so amazing seeing so many in one place! They’re usually mixed in the tank tops or jackets but they put them all together.
Gosh you're so good at finding nice clothing! Here in Switzerland the thriftstores are a lil lacking. We mostly have those with army in the name. Just forgot the name, whoops. Sadly also not cheap. I love seeing packed thrift shops here on RUclips! While I am here I wanted to ask where you got the fairy lights from, that you have in your background :-)
I think American thrift stores tend to be packed due to overconsumption of fashion sadly. The rate at which people buy then get rid of clothes is a lot higher. But it is nice for those of us that don’t like to buy new! I got the fairy lights off Amazon back when I got married for a backdrop and reused them in my room. I searched curtain string lights and it’s one long cord with strings of lights going down. Hope that helps!
Omg your goodwill had a version of the Lord of the Rings The Fellowship of the Ring book I've been looking for! Maybe it's a good luck I'll find it soon! Love your thrifting videos so much! Always brings me cozy vibes 🍄🥰 Love all the vests you've found!!!
Ah yes the struggle of finding vests... I Found one this year. Literally one in a year... Most of the vests I find are at least three sizes too big or don't close over the chest 😅
That dance in the terrible $30 dollar pants gave really strong Rachel Maksy vibes XD I just learned recently that the thrift store that I have had the most luck with went out of business, and I'm freaking heartbroken. It's frustrating to have to find a new thrift store that's worth a darn, especially when you keep either hitting duds or insanely high prices for stuff you know isn't worth it. How many do you tend to hit up regularly? How far are you willing to travel to find new thrift places? Also, forgive me, my memory is terrible - I'm assuming you've checked ThriftBooks for nicer copies of the Tolkien books? I know they have an actual section for the collectables, but I think sometimes you can find something in the regular section...
Yeah so I have 4-6 stores I check out regularly in a general area then I have 2-4 more that are in a different area I’ll check out if the others haven’t been good to me. I have “routes” haha. Since I live in Sacramento there are a lot of stores and the distance varies since the county is so spread out. My usual favorite route is like 20 minutes out but I have a few stores I sometimes go to that are more like 30. And I know the feeling of your fav store closing 😭 we had a few Thrift Towns here and they were my fav. Their prices were the BEST, they organized them well and the stuff was good quality. But they closed down their Cali branch after the lockdown. I have heard of thrift books and have bought a few educational books there. I’ve been hesitant on the prettier books because I don’t trust that I’ll get the exact book in the photo since they’ll have all their second hand copies under one listing. I’m super picky so I’d hate to get an edition I don’t like aesthetically. I’ll probably keep stalking eBay 😆
@@DressMeUpScotty I did a little research last night, looking at the different shops in my city, and So Many of them are, like, selling stuff that's upwards of a hundred bucks :/ I was really, really not impressed. I'm going to see about hitting their location up sometime in the near future, probably with my auntie who crochets and knits. Oh man that sucks! But a lot of places have been hit hard by the lockdowns, which is depressing. But! I did find out from my coworker (the same one that told me the place was selling everything for a dollar before the doors closed) that my favorite thrift shop did NOT close, it just moved! The unicorn was a corkscrew!
Waaaaa!! Wait!!! Bookmarked!
The unicorn was a wine bottle opener, to pull out the cork:)
Oh that makes sense! I love that! I still probably would have at some point dropped it on my foot 😂
I totally WANT your blouse!!!! And that squishy pumpkin. So adorable.
Ya know, I tell myself I don't need more clothes, my boyfriend tells me I don't need more clothes, but I always end up with more clothes.
Hahaha same.
I'm the same and then when I do need clothes cause I/people I care about have grown out of clothes I can never find any that any of us like
Oh yesss, I have an addition

I was looking in the comments for this kind of explanation. As soon as I saw that sharp horn I thought it could be a bottle opener...
Love that mustard skirt and the burgundy sweater vest is perfect with that shirt!
🥰
Those blue and brown vests were so cute.
You could wear short vests over tunics. All your pieces are adorable ❤️❤️ xx
🥰
Adding a mustard skirt to my ISO list.
Yess!
I think the pieces you came home with are great! The shorter vest you showed in the change room would be cute over a dress:)

C) YAS MORE THRIFTING CONTENT :D

I love the leaf shirt you're wearing :)
Ty!
You found quite a few things for having a bad thrift day! I especially like the vests.
Yeah you’re right! The first store was great! Just wish I wasn’t rushed in there so I could have filmed more. I’ll have to go earlier next time.
Amazing as always 💜looking forward to your DIY’s lovely one 😊❤

Yeah Fab Finds came through! Weave and Goodwill were lacking that day.
The Mustard skirt paired with your new burgundy vest and thar pretty blouse you're wearing looks so good on you!!
