+James Seung Woops just saw this now. Anyway, I'm not sure if she still have a pixiv (since I tried searching it and no result). Her other works and some light novel illustrations can be found in some websites like danbooru though. I personally like her illustrations for the Atelier game.
i love the way it looks so simple when its sped up i spend at least 8 hours finishing a piece sometimmes a week just to make sure i dont get tired of it and ruin it.
AHH, Awesome drawing. Hopefully I can get a tablet soon and join you guys in the technology drawing style! I don't suck on paper but I think I'll suck on computer haha. ESPECIALLY THE HANDS, HOW DO YOU EVEN DRAW THE HANDS SO MAGICALLY D:
It's an illustrator called "Hidari". Did the original character designs for the anime series "Fractale" and "Natsuiro Kiseki", as well as the game Atelier Ayesha, and a bunch of illustration work for music artists such as Diverse System and Sound Horizon.
Wow- the cartoons they make in america can be just as beautiful as the japanese ones. Have you even read anything from marvel or watched some of the disney, dreamwork studios and pixar films? They tell a just as amazing story as the japanese equivalent does.
You should definitely start on paper if you want to learn to draw. It will strengthen your hand in getting used to sketching. But starting on a tablet if you have no experience on paper, to me would seem like entering a soccer game when you've never played. If you wish to get better start on paper but whatever you want to draw look up reference, it will help immensely.
Did you know that left-handed people are more talented than right-handed ones? Well not more talented but they are prone to be born with more potential. That's why the best tennis players are mostly left-handed.
first absolutely amazing artwork. second there are a couple of times during this vid when it almost seems like an actual print rather than a digital work. and third its so weird how the artist draws with their left hand hand signs with the right!
Not to derail the string of useless comments here... I must add that the workflow from start to finish, used by this artist, is pretty impressive here.
tip: spend hours not minutes on ur drawings. this vid is timelapsed, so our brain unconsciously think that these artists draw this fast, but really they dont.they take time (hours) making these drawings and painting them and we should too! so keep drawing!!
Digital painting is actually easier... You can see that in this video too, the artist amend the line art all the time, moving/rotating/rescaling parts of the line art. There's also absolute control over the width of the line which goes great with zooming...
Well my own avatar is hand drawn, and that was before I bought a cintiq, cintiq really is awesome! It looks almost like she is not using layers though.
i honestly dont understand why people argue abour the difference between anime and cartoon. i see it simply as cartoons are western, and anime's are japanese. The difference between the two are very obvious. Anime is obviously more realistic and and detailed and is aimed towards a much more mature audience. Cartoons look much more fictional in drawing style and is aimed towards a younger range of audiences. Theyre both enjoyable so just stop arguing about it.
Anime has origins both in USA and Japan. Japanese history is during the pop culture periods like Edo. We can say alot of Ukiyo-e like Hokusai (who coin the term), influence it too. You could even argue like Tales of Genji influnced Shoujo. Its a romance with over head drawings and perspective. Or Kabuki Theature has the history of bishies too, because women were no longer in those Theatures, and so men took over the women parts.
It depends on your style preferences. Illustrator has you making lines by plotting dots and lines, then adjusting the curvature of the lines. Photoshop is like drawing with a pen and brush. Illustrator is technical and painstaking to get quality renders, but it looks way cleaner. Most people in RUclips videos use Photoshop. Check out an Illustrator tutorial to see.
The western part, there is a ton. During the war, the panel style we see today is because of western influence. Japanese did not have those panels. Tezuka, was inspired by disney, and show girls, giving the sterotype eyes. Also Disney has good relationships with the Miyazaki team. At Ghibli museum, Ive seen the rotary claymation, that Disney also uses. The term anime is just the japanese saying of animation, and its written in katakana, meaning anime is a foreign loan word, proving anime is both
i think digital painting is more forgiving of mistakes but I think its much easier to start drawing with pencil/pen and paper instead of digital, but that might just be because its how I started
I think it also depends on what kind of work you want to accomplish. If it's between Illustrator and Photoshop definitely Photoshop. Also photoshop can be a pain to master but when you do I think the reward is greater than other programs, just in my experience.

Everytime I see an art drawn by Hidari, I always feel inspired. Still my favorite illustrator.

These Wacom live painting vids are really pretty inspirational to an aspiring artist regardless of what style you ultimately draw in .

Oh yeah! And, don't feel bad people! Get inspired instead

Made me want to buy a wacom... When i move back home, i'm getting it.
Little off topic, but the people who make SAI Paint Tool would make so much more money if they released a Mac version...
Such an inspiration, thank you for the video!

I can't stand it either, so I just listen to something else in another tab, this is still an awesome vid! ^^
one layer left handed digital artist. horay!

I currently just do drawing on paper. Really hoping to get my hands on this tablet. I guess it just makes drawing a lot easier.
大好き
It's amazing!
i love how u draw!!!!!
Simply amazing. Well done! Can't wait to be that good myself. :D
News flash: Can be done with a pencil, but that is not the point, Cintiqs are awesome.
