This is so weird for me! I am not only an Australian who loves John Farnham, but I was a Danish bsby who lived in Sweden as a small child. I remember hearing ‘Sadie the Cleaning Lady’ on the radio….I was 3 years old, and it one of those tunes that ‘lived in my head’ for years. When I was feeling happy, I would hum it….sometimes I still do. We moved to Australia when I was 6 years old. I listened to John Farnham’s songs for years in Australia before realising that one of the first tunes I can recall from the other side of the world was also him. And now, to see one of my favourite songs he did when I was a young adult in Australia, is being done so wonderfully in my second country (Denmark being first as I was born there, but Sweden being the culture and language I knew when I came to Australia). It is not a big deal to anyone else, but I was pretty ‘disconnected’ as a kid, no one else spoke my language or understood my culture…I had to adapt and eventually did…..but it is soooooo nice to see my cultural parts come together…from the other side of the earth.
He is singing the Voice very well. He has a good voice. I am an Aussie and I love John but this is the next generation so bound to have someone step up.

I believe Tommy takes his favourite songs that he has heard all his life. (from childhood, some of them are probably songs that his parents liked) I think that's why he does all the covers justice. Because he only chooses songs he loves! Sweden is BIG in music! I've listened to all world hits, and so has nearly all Swedes! (If they aren't tone-deaf) 😉 PS! I hope you know how many of the songs Tommy is singing, which are written/composed by Swedes??? The nr1 currently active hit-maker/composer/producer in the world is Swedish. Only Paul McCartney is above him, and he isn't active any longer. Martin Sandberg (aka Max Martin) born just outside of Stockholm. (I Want It That Way, It’s My Life, Since U Been Gone, Hit Me ...Baby One More Time, Oops!…I Did It Again, Shake It Off, Roar, I Kissed a Girl, We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together, and so on....) There are so many Swedes that are internationally known, who you just don't realise are Swedish! But, Tommy is our latest National Treasure! We're so proud of him!
Tommys cover is the only one that I've heard, so far, that does justice to John's song. Its nice to see younger generations getting into this iconic song. Tommy has a great voice..very powerful and big range. Doesnt quite sing it with the passion that John does...but it's very good anyway❤
They would definitely blow the roof off if they sung together. Not the same passion and emotion as John but it's great the next generation is taking it on. John would have made a great mentor for him. There was actually a Swedish lady in the live of Part 7 which was fantastic. I was actually in Sweden in 1975 during a trip with my folks - so beautiful. The only words I remember are Sov Got for sleep well LOL!! I also have Norweigan heritage on my Mum's side. Most Aussies are such a mixture. Actually I would like to know what the Swedish fans think because Youre the Voice was No 1 in Sweden for John. Also, Im having major streaming problems here besides this horrible flu. Thanks guys ❤
