Originally known as St. Catherine's Villa, showing on the 1862 OS map (but not named until the 1896 map). Pre-dates The Old Coach House (Merlins) which still remains boarded up. Thank heavens they cleared all this a couple of years back or it would have all ended up on the beach in a few years.
I wonder what use of the land blackgang has in mind for that bit? Merlins would make a good cafe for outside the main season

The old coach house has been open for well over a year now.
It's quite uninteresting inside.
