The pain in his voice when hes rapping about his pops. Em needed a father figure and he abandoned him. Much respect to everyone who grew up without a father.

Back in 2018, I thought "Kamikaze" was the real shit, but "Music To Be Murdered By" is in a whole new level, and that is saying a lot given how great "Kamikaze" is. "You Gon' Learn", "Lock it Up", "I Will", "Those Kinda Nights", "Stepdad", "Godzilla" are great songs, but in my opinion, "Darkness" and "Leaving Heaven" are the best, most powerful songs in "Music To Be Murdered By". Whenever I listen to "Darkness", I really DO feel darkness consume me, and whenever I listen to "Leaving Heaven", I can feel his emotions overwhelm me, almost becoming my own. To me, Marshall/Eminem/Slim Shady will ALWAYS be the G.O.A.T. He saved my live with his lyrics when I was suffering from a severe depression and had suicide attempts. His music is what kept giving me strength to continue fighting. I listen to him since I was a kid, and will continue listening until I die. He once said "The legend of the angry blond lives on through you" and "I'ma be around forever, entertain even in the ground", and I know for sure he will, because Kings Never Die, and the Rap God has the secret to immortality. Give 'em hell, Marshall! You are the King no one will EVER dethrone, and no one else alive will ever come close to what you are and what you achieved.
Hey there great comment I can relate to you too and first and foremost I really hope you're well and happy now reaching out from the UK Beautiful stopped me from taking my own life one year I've never been so sure of it I was googling ways to take myself out and I would put the song beautiful on and even though I was dead inside that song made me close my eyes and think of everyone I would be hurting and decided to fight Had to come back to edit because I just realised it was the same year 2018 x
This man is a real soldier, think about all the shit he went through and just imagine being in his shoes, try to think about all the scars he has,and i don't mean the one's visible,i mean the one's inside, the one's that will never leave him. He's my childhood super hero and will be for the rest of my life, much love Marshall. Signed, one of the Stan's.
@@kittybajko5965 It took me more than one listen to get into it. I was so surrounded by Kamikaze for a moment in time so going to walk on water and he didn't have such a rage in the song sounded off to me, then I started digging pretty far back in his stuff and I was able to really get into it-

And i just try to dont fall down at this place Again you known .... eminem is my favorite rapper
Seriously tho! Everything em does is special in its own way. This gets way to much hate. In 10 years people will call this a classic, this album is so so 🔥 it’s a 11/10
Every album has a song that fails to get the recognition it deserves and is severely underrated. This is that song. The flows, substance, pain, anger and skyler is just so overlooked on this album
"When i look down at my legacy (leg i see), a bunch of dogs tryna dry hump it" this is why i love Eminem i have listened to this song a lot and i just now noticed that.
@Anna 11 no problem, i figured i would share on the slight chance i wasn't the only person that hadn't noticed it xD. gotta say i was expecting a lot more shit from people for not noticing it before
I love the ending to this song. Hes not trying to be lyrical or flow his words as hard as he does rapping, hes just talking straight facts. I also love that they didnt edit the clip, you can hear the mics distortion from him getting close and raising his voice suddenly. Perfection.
@@lucahoffmann7430 But he would never passed through the shit he passed... So just him can answer the question: what's better? No't having gone through the shit he went through or having the life he has today?
@Findlay Bennett but he wouldn't be here without them , he should show gratitude no matter what they did to him , they are his parents after all not some strangers that treated him bad
@DiTrx he was beat and molested by his mother's druggy boyfriends not mention getting cigarettes put out on his back and neck (plural) his mother used to give him pain killers as a kid to keep him quiet, he was bullied in school and got beat into a coma and his mom still didn't pull him out of the school, his father tried to reach out to him after he saw Em make it. His mother sued him and was money hungry. He made amends with his mother in "Headlights". You obviously don't know Eminems biography lol you said "not some strangers that treated him bad"? How much worse of parents can you get. Also he does show gratitude @4:03 #yournotastan
He’s definitely better now from a technical, rap aspect, but the only reason ppl say he’s worse now is because he doesn’t have the same aggression as he did earlier; the raw, gritty, crazed (I couldn’t think of a better word lol) tone to his voice. He’s kinda got that in this song which is why it’s so good.
@@ayhamshaheed7740 Kamakazi album was full of rage, but people bitched about that to, that he was to angry. people don't know what they want and they just bitch about anything they can nowadays.
@@NoName-pu6yn that’s very true. Kamikaze was tooo dope tho a masterpiece for sure. Eminem’s always been getting criticism since the beginning. In ten years time ppl will look back at kamikaze and recognise its brilliance
1:35 into this stellar song. Dudes not only a lyrical genius but to compliment his words from this time to the skylar chorus.... This Man flows with the beat and the melody so perfectly.... Simultaneously hitting the perfect tone while also maintaining that clear flow through this experience being comparable to a speed drummer on a snare
The shit about his dad really hit home. One of the things special about Em is he puts it all out there to connect with his fans. His lyrics truly hit deep.
couldnt believe he is 48. his music just like someone who 20 years old his rage and his flow magnificent . this guy can sing if u put any kind of background music truly hip hop of all time respected mentor.
it's sad tbh but it's totally understandable. i'm in the same boat but i'm at peace with my dad now since he's old and hatred is never good for body or mind.
Mainstream be hating on em because they know that most of the shit that's hot on the radio is trash when em be dropping shit at the same time. This album is a str8 banger. Anyone who says this album isn't good isn't a real hip hop fan. Thats facts.
@graham connolly there are political things that i disagree with that eminem speaks about but it's all opinions and doesn't make me dislike him for his different opinion in politics. I've always been a fan of his music regardless of our stance in politics. I would never dislike someone just because we don't share the same beliefs. We're all human so this is how freedom of choice works. Some people will hate and some will not hate. It's just a choice and in the end regardless of how different we all are in our choices and differences what makes us all the same is were all human beings. 🙏👍
@graham connolly yeah like i said before. I don't agree with eminem on most of his political beliefs but everything u just mentioned runs much deeper than most of the average user knows. Funny thing is 2pac has been gone for a long time now but crazy thing is he talked about illuminati which im sure many people just looked at as bullshit or just a conspiracy theory or just didn't understand about it period but for me i was always curious about everything when i was younger. To put things short im glad there are people other than myself who are awoke and know the truth on what really is going on behind the scenes. Illuminati is real to keep it short. That's all im going to say because I'll be here writing a novel if i try an explain lol. If people want to know more. Look up that word as you're 1st step to what the world is transforming into and then figure out from there just how powerful the deep state is. Stay woke people. 🙏🤙
@graham connolly Hey no need to thank me friend. Thank u for pointing out you're views and sharing it. It's what we're here for right? To show others that we can agree or disagree on thing's no matter whose wrong or right but knowing we can come to a friendly conclusion is what really matters because it proves that words can also solve issues without using them as a dagger. Like u said, it is up to us the people to bring change to this world we live in. We are what the deep state and corrupted government fears most and is why they don't want us to know what they are plotting. Sadly i enjoy alot of the entertainment they use to distract us from what they are doing behind all the smoke and mirrors because i just want to enjoy life but they make it so hard on us. Always good to remind us even if were woke because it's easy to fall back. Were only human so it's also our greatest weakness because u can get distracted so easily so thank u for the reminder my friend. Im just glad there are others out there that know the truth. Much respect and love and stay blessed and safe out there my friend. 🙏💪👍😊
@graham connolly Also forgot to mention that there are way more people like us out there than u think but alot of them don't speak out because of the backlash that comes with knowing the truth. So don't feel lonely, you're not alone in this my friend. They will come out when we have no other choice. 🙏💪🤙👍
Honestly, probably THE best song on this album. The whole play on religion with Adam and eve, the garden of eden...sick. no one can recreate his genius
You never miss what you never had. I grew up without a father. He left when I was a baby but I never really felt like I needed him, honestly, I was blessed enough to have an amazing mother. When he died, I went to his funeral, but not a single tear dropped. His absence did leave a lot of trauma, of course, I do see that in me; I have a lot of self-esteem issues, lack social skills, etc.Luckily, I can recognize my problems and I work hard to overcome them to be better, I am proud of how much I have improved. Em went through so much more, and he is so courageous, he is a true artist who leaves himself and his feelings bare for the world to relate to them and see them. I love him so much and everything he has done! He is a great father and I wish everyone had a father like him.

How can anyone say this man is not top 10. He’s top 100 and takes up every single spot lyrically untouchable genius double entendres and sick flow and been doing it for 20 years
He's number 1. If you look at his music objectively and ignore the bias of skin colour, age or anything else his talent is unmatched. Lyricism, cadence, bars, flow, rhyme schemes, double/triple entendres, stage presence, storytelling, vocal diction, literature. He is the best at all of them individually and put together

Eminem is still the best artist that has meaningful, depressing, tear jerking music. This song, Mockingbird, Headlights, When I'm Gone, Beautiful, the underrated Proof Tribute Difficult, and more.
The ryhthmical flow of his rap every here and there is unique and superb as a piece you could hardly ever find in the music industry and everytime they hate and refused to recognize this Guy, he precipitates more better than before... That kind of Guy you hardly see in public outings🔥🐐
This song is really powerful because he's finally putting closure of his hate towards his Dad because since he's been big, he's constantly rapping about how he hates his Dad (example: My Name Is, Cleaning Out My Closet, Sing For The Moment, Rhyme Or Reason, Headlights, & Arose) but in this song he lets go of his hatred towards his Dad now that he's passed so it feels like an end of a chapter
”Sleep is my cousin” ”i never sleep cuz Sleep is the cousin of death” - Nas (N.Y. State of mind) he deadass a called himself death. His lyrics will never cease to blow my mind🖤😻

Beautiful stopped me from taking my own life one year I've never been so sure of it I was googling ways to take myself out and I would put the song beautiful on and even though I was dead inside that song made me close my eyes and think of everyone I would be hurting and decided to fight
Had to come back to edit because I just realised it was the same year 2018 x
This chorus is probably the most underrated chorus I've ever heard

He's my childhood super hero and will be for the rest of my life, much love Marshall.

He dissed both of his parents. Damn.

They want the Eminem that was on drugs and broken. Its senseless. Real fans love him anyway
He’s definitely better now from a technical, rap aspect, but the only reason ppl say he’s worse now is because he doesn’t have the same aggression as he did earlier; the raw, gritty, crazed (I couldn’t think of a better word lol) tone to his voice. Yep.

Lyrics:
Yeah (I knew this day was coming)
Sometimes, you gotta come back down (it's all going to hell now, man)
Stoop to someone's level (yeah)
Five dozen, flies buzzin' over your head
Call me the Grim Reaper, sleep is my cousin
You dead to me now and I'ma be the last face you see
'Fore you die cussin' (yep)
My eye a tiger's and I'm a survivor so I will rise up and (what?)
Be triumphant 'cause when I'm looking at my legacy (leg, I see)
Bunch of dogs tryna dry hump it
Like Triumph The Puppet, so I'm like, "Fuck it"
Pile the carnage up 'til its so high, it's touching the sky
Let 'em all line up and attack
Single filing up in the stack
Call 'em toy soldiers (yeah)
'Cause they just wind up on their backs
Now the sky's nothing but black
But I am not coming back, I done told ya
I told the woke me to go to sleep
But still, they keep on provoking me
They're hoping to see me completely broken emotionally
But how in the fuck am I not supposed to be woke
When these fuckers just keep poking me? Now
I'm leaving Heaven
I'm leaving Heaven
Angels won't find me
Where are you going?
I've been down, kicked
Like around six thousand times since I was a kid
As a child, picked on, clowned
Countless times I've been outed
Gotta remind myself of it every now and then (yeah)
So the route I went's self-empowerment
In a hole, taught myself how to get out of it
And balance it with talents, wit
'Cause life is like a penny (life is like a penny)
'Cause it's only one percent
Who overcome the shit they've underwent
I went AWOL like what my back was up against
Don't tell me 'bout struggle, bitch, I lived it
I was five or six the first time I got my hind end kicked
Malcolm, Isaac, and Boogie jumped me and took my tricycle
And I don't know if I would call that white privilege, yeah
But I get it, how it feels to be judged by pigment
Besides getting it from both sides of the tracks
But I swore I'd get them back
Even if it meant selling my soul to get revenge and (what?)
Thought of a scheme and it got me to thinking
If I can believe in myself, I could prolly achieve it
That's part of the reason I do all my talking with ink
And as long as I'm breathing I vow to smother and beat them
A God but a heart of a demon, go at 'em and I'ma get even
Like I'm in the Garden of Eden, I'm 'bout to go off of the deep end
This evil is calling, I'm already seething and
I'm leaving Heaven
I'm leaving Heaven
Angels won't find me
Where are you going?
Okay, so while Macklemore was keeping his room nice and neat (yeah)
I was getting my ass beat twice a week (what?)
Looking for a place for the night where I could sleep
Flippin' sofa cushions over just tryin' to see
If I could find some change and scrape up for a bite to eat
If Denaun and me find a couple dimes a piece
Twenty five cents each'd get us a bag of chips
We'd be glad to get that even we if we had to split
We'd do backward flips, looking back at it
I think that would fit with the definition of not having shit
Couple that with the fact my mother was batshit
Pop was a sack of shit, yeah, he died, but I gave half a shit
Yeah, which brings me back to the real dad that I zero had
Since a year-old, forty-seven year-old scab
Just to hear them words, ear piercing
Like my earlobe stabbed with a needle for an earring
Should I feel upset? You were dead to me 'fore you died
Me? Tear no shed
Should I have made a mural at your funeral?
Had your coffin draped with a hero's flag?
Where the fuck you were at
When De'Angelo done hurt me real bad at the Rio Grande?
Never met your grandkids, fucking coward
Only gut you had was from your stomach fat
I couldn't see your ass goin' to Heaven
So I'm asking for a pass to go to Hell
So I can whip your fucking ass
I hate that I'll never get to say "I hate you" to your face
No coming back from where I'm going
Sky is dark, my soul is black, hand on the shovel
Dig with the blade up, and then I step on the metal
Vendetta to settle, tell the Devil
I'm leaving Heaven (yeah)
I'm leaving Heaven (you know, I should dig your motherfucking ass up)
Angels won't find me (just to spit in your fucking face)
Where are you going? (Holding my baby pictures up like you're proud of me)
I'm leaving heaven (fuck you, bitch)
I'm leaving heaven (you know what? Maybe if I had had you)
Angels won't find me (I wouldn't have went through half the shit I went through, so I blame you)
Where are you going? (Or maybe I should say, "Thank you")
('Cause I wouldn't have been me)
So you better, you better run (yeah)
You better, you better run (so I'ma let it go now, rest in peace)
You better, you better run (cocksucker)
You better, you better run (see you in Hell)
Mr. Wolverine thats my favorite part too
In the chorus its actually "where i am going" instead of where are you going

This album makes me cry, mad, and laugh. This is everything I want from an album
I can't listen to this song without bawling like a baby... I hope you're okay Marshall
Eminem is still the best artist that has meaningful, depressing, tear jerking music. This song, Mockingbird, Headlights, When I'm Gone, Beautiful, the underrated Proof Tribute Difficult, and more.
Everyone wondered how he felt about his father’s death. This is his answer
The ryhthmical flow of his rap every here and there is unique and superb as a piece you could hardly ever find in the music industry and everytime they hate and refused to recognize this Guy, he precipitates more better than before... That kind of Guy you hardly see in public outings🔥🐐
The anger starts here 0:08
The pain & tears starts here 2:52

Wow this is masterpiece. So much emotions in this song. I love it❤
Good breakdown
@@Sticks_ men he really hates his dad because of what he did to him and left him
man this song makes me cry even though i can't relate to it cause my dad is a angle but this has that much emotions that makes me depressed af
I can’t relate to these but the song gives me depression though.
The last verse literally gives me chills.
Please dont give up dear reader ❤
Thank you
One of the best songs of Em ,Period!
wow. Full of emotions, what a masterpiece as usual by this collab
”Sleep is my cousin”
”i never sleep cuz Sleep is the cousin of death” - Nas (N.Y. State of mind) he deadass a called himself death.
His lyrics will never cease to blow my mind🖤😻
He called himself the Grim Reaper just before that, so he wasn't being subtle about it.
that cousin of death thing isnt his lyric buddy. thats from Nas way back when
@@blazerix8 its a play on nas' lyrics
You don’t say
@@blazerix8 That's an old saying. Nas didn't come up with it.
I love Eminem but Skylar just has a beautiful voice. This song is amazing. Great combo.
Her voice Is a product of autotune lol
I can't relate to this song but what i like about it is the way eminem is telling the story you can feel the sadness and anger in his voice
This song gives me chills 😭😭♥️
Such a deep subject and EM still pours every ingredient of hip hop in it! Dayum! And let’s not down play Skylar on the hook. She sounded amazing full of soul and emotion. Great song and another one for the catalog.
When u trade pain and anger for talent in exchange this is the end result of when u channel what u feel I’ve never felt em in a more high strung level this was a fuccin master piece
This song is my most listened to song on the album
"Angels wont find meeeeeeeeieieieeeeee, where i am gooooiiiin!"
I love this song
