Hey Remi! As an ex barista a couple of tips I would give when frothing the milk is to hold the jug at an angle when it's frothing and move the jug up and down to warm all the milk, then give the jug a couple of hard taps on your side to pop any air bubbles and then swirl the milk for a few seconds, that helps to make the milk silky and smooth 🤌👌 love you! You did a pretty good job making the latte! I would just have all of your ingredients ready to use before getting the espresso shot cuz if you have ur espresso shots sitting there for a while it’s a dead shot. Normally when I make a latte I put the syrups first in the cup and mix it in with the shots. I’ve never worked a espresso machine like that but if the frother handle can move you can choose if you want your milk to be less or more frothy. There are a lot of videos on RUclips that are super helpful too.

former barista here! do the pumps of flavoring in the cup before you pour the espresso to get the flavoring mixed in well. also, when frothing your milk, you want to pull the pitcher down to the bottom of the wand until you hear a paper tearing noise, raise it and lower it a few times, then let it rest!
I love you! I used to be a barista and feel the need to fill you in. Lattes have more milk than foam and cappuccinos typically have more foam than milk. You’ve been saying the opposite 😝 ALSO! Scrape the excess espresso off the top with your tool of choice and lightly push the stamp down until totally flat. Also learned the hard way that is the espresso looses its foam before putting it in the drink then it becomes way more bitter and not as nice to drink. Love you so much! Your channel got me through Covid 💜

Tip for espresso!! If you go ahead and pump your sweetener into a cup and then immediately pour your espresso on top after it’s done pulling (while it’s still light brown frothy looking) it’ll keep your espresso from getting too bitter. You’re so sweet and I love your vlogs!!

Since you asked for advice, the one recommendation I would give is to make sure you get your frothed milk in the cup with the espresso ASAP. :) As it starts to cool it can get bitter pretty quickly, so the sooner you get the milk in to bring it all together, the better it will turn out!

Former barista here! ☕️ -Tamp lightly when packing your espresso. Over tamping or not tamping can cause your shots to pull too short or long resulting in bitter/sour tasting shots. -You can do separate shot glasses or place your cup right under. Often to ensure mixture you place flavors in cup first to have the hot espresso hit and mix together. + the smell of yummy syrups and hot espresso is 🤤 -when steaming milk let it make the screeching sound for a few seconds then pull up and tilt at an angle. Your milk should do this pretty circular motion. Your milk will come out less foamy and more of a velvet looking texture 😊 Love you Remi! -Allie
you don't have to use two cups under the spout remi! just get one that fits under the spout nicely. also you should have different baskets that come with it in the portafilter that you can play around with as well (including probably a pressurized one you could use pre-ground coffee with if you wanted but i don't really recommend). grind size is really key to taste as well. i think you have the breville barista touch from what it looks like - you can definitely learn to steam the milk on your own and get a more silky texture if you want - it doesn't have to be super foamy if you don't like it that way so much! def watch some youtube videos, i pretty much learned everything i know about coffee from youtube and practice :) if you just put the wand straight down into the frother you're gonna get a super foamy texture - you gotta introduce air at the top then dive down to whirlpool and incorporate the foam into the milk more.

Hey Remi! I have that exact espresso machine! The one thing that makes a difference is dialing in the espresso. Make sure to watch some RUclips videos on it. The machine shows you how to do it as well! It took me literally like 15 wasted espresso drinks before I nailed it but it was sooo worth it!

When you mentioned how is midwester’s we’re suffering without cream cheese it made me think of some “midwest” meals and foods that you should try and recreate!! There are these chips called Grippos which are barbecue chips and people around here are obsessed. Some have made grilled cheeses with them on each side (attached by butter and mayo) and people go crazy for them!! Would love to see a Cooking w/ Remi focused on other midwest food ideas and combos!!

As a barista I will say the shots definitely taste better the fresher they are ! They die and they turn a little bitter when they do, so it’s best to have the milk either steamed fully or almost done steaming while pouring your shots 🥰
Hey Remi, barista here! When using the coffee machine do your coffee shots last, when they sit out for too long they go bitter. If you can use just one cup to catch both shots you’ll also be able to see the layering better (plus it saves on cleanup). I personally don’t have that machine so I’m not 100% sure how the steam wand works but you could try lifting it slightly to add the foam first (as little or as much as you want) and then let it sit flat so it actually heats the milk! You made more of a cappuccino than a latte because there was too much foam on top. hope this helps ❤️

omg the breville is gorgeous! just recently got the breville bambino (: to actually "foam" the milk, you can hold the milk jar at a 45 degree angle first with the frother tip right at the surface of the milk (should make a nice hissing sound) & then after about 7 seconds or so, you can set the milk jar back down and let it heat up to your desired temperature! (:

Hi remi!! Barista here. Make sure you mix milk with the espresso shots within 30 seconds of brewing so they don’t expire. I also love to pump my syrup into the mini espresso cups so it’s mixes eight the espresso as it brews.
this coming from a barista (for almost 3 months now lol) hey rem, love you! just a tip, espresso shots lose their fresh taste the longer they sit & “expire” about 12 seconds after brewing, so if you let them sit they’ll “go bad”. I recommend you first put your flavoring (syrup) in the cup then put in your espresso shots, this will keep the shot from ”expiring” while you steam your milk. It will also help to get the flavors well combined! Just a tip! To each their own, Love you rem!!!!

When you mentioned how is midwester’s we’re suffering without cream cheese it made me think of some “midwest” meals and foods that you should try and recreate!! There are these chips called Grippos which are barbecue chips and people around here are obsessed. Some have made grilled cheeses with them on each side (attached by butter and mayo) and people go crazy for them!! Would love to see a Cooking w/ Remi focused on other midwest food ideas and combos!!

The La Colombo espresso beans make a delicious latte, I’ve had my latte machine for like two years and the beans never fail to impress me!!!
As a barista I will say the shots definitely taste better the fresher they are ! They die and they turn a little bitter when they do, so it’s best to have the milk either steamed fully or almost done steaming while pouring your shots 🥰
Hey Remi, barista here! When using the coffee machine do your coffee shots last, when they sit out for too long they go bitter. If you can use just one cup to catch both shots you’ll also be able to see the layering better (plus it saves on cleanup). I personally don’t have that machine so I’m not 100% sure how the steam wand works but you could try lifting it slightly to add the foam first (as little or as much as you want) and then let it sit flat so it actually heats the milk! You made more of a cappuccino than a latte because there was too much foam on top. hope this helps ❤️

omg the breville is gorgeous! just recently got the breville bambino (: to actually "foam" the milk, you can hold the milk jar at a 45 degree angle first with the frother tip right at the surface of the milk (should make a nice hissing sound) & then after about 7 seconds or so, you can set the milk jar back down and let it heat up to your desired temperature! I do have a tip for you, make sure you milk is steamed before you pull the espresso shot, after 30 seconds (i believe) of just sitting out espresso shots expire and become a dead shot which can make them bitter and not taste right, also another tip I like to do but also do at work is put the flavors in first and then after milk and steamed and shots are pulled i put the shots in and swirl it and then put the milk in so it mixes nicely! after frothing the milk I def recommend tapping the little canister on the counter and swirl it to get rid of the bubbles and make It smoother

Hi remi!! Barista here. Make sure you mix milk with the espresso shots within 30 seconds of brewing so they don’t expire. I also love to pump my syrup into the mini espresso cups so it’s mixes eight the espresso as it brews.
this coming from a barista (for almost 3 months now lol) hey rem, love you! just a tip, espresso shots lose their fresh taste the longer they sit & “expire” about 12 seconds after brewing, so if you let them sit they’ll “go bad”. I recommend you first put your flavoring (syrup) in the cup then put in your espresso shots, this will keep the shot from ”expiring” while you steam your milk. It will also help to get the flavors well combined! Just a tip! To each their own, Love you rem!!!!

Hey Rem!! For better milk you can aerate it, so before you put the milk fully under the frother, put the frother in just a little bit, wait until the sound of ripping paper stops then put it under the frother! 😻
