This feels like what great old one warlock should have been. It does basically everything that subclass already has (telepathy within 30 feet, but with even better range once activated and resistance to psychic damage) and more; also revelation of flesh feels so thematically appropriate for someone who’s granted power from an otherworldly elder god that likely has a horrific and incomprehensible true form.
I love the revelation of flesh ability and I wish other subclasses had features like it. I reminds me of simple warlock invocations, and being able to choose between 4 gives some variety.
I have an idea for a melee version of AMS. You can get access to Silvery Barbs as a psionic spell. Using the race of Mountain Dwarf. You should be able to keep using barbs for a fair while when you can change a Lv3 slot for 5 sorcery points then only expend 1 to use the barbs. You can also have absorb elements and shield as normal spells for some versatility if you are either fighting swarms or magical enemies.
You get only 3 sorcery points for a 3rd level slot. But yes, Silvery Barbs on any saving throw the enemy made against your Hightened Spell Hold Monster and/or Dominate Person and/or Polymorph, is quite something at later levels.
Plasmoid abberant mind is the best build i ever built,worked wonders for me. Being an ooze that can breath in water for an hour makes so just by existing i get 2 out of the 4 revelations of flesh,so i could always get the flying one. The 2th level free physic spells were the only ones i needed,so i could use the free 2th level spaces into sorcery points for metamagic. The pseudops of the plasmoid can also use touch based spells and there are no set amount of pseudops you can make(atleas not in the book) and making them or using them counts as a bonus action. At low level once,i used 4 inflict wounds from behind a guard,poor man didnt even had a chance 😅😂
Now cuz of spooky month I wanna go mega spook with making a Sorlock with Aberrant Mind and Undead Patron warlock but I'm wracking my brain on how to do the level split cuz I like the AM capstone but also like the features of Undead patron even when excluding the possibility of coffeelock stuff. Tho a very Far Realm themed multiclass for Sorlock could be Fathomless + Aberrant Mind. Also on the other side of things, spooky Undead Patron + Shadow Magic Sorcerer.

Yea absolutely, it's really cool how it allows for the Aberrant Mind to make a choice of which powers to selectively use depending on the situation!

Why does megamind look so concerned?
I was initially planning to have Megamind do the lean in meme template but in the end I felt that looking awkward fit the Aberrant Mind theme.
Wanted to go full Psionic so I made a Githzerai with Abberant Mind… unsure if it works well as I haven’t played it yet, but

Telepathic Bond as Sorcerer is not as good as with any class that can actually do rituals.
