Anything Volvo is usually brilliant. Including this..
Depending on the ground material,you can see the advantage a six wheel drive tractor pulling the scraper has.If a standard scraper would just spin its wheels,the six wheel tractor would use 4 wheels to still pull.The total weight being spread over more axles.At the same time it could get pushed by a double wheeled tractor.Saving time straightaway.

Impressive heavy equipment. Git-er-done.
They seem to do a good job and the roller on the push pad makes sense, but it's a weird thing to say, but these units just don't have the "dinosaur" appeal of the twin engined motor scrapers
They also have nowhere near the digging power as a twin engine has a good 400hp on these trucks

For the video, the operator insanely over-filled his bowl. LOL!
The one advantage of this rig is for long distance hauls. In short, tight, conditions, it stinks.
As for wear, the extra axles/tires suffer less wear (individually) as it's spread out. Specific ground pressure is reduced. (front axles)
The operator can easily reach higher road speeds, loaded, as he is further away from the load.
At speed a 631 is going to be pretty rough. You're right atop the loaded axle... and the entire set-up is rough on the haul road. (4 wheels)

I would like to see these machines go head up with 57's. I was on a spread and the 57's ran circles around them but k-tec 17yd smaller cans. 57's load out faster and was better in the placing fill. As for yardage there is a difference when it comes to the material being cut. The sticky clay will get better yardage numbers compared to a ripped cut. 57's will be in the 30yd range with ripped material. I would say the k-tec would be in the 35-40yd range in a ripped cut. In my humble experience on last project of 50 million yards.

We have a bunch of the Cat version. They are also hall trucks. Scrapers and haul trucks. 2 in 1. Faster and smoother ride. More versatile. Only thing better is our D9 cat pans.

Never bin able to 'figger' the logic of using SIX tires to do the same job that TWO tires do on a conventional 2-wheel scraper prime mover except maybe in soft ground. It still hazta be pushed to load it. And its not as manoeverable.

Thank you for viewing our channel. The 6 tires on the prime mover help to spread the weight of the machine better on the jobsites. Contractors have stated that the haul roads will not get punched out with the ADT/K-Tec Scrapers compared to 2 tire-units. The 6 tire ADT's offer increased traction and power to the ground.
