HOW TO MAKE 'PERFECT SHOTS' COFFEE WITH ESPRESSO CREMA USING MOKA POTS

- Let's face it. The ultimate moka pot brewing technique should give you a smooth tasting brew with that beautiful regulated crema flowing out of your moka pot into the cup! Just like what you would expect out of espresso from an espresso machine. Except this time at a fraction of the cost of an espresso machine.
With a few tweaks in the brewing technique and adding this crema valve, you might just get those perfect 'shots' using your affordable moka pots. I also found that using the valve eliminates the need for paper filter.
This handmade crema valve was invented by a gentleman from the South of Thailand. If you would like to give it a try, links to order are below:

I use the paper filters which do a good job of giving some crema. Don’t forget this is not espresso! The crema is short lived, but i can say that the paper filter does help the coffee texture. Maybe this valve helps too? I think the technique in this video is very good in getting a better tasting cafe. I usually let my moka get too hot on the flame which makes the coffee more bitter. This makes a bigger difference in how good the coffee turns out if you pull it off the flame earlier. Thanks for sharing!
I always wondered if there was such an attachment and saw this video and just bought mine. Thank you!
Hi, thank you for this brilliant review. What is the best way to clean the crema valve?
Hi, mine arrived today do I install using all 3 O rings or just one? 3 cup Bialetti
So how do you get one of those valves please?
Would you please tell me where to get the crema valve for the moka pot!
does this valve work for the Bialetti Musa 4 cup model (steel, not aluminum) ? thanks!
and I cannot find to order on your www-shop
Good content fair review
Thank you kindly!
I ordered that valve today! Luckily I live in Thailand.
Where can I get the cremavalve in the US?
Great video. Do you know what the valve is made out of (e.g. aluminum, brass, stainless steel) and if there are any plastics inside the valve? Thank you!
Pure stainless steel. Nothing else
What does it do? How does it work? Like what's the principle of operation? Anybody know? Thanks.
Interesting concept that I haven't seen before. The results look great, but I'm a little worried about the added pressure making the whole unit too hot. In your experience, has this been an issue?
Not at all. My experience is that one should use less water in the boiler so as not to overly increase the pressure.
Hi, does this valve work for the Bialetti venus 4 cup models? thanks!
Hello, no it does not. Works on Moka Express and Brikka. Honestly, you can simply use coffee filters and it should work equally well. :-)
From where i can buy that valve mam , please
I just placed my order. I also ordered the mini hot plate but forgot to check if I can use it in the USA 🇺🇸
Hello, we have sent you an email. The hot plate is 220V so it might not work in the USA.
Where can I get a creams valve
How much pressure does the crema valve make the system create?
1.5 probably. Maybe 1.3
Where can we find the tool? Give me the purchase link. I am from Africa
I have the IMUSA 6-cup Moka pot and using medium roast Turkish coffee fine grind that gives me some crema. I don’t need to add the extra valve that probably wouldn’t fit my Moka pot anyway.
I would like to buy this crema valve for bialetti moka induction 2 cups …where is it possible ?
Thanks
Would you please tell me where to buy the cremavalve for a moka pot!!!!
Hello, how are you, i live in lima, peru, could you tell me where I could buy that valve because i can't find it?
Hello, it is out of stock at the moment.
That is such an amazing invention! So is it not available for purchase anymore ? The link says that this website is not available. I just wanted to touch base with you and make sure. I am interested in buying this. Thank you for your amazing news and never stop creating such wonderful content. You just got a new subscriber!
Hello, we are currently out of stock. Thanks for subscribing!
Will this work with a stainless steel Bialetti espresso maker?
I was thinking the same thing too.
Third to this same question. 😂
Anyone find out an answer?
how to order the crema valve from Malaysia?
Hello, it is available on Shopee and Lazada in Thailand
where can i buy from please
Awesome invention.
Question: how do you remove it to help clear the moka pot? Or is it a permanent mod, and once it has been placed inside, it cannot be taken out?
You simply have to tap it out. TBH, using a paper filter would achieve an equally good brew
@@rizasri really? What do you mean by “equally good brew”? you mean, using a paper filter will achieve the crema this valve offers? I don’t think so. I’ve tried adding a paper filter to my 3 cup moka pot and the result is the same. No matter the grind size.
But what I want to know is, once you plug the tube/shaft with that Thai-invented gasket/valve, how does one remove it? Those rubber/silicon o-rings look pretty tight, and one would worry that once it’s jammed inside tightly, it will be close to impossible to remove.
Does it come with a tool to remove it easily?
@@francochanIf you want crema, buy an espresso machine. Trying to force crema out of a moka pot will only result in poor tasting coffee.
@@kiyoponnn first of all, I feel like I ought to wish you a Merry Christmas as of all the days of the year, you’d rather spend it taking some of us here in the comments section to task than spread some positive cheer.
Second, maybe shy away from any assumptions about people you may not know. Why do I say this? Because:
1. I do have espresso machine, and I do enjoy true crema, among other things that an espresso machine delivers. And;
2. I also own a moka pot, and have owned one for many years, and respect it’s Italian heritage in coffee making, as well as its design simplicity in being able to deliver good coffee in such a small package.
To address your pointed query, some may not have the option to get an espresso machine due to budget or space constraints, in which case, a moka pot (like generations of Italians can attest to) serves as a smaller, portable, more economical and accessible way to obtain someone’s espresso, with only a stovetop burner needed.
@@kiyoponnn Also, precisely, most of the people who have watched and appreciate this video are intrigued by this easy attachment that adds a further extra bit of pressure to any moka pot in the cupboard.
I have since purchased one of these, but before I share my own observations, I just want to preface it with this: I am aware that moka pots do not technically create true pressurized crema, they can create a sort of micro-foam residue that closely resembles it in limited amounts and in varying degrees - a “faux crema”, if you will.
Now, what this “spout cap” invention does create however, is simply a higher, more frequent occurrence of this “faux crema”, by bringing the standard top spout of any moka pot to an efficiency of a Bialetti Brikka moka pot, which has a similar “spout cap” that increases the pressure just a little bit more to create “faux crema” for those seeking it in their moka pot brews.

I just got my valve. I have a bialetti 3 cup. Should the valve be snug? I keeps falling out. Do I need to push the valve in so it’s tight?
Hi, the valve can be pushed in or could also be loose. When I pushed too tight I had to use a soft bendable wire to push out :-) Good luck!
@@rizasri I got zero crema. I think this has a learning curve. It still tasted good and I’m not giving up! You got crema so I am certain this is user error on my part.
@@CelticKym Yeah, even with Brikka it takes a bit of trial and error. Never give up!
I just tried, and didn’t get much crema, but the taste seemed to be improved over the same coffee and water without the valve.
@@EdDetlie Don't give up! It took me a few iterations before I got the hang of it. If you follow my tips you might get the crema fine. Yes, I agree the the taste is cleaner and fuller body.
Anyone in US how can we order this filter?
Hi. . Where did you set the hotplate when you lower its setting. .
Max is 5, I lower to 4 after 1-1.5min then 0 when it starts to flow out.
Does the crema valve work on a New Venus 2 cup? Thanks.
No, it does not.
@@rizasri That's too bad. I have been using paper filters (1 0r 2) and experimented with water temps (from room temp to very hot) and I only use filtered water but NO crema. Perhaps time to use a different coffee other than Lavazza medium grind. Keep up the good work.

Where can I get the cremavalve?
Hi po mam idol😍...can i use crema valve using electric moka pot? TIA💕
Hi, the gadget is too small for the 6-cup electric moka pot. The inventor has to design a larger crema valve for these ;-)
Is there a way to order this to the USA?
Not at the moment. It is too small and we have had cases of loss in transit :-(
I think the pursuit for a good looking crema is an outdate concept, having crema may look great but it's not an indication of a great coffee.
Was this a 3 cup moka pot? Seems like you emptied out the pot with just 1 cup
That's how I typically brew my coffee for home - milk added later! :-) ruclips.net/video/WIQnxXlejn0/видео.html
@@rizasri Let’s say I want to make an 12 oz Americano; do I have to put less water in the chamber if I want it to act like an espresso? How many shots does a 3 cup moka pot yield?
@Homme Field In a 3 cup Bialetti, if you fill the base with 130g of water you can usually get 85g - 95g of brewed coffee out with proper temperature regulation. This is around 3oz of coffee.
Making a moka americano, I would use between a 1:1 to 1:2 ratio of brewed coffee to hot water. Ultimately the ratio is up to you, but I start losing complexity above 1:2. So at most your americano will be likely be around 9oz.
Use the max amount of water and a full basket of coffee each time. Keep in mind that the less water you use, the more steam you need to generate to begin brewing (which usually means a hotter brew temperature). Moka pots are such sensitive brewers that aiming for specific results is pretty tough unless you are unreasonably consistent.
How many ml of espresso yielded out from that 120ml hot water?🤔
about 90ml.... everytime you brew, you get 1oz. or 30ml less or at least that's what I get.
Please we need receipt for
Milkshake and freakshake Frappuccino all things you know maybe more names
I don't understand
one should note that this is not proper crema it is just foam similar to the increased crema foam created by the double walled portafilter in a cheaper espresso machine.
Agree on the double wall
Please don't follow this types of videos. Follow the videos of bialetti and illy. You have to use it fresh water just beacuse when you put the moka on the stove the water will boil at 100 celsius degree and then the coffee will start to come out. The moka preparation is not for crema but just for an espresso size coffee, if you want a crema espresso you have to use an espresso machine cause the extraction pressure is much much higher, for example 8 bar, that the about 1.1 bar of the extraction with the moka. The moka brand will not affect your coffee taste, but how much you will use it the moka in the future because the first 3/4 coffee you have to throw it in the garbage. Then using the moka frequently will change the colour of the gasket and the taste improves. In Italy we use Bialetti just beacuse is an Italian brand, it makes beatiful and well constructed moka, and you find replacement parts easily.
Nah.. use James Hoffman technique. Makes amazing moka.
Depends on the coffee for me. I have noticed darker roasts taste better when I start with room temp water, but medium roasts are better with the boiling water method. But I am no coffee expert.
Already misinforming. The water is pressurized; it's boiling past 100C. 9 bar extraction for espresso, not 8. Also, fresh water takes longer to heat up; conductive heat transfer thru the pot itself will burn your coffee before then from the heat source. I agree that these types of videos aren't the best; they misinform as well, but don't spread misinformation to beat out other misinformation.
Sorry to crash the party, but that's not crema.
plain and simple.
Forgiven!
