    Thanks for posting this Jake. Although I have your book, nothing beats a video for explaining the techniques. Would be great to have one of the thinning in detail.

    I am so happy to find your channel, I have been working on mimiking this on a miniature level bonsai style( or maybe letting it grow into a topiary) I think it’s so interesting!

      Definitely give it a try! I’ve seen bonsai in Japan - they work well, but for me it’s all about the scale of the lower trunk v the lightness of the tall trunks, so the bigger the better !!

    Very impressive ! I’m trying to propagating the Sugi tree. Mainly Lobbi. Not sure how to accomplish this. In your video at the beginning I believe you mention your propagating is by cuttings. Any chance you could do a video on that,, or just explain how it’s achieved. In the comments. Thank You from NJ.

      Thanks Don. I got these commercially propagated - I’ve tried doing it myself (Just sticking a few prunings in the ground) and only get 1 in 10 success rate. But I don’t have green fingers!

    Hi Jake , where can i get the Cryptomeria Japonica in the Uk?, I am trying to make dai sugi but online nurseries selling sekkan sugi or dwarf cryptomeria japonica, nothing related to your Sugi tree.
    Help! thanks in advanced.
