    They look good to me John, have to be pleased with those. When you poured the white back into the main pot that certainly looked a lot thicker, so I guess the time was really ticking for how much you really had left. I'm guessing when the resin starts to go off it's like most things it goes really quickly whee you then end up with seconds to work with it rather than minutes.

    • @JohnClothier
      @JohnClothier  5 лет назад

      Thanks Paul. Yes I was happy with them. Absolutely, it seems to take for ever to thicken then all of a sudden it's too thick! Lol

    Nice blanks John, I have been searching for a way to keep colours separate and have only recently made ribbons and watching Pam from Highland Boxes mention temperature you have confirmed that I need to look at that. I did come across a formula that helps me get almost the right amount of resin needed for each mould I create, will try and find the link for you. Great video... I also saw the small turning with the fine finial, another interest of mine..THanks for sharing

    • @JohnClothier
      @JohnClothier  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks Buster. Yes let your resin thicken before pouring to keep the colours separate. Temperature is your key to this. Remember though that different resins have different temperatures they need to he for this so do a little experimenting.

    • @JohnClothier

      Thanks. The dye is a flat colour. It is translucent. (Except the white and black). Casters choice mica powder is a metallic pearlescent coloured powder.

    I do have a idea for a blank though it may seem odd, how about a "Time Line" Blank which is when you have some dust that isn't gross or harmful swept up you put that in a cup and over time fill that cup with said dust. Once enough has been collected encase it in resin in a blank mold and ten turn it, basically a blank showing that every day something changes.

    • @JohnClothier
      @JohnClothier  5 лет назад

      Thanks! That's a great idea. I've been doing something similar already. Every time I mix up some resin I usually make too much. I've put all the left overs in a pot which now looks like a rainbow on acid. I could turn that and do a video

    • @Plokman040
      @Plokman040 5 лет назад

      @@JohnClothier Awesome my friend, truly all of that dust and extra resin shouldn't be let to waste. I look forward to seeing your next video and I am glad you got a small bit of inspiration from my idea. I always enjoy helping my peers no matter how small a contribution I do.
